Yeah, thats what i thought too. This 1st season is supposed to be reverse order since nothing was determined beforehand, and NEXT season is supposed to go to the tier based draft.

Yeah I was under the impression that THIS draft was going to be straight up reverse and any changes were from NEXT season's draft on?

There was nothing stopping us from doing a lottery this year so we did it. Next season the tier penalty comes into play if you fail to meet the games played requirement.

Besides the fact that everyone thought it was a reverse order this entire first season and this wasn't discussed until this week you mean?

Seems like a pretty poor way to handle this.

That pink text I had in the OP made absolutely zero sense. If you saw it, pretend it didn't exist. We want the 5th round to start with the lower finishing teams. The higher finishing teams will get the waiver priority.

If I'm reading between the lines correctly, the question here is "I tanked all season under the assumption that I'd get the 1st pick, why can't I have it?". My answer to that is: by all means, if the majority of people agree with your sentiment we can completely ignore the tiers.

Seriously though, standard procedure would be reverse snake, so people did tank with that in mind. And most of the conversation here has been under the assumption we wouldn't change the system this year.

Let's smoothen the new awesome much better system that doesn't benefit shameful tankers next year

Yes reverse snake is preferred. I didn't tank though I drafted terribly and didn't take a reliable big man and one of my main squeezes (Lavine) got injured. Tier system would be okay if we put it to a vote for the following drafts.

Well depends on your definition of tanked. I went young with the founding draft yes, which means I knew I was going to be terrible. But I didn't intentionally miss games to land the top pick. I had a lot of personal stuff happy to me the middle of last year and a fantasy league wasn't a priority, especially one in which I was already dead last to begin with.

I just don't like having rules changed at the last second when everyone understood them to be another way, that was my issue during the discussion in the other thread. That's why I'm completely ok with the tiered system moving forward. Not like my team is going to magically become great where it won't screw me next draft.

This being the first Dynasty league I've ever done(and a style I've wanted to try for years), I liked the idea of snagging high upside unproven guys and hoping to put together a great team a few seasons down the line.
