The Heat pick is a big asset, but I wouldn't stress it too much, the trade up value was decent, and the fit excellent. Maybe not positionally, because it is a bit tough to work out the rotations, but for a team that needs shooting and defense, Mikal makes so much sense.

I think he's more of a pure 3, maybe 2 for spot minutes, don't see 4 much given his frame. I think you're more likely to run lineups with Mikal at the 3 and Jackson at the 4. I do wonder where this leaves Warren, unless he becomes a full time 4 and they scrap the Bender/Chriss projects for the most part, then he's likely the odd man out.

fits like a glove

that "Klay" role... hopefully, but would be happy if he plays like Convington and Middleton

If the Celtics plan on starting Hayward/Tatum at the SF/PF spots next season, can someone explain to me why we can't do the same with Bridges/Jackson?

Congrats, the perfect complementary piece for any team really. Had him much higher on my board because for all the search of star talent, those talents are rare in each draft and Mikal can become the ultimate role player – and that's more important for teams trying to win than having some player who can put up gaudy numbers but only on mediocre teams.

Of course, having to give up the pick hurts a bit but if you guys feel like you can build a championship team around the players you already have, Mikal is an exceptional choice. I've probably been his biggest fan all year and I'm excited to see him on the Suns.

Oh, and I wouldn't worry too much about who starts and having one wing too many for the starting five. You have some multipositional wings, so even a player who doesn't start could average 30+ MPG just by virtue of the versatility on the roster and the direction of the league. Sometimes fans get too caught up in the terms starters and bench players – the first guy off the bench can be as valuable as a good starter and play the minutes to reflect that.

Reminds me of Middleton and even a bit of Michael Redd and Rip Hamilton with his quick release and him moving around a lot. Perplexed as to where he fits into the team when we got our wings covered with Book/Jackson. He seems like an elite role player type, along with Bender. Excited to see how well he does.

Really hard to find an upper tier DEFENDER with great offense/efficiency/passing.
Mikal almost broke the BPM in his college years and I expect the same with the pros.
Losing the Heat's pick stings, but he'll be worthy of all that.

Most exciting part of his game for me is his post defense. Understanding how to use your body/timing/footwork at this age is a great sign.

My pre draft big board had Mikal #1 and Ayton #2. Yep I’m the one person that liked Mikal that much.

But you guys got both of them... I’m not mad.

Would Mikal be a top 5 pick in most drafts? Yes.

So cash the pick now. Besides. A 2021 pick is three years away and maybe 5 years from contributing, especially if it’s one of those freshmen coming out.

Just so you guys know... Mikal is a 2/3. He’s far too skinny to play the 4. If Jackson can play the 4 while Bridges plays the 3, then you’re in business.

I see him being compared to Kris Middleton, but Mikal is a much better athlete.I think he's a unique player. The guy shot 44% from 3pt range on over 200+ attempts. He's still only 21.People act as if you have to be 18 yrs old to have any "untapped" potential.I think this guy still has a bunch of untapped potential.Athletically, he's more explosive than your typical 3 & D type player. On top of that, his efficiency is mind boggling.Only weakness I see is ball handling. If he can learn to shoot off the dribble(Watching his highlights.I actually saw him do it a few times), I think he can be an All Star level player.Wouldn't be shocked if he ends up being one of the top 3 or 4 players in this entire draft.

Best of luck to you guys with Mikal. He's a nice polished player that should fit well with what you are building down there. It was a good trade for both teams as Sixers really needed more of an elite on-ball defender and that 2021 pick for possible trades and you guys need more of an elite team defender who isn't going to be a major project.

I'll enjoy watching and cheering Mikal on for you guys.

I like MB but I don't understand the move. Booker, Jackson and MB are all wings and none of them are big enough to play the 4. Are we moving Booker to the point? Maybe Jackson? Just a lot to give up for a position we already have a starter for.

Jackson and Bridges play the exact same position and are both too small to play the 4. Not sure I understand the move.

Mikal is 6'7" with a reported 7'2" wing... that's Draymond range.
We're definitely going with a four-out offense now, maybe five if Ayton's shooting translates.

Draymond was 236lbs coming out of college, Mikal is 209lbs. Draymond is also strong as an ox.

Interchanging wings, switching on defense, thats where the league is now. Nobody is complaining Boston has too many good wings after the run they had.
