Vasquez is not that good. He is hit or miss and if he was any good, he would have came out years ago. 2nd rd pick at beast. Plus, I rather have Dragic

Too bad he's going to be a top 5 pick. :curse:

Charles Garcia sounds almost Carl Landry-ish. Freakin take him! Has anyone else noticed that alot of very good power forwards were taken outside the lottery? Boozer, Lee, and Landry were 35, 30, and 32nd. Maybe just maybe this could be our edition of said players  . And like I said earlier. Malcolm Lee looks like a very good 2 guard for the future. Great shooter, can create his own shot, combo guard who could be a back-up-back-up point guard, and a very good defender. He's supposed to be late 1st round so we'd have to probably do a combination of giving up one of our 2nd rounders, a future 2nd rounder, and some ciz-ash. Then just hope Garcia drops, and if he doesn't trade the other pick with money. We're still a profitable team, it's not like we're losing money every year

Cool - thanks

I spent the weekend watching college ball. Jarvis Varnado looks like he can play -

Zoran Dragič with 60th pick?:) He has talent, but he needs to stay some more time in the Europe to be more ready to step up here then..

why not?

DraftXpress has us taking the big German kid, Ohlbrecht(?)
Might as well take a project as we have enough players right now, if we use the #42 to really add someone

Seeing as how we need a shooting guard eventually... You're a native Slovenian aren't you? How does his game compare to Goran's? How tall is he, is he as mean a defender, and can he shoot (or at least learn to shoot)?

Here's Zoran's Eurobasket profile. Looks like he's a Goran clone. Or brother. Or something. Not the greatest 3 point shooter (which Goran wasn't) but 70% from 2. I take it he slashes alot.......

Yup, i am a Slovenian.. He is taller than Goran, just as quick and athletic, but is more of a slashing 2 guard than a point guard.. His long range shot is not good, but so was Gogi s, before he came to PHX :)
His defence is also quite similar to Gorans..

He is all in all a good project to have stashed overseas.. He could be a servicable role player later, when he would join the NBA..
He is little bit "slower" - not as intelligent as his brother, but his attitude and work ethics are still ok..
A lot will depend on this summer, when he will most likely join a bigger team (Slovenian Euroleague representative - Union Olimpija or any other big club in Europe).. He stated, that he would love to play with Goran and that his dream is to play in the NBA..
About Olbrecht - a very very soft pf, that cant play in the paint.. He is also not very mobile..

Well, I fell in love with MIssissippi State this weekend and then they lost in OT to kentucky - I'll you what, I sure liked Dee Bost, and the aforementioned Varnado. I'd love to see us take Garcia and Varnado, although we need another PG to bring along behind Dragic.
Got the Duke/Georgia Tech game on Tivo for later on - I like Duke, from what I've seen.

I'd be cool with bringing him over after a season or 2. No older than 23 though (he's 21 right now isn't he?). As long as him and Goran work out together over the summer he might be able to pick up kinda quickly. Goran's IQ was pretty bad at first too. I don't think it's the IQ so much as the experience and difficulty of the competition.

Concerning Varnado... I'd like him, but I think I'd love Larry Sanders. They look so so similar except it sounds like Sanders is a little better offensively. Still, if we can keep Amare, it'd be nice to have a defender/rebounder to pair him with when Lopez isn't in the game. It seems like that's the way to get the best out of Amare. Either would be good, I just think Sanders would offer more on both ends (plus he's a little taller)

It's tough to tell which picks we have in 2010. The guy that sounds interesting is the Serbian kid Draftexpress has us picking in the second round.

I just hope we do a great job scouting this year, so we can get a diamond in the rough.

I'm not sure how I feel about that guy. I do believe that if we're getting all-starish kind of talent it's gonna be out of Europe, where people aren't scouted nearly as well. I kinda trust our scouts at the moment. I'm not worried about Clark. He's kind of long term but I think he'll come around. Dragic and Lopez have been brilliant. I'm hoping for another good role player out of the second round. Maybe we'll get lucky and land Marcus Thornton.
