I am really intrigued by Seldon. His quickness, strength, hops, and creativity with the ball are all really appealing. I would not be disappointed in getting him. He is just a bull. No one is going to want to get in his way.

I really like how many picks we have in this draft. We could potentially package our later picks to move up depending on where they all fall.

Parker is the full package right now, while Wiggins is still missing a few things
That last play.

He's 1 & done.
I do hope so. Jabari is going to be a special player. He can score with ease in many various ways, has great leadership, can pass and make teammates better and is humble character. Superstar in the making.
Him or Wiggins in PHO, I don`t mind.

I cannot wait until the draft. Haha.
I'm not hating on Alex Len, I still believe he'll be a great player, and hopefully he'll be in the Suns Hall of Fame
but could you imagine if the Suns had drafted McLemore and then Wiggins/Parker. That's a powerful 1-2punch... well maybe. We'll see how their respective NBA careers end up.

He reminds me a bit of Paul Pierce - 'thick' bodied SF who isn't as explosive as other more elite athletes, but not a slouch by any means. Young PP could still get up, handle the ball, shoot, he was (is still) an awesome player

I am sure this guy is high on McD`s draft shortlist given his athleticism, scoring ability in transition and defensive potential. I can see young Iggy in his game.

I agree. He seems like a McD guy. I'm keeping an eye on him this year as well.

This is the link to sephen a smith "anonymously" speaking to one gm.
Heres to quote:
"Our team is not good enough to win and we know it. so this season we want to develop and evaluate our zoung players, let them lear from their mistakes and get us in position to grab a great player."
also:
"Sometimes my job is to understand the value of losing."
I would be willing to bet that this is from our GM talking. The diction looks very simmilar to McD's and we basicly are in same position.
He did say that we will not lose on purpouse, but with a bad roster that we have we won't have to. It totally could be our GM talking. And the clincher: Smith it wearing orange tie and napkin. I like his sense of humour

This is an interesting Pac 12 preview....here is a little piece from it....
http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/989 ... ron-gordon
Best College Player — Jahii Carson (Arizona State)
I know that I just said Dinwiddie would be my pick for Pac-12 POY, but that's more because I think voters will reward him for Colorado having a better season than Arizona State. Carson, however, is significantly better than Dinwiddie, and for my money he's the best point guard in college basketball not named Marcus Smart. He's phenomenal with the ball,2 he has a great feel for the game, and he has no problem sharing the rock even though he averaged 18.5 points per game last year. Carson is the most athletic player in the country, which is a claim that admittedly can't be proved but that I stand by anyway because I want to emphasize what an athletic marvel he is. He can get to the basket seemingly at will, and once he's there he can throw down with the best of them. Arizona State fans don't want to hear this, but if Carson had gone to Arizona he'd probably be a household name right now.
Now that he has a year of experience under his belt after redshirting his first year in Tempe, I expect Carson to be an even better version of former Baylor point guard Pierre Jackson (who put up absurd numbers last season — 19.8 ppg, 7.1 apg, 3.8 rpg). To do that, he'll have to develop his jump shot so he can punish defenders who try to contain him by going under ball screens. But even if he doesn't develop into an outside threat, Carson's explosiveness and understanding of the game should be enough for him to be the most exciting player in the conference. That is, unless …

Watching a lot of ASU basketball the past decade or so...I know its terrible, but Carson has looked more impressive than any other player in his time with the Sun Devils, even more so than James Harden. Very athletic for his size, however being only 5'11 will limit him in some ways.
I don't think he's on the Suns radar at the moment because of Dragic/Bledsoe, but I feel like the kid will be a solid player in the league in the future.

James Young looks like a second coming of James Harden on this video. Another intriguing prospect.

As a Michigan alum and Michigan basketball fan, I've watched a ton of GRIII. Last year he was basically playing SF and PF in John Beilein's more spread out, pro-style, pick and roll offense. Most of his offense came off garbage buckets, fast breaks, finishing at the rim, etc. This year is going to be really interesting as he will most likely be the focus of the Michigan offense (put up 33 pts and 4-6 from 3 in an exhibition vs. Concordia). He's also put on 10 or 15 lbs of muscle (around 220) and his vertical is now measured at 44 inches. So he's got great size and athleticism at the wing.
I would absolutely LOVE to see him on the Suns. With a pick in the 8-12 range where he's projected to go at the moment, it's possible. And he'd be a great consolation prize if the Suns happen to overachieve this year. He's a very high character individual that coaches, teammates, and the community really like representing Michigan. He'd be a great fit in Phoenix, playing defense and bringing elite athleticism. A good, not great shooter. Very aware offensively, moves well without the ball, and finishes well. Great rebounder for his size and position. I think he's exactly the type of high energy, unselfish player that the Suns are looking for. Of course, I'm a little biased...

Re: Tankapalooza: 2014 Draft Thread
Just because of how drafts go, there will be some good players that slip down into the teens where we will have at least one and maybe as many as three picks.
Look at MCW this year. If our scouting staff is good, we should do well there.

Re: Tankapalooza: 2014 Draft Thread
Chad Ford's first mock has us taking Randle, Young, Harris and Christon. Though I don't think he is really in tune with how high we are on Goodwin and he probably thinks we plan on trading Dragic (which many analysts seem to think but I suspect most of those people are not that on top of McDonough's plan).
2Julius RandlePhoenix Suns
COLLEGE: KentuckyAGE: 18HT: 6-9WT: 225POS: PF
Suns' forecast record: 19-63 | 19.9 percent to win lottery
Analysis: Like the 76ers, the Suns feel they have their big man (Alex Len) and their point guard (Eric Bledsoe) of the future. Randle would be a perfect complement to Len on the front line. He's the type of versatile 4 that most teams covet. He possesses virtually every attribute scouts look for in a prospect. The Suns have two other first-round picks (Nos. 18, 25) to fill out the team and are also optimistic about the long-term future of Archie Goodwin. While I don't like the baseline talent quite as much as I like Philly's, the Suns could end up easily rivaling Philly as the best young team in the NBA in another year.
14James YoungPhoenix Suns (via Minnesota Timberwolves)***
COLLEGE: KentuckyAGE: 18HT: 6-7WT: 200POS: SF
Suns' forecast record: 42-40 (for Wolves) | 0.5 percent to win lottery
Analysis: Young is the true wild card of the draft. Scouts have been raving about him in Kentucky's practices, and if he ends up dominating this season the way he has in the preseason, he'll probably move another 10 spots up the board. If he plays more of a supporting role, he lands here. Adding Randle, Harris and Young to a young core that has Eric Bledsoe at the point and Alex Len at center gives the Suns an amazing young talent base to rebuild on.
16Gary HarrisPhoenix Suns (via Washington Wizards)&
COLLEGE: Michigan St.AGE: 19HT: 6-4WT: 210POS: SG
Suns' forecast record: 42-40
Analysis: Harris isn't as accomplished as some of the other prospects here, but he quietly put together one of the best freshman seasons in the country last season, and he did it with an injured shoulder. A great athlete, he can defend and shoot with range. He could end up in the lottery if he ever gets healthy.
25Semaj ChristonPhoenix Suns (via Indiana Pacers)+
COLLEGE: XavierAGE: 20HT: 6-3WT: 187POS: PG
Suns' forecast record: 54-28 (for Pacers)
Analysis: The Suns already are netting a new power forward, small forward and shooting guard in this draft. Why not add a point guard, too? Yes, Eric Bledsoe should be the starter for years to come, but Christon's size and toughness could give welcome depth.

Most likely. I think our biggest need is an athletic combo-forward and this draft is full of them.

If the Suns do get a top 3 pick...
- Randle or Parker
Then package that 3 first rounders to get into pick 7-8 and get James Young.
C: Len
PF: Randle
SF:Young
SG: Goodwin
PG: Bledsoe
Dragic as 6th man.
If Suns get Parker, then instead of Young, maybe get Embid if he drops that far... him and Len can rotate around the PF/C positions.

its funny that by the 4th pick they are just like oh what the hell they can draft one of every position
