Melton is interesting. I like him a lot more than Shamet. He reminds me a lot of Smart. An elite defender that needs a lot of work on his shot and playmaking. Hopefully he has been working on those aspects since he has been out of the NCAA (Because of the FBI probe he missed the entire season). He is pretty much the exact opposite of Shamet, with the only real commonality being that they both are pretty un-athletic.

nbadraft.net has us taking shamet at 16, seems promising given their write up on his BBQiq and turnover ratio, other sites have us taking Aaron holiday. Both worked out for us so at least we are getting a good look, if we do draft a player McD is solid in that mid draft range. Melton is at #33 so there is a possibility of getting either or both

I was about to throw that Smart comp for Melton here too lol
His defensive instincts are CRAZY GOOD, he just frustrates all of his opponents... very similar to what Smart seems to do in the NBA

Pretty much what we need from our PG at this point, I lean towards let Book and JJ have the ball in their hands as much a possible and get a 3 and D guy at PG. Don't need a guy that ball handling dominant next to those two, can bring up Houston and Cp3/Harden but that's a different talent level with CP3.

I think I might be all in one Kevin Huerter at 16. I don't want to see the Suns walk away without a shooter, who is pretty good at defense and a decent passer with a high BBallIQ. A good comp to Klay Thompson. I'm not saying he's Thompson or will get to Thompson's level, but damn it's not that far off and his shooting form is nearly identical with a super quick and minimalist release.

I heard that too, but I thought I heard it from this board. He had good numbers and looked good on film. Looks small, but has a long wing span. He shot over 40 from three all three years and averaged 6 assts and shot 84 from the stripe.

Is he a better defender? I don’t know that much about him. I’ll look him up.
