I'd really like us to go after established forwards like Trevor Ariza and Luol Deng at the right price. Warren could really learn quite a bit from either of those guys.

Chandler Parsons would be really nice here as well but I can't see Houston letting him walk unless they get 'Melo or LeBron.

At PF, Jordan Hill and Ed Davis are both intriguing to me. Jordan Hill more so because I think he will be cheaper and has a bit more range and better defense.

I'm not at all interested in signing another guard since we have so many already. However, if we do trade Gerald Green or something, Jodie Meeks is a guy to keep an eye on as a SG/SF hybrid. Perfect fit for Hornacek.

No Cs please unless its a clear upgrade and we have a deal in place to send Plumlee or Len off somewhere else. Last thing we need is a log jam at C also.

I do like Jordan Hill. And not just because he is an AZ guy. I always thought he was underrated.

This story is developing at light speed and it's quite possible that Kidd already had a deal in place with the Bucks before he went to the Nets with his seemingly outrageous demands to control the organization. In another interesting twist, someone posted this exact scenario playing out on a Nets message board at RealGM.com a couple days ago (including Kidd running the Bucks), and also said that the Nets will next pursue Mark Jackson as their next head coach. While this is purely speculation, two things seem to be quite clear. 1. Kidd will not be returning to the Nets, regardless of what happens with the Bucks. 2. Kidd's close relationship with the new co-owner of the Bucks is a big deal, and it appears that he could very well be on his way to at least the team presidency, and could also end up coaching the team, although reports of whether he would also coach the team are unclear. Stay tuned.

Didnt know where to post this and didnt want to create a separate thread for this, but thought this was hella interesting, specially with the RealGM Forum connection!
yeah kerrsed that whole situation is pretty crazy. As a bucks fan I'm a little concerned the new owners are making a move like this. I dislike Hammond and drew and they need to go but I'm not sure kidd should be the guy.

The realgm aspect is pretty funny. There's a lot of true insiders who post on these forums. And teams and media read whats posted here. This place is without a doubt the best place for NBA information. It's crazy that most of the active boards have a good number of posters who are more knowledgeable about basketball and the cba than most sports radio hosts in their home town. Keep up the good work everybody :)

suns fans should appreciate what we have in McDonough and horny. I think we struck gold with our hires last year and I hope we keep them here a long time and build a system thats bigger than any individual player. That's how you succeed as a franchise in any sport.

1. offer Max for Anthony...
2. offer 4 year 16-17 million a year for Bosh... So he leaves Heat, who is hoping to sign him lower than that.
3. re-sign Bledsoe and Tucker

C: Bosh / Plumlee / Len
PF: Markieff Morris / Marcus Morris
SF: Anthony / Tucker / Warren
SG: Dragic / Green / Goodwin
PG: Bledsoe / Ennis

That team will mingle top 3-4 west and can overcome Clippers, warriors if Melo clicks well.

Gonna throw out an idea that combines some of the rumors and thoughts that have been floating around.

Suns trade:
Bledsoe/Len/Ennis
Suns get:
Lowry/Valanciunas

Valanciunas becomes our C of the future, with Plumlee as the backup. Lowry in theory would be paid less than Bledsoe, which still leaves us PLENTY of cap space to go after more talent.

Raps trade:
Valanciunas/Lowry
Raps get:
Bosh/Len/Ennis

the raps are high on Ennis, and the rumor of Bosh the Toronto for Lowry has be rumored. Here they get a Len as well.

Heat trade:
Bosh
Heat get:
Bledsoe

Bledsoe and Lebron are buds, we all know that. And while they have Napier, he's a rookie. Bledsoe gives them a starting PG that will better serve them in the present. Bledsoe in theory will also command a little less that Bosh, freeing up cap space to round out the roster.

I won't trade Len for Valenciunas yet.. Yet alone add Ennis.

Valenciunas didn't show a lot on his first year and only started to play well last season... Len deserves to be given a chance. And Ennis too.

Lowry would demand salary around 2-3 million within Bledsoe's... Bledsoe can still improve some more however.
And atleast Bledsoe has proven track record to do well with Dragic... Lowry and Dragic played with each other in Houston and they were competitive with each other weren't they? Rather keep Bledsoe and Dragic who meshed well.

Also Would rather go for bigger fish(es).

Lowry is 4 years older than Bledsoe and I wasn't too impressed by Val.. especially not enough to give up on Len for him. That trade is lateral at best and the raptors come away like bandits

I'm not one to be all homer and all but I have a hard time seeing that team just mingling with the top 3 or 4 in the west. That roster is deep as hell and I don't see any team who could compete with that, including the Spurs.

Bosh is interesting. He opted out so that makes it seem he is willing to go back to Miami at a team friendly deal. So, he wants 15-16; what if the Suns offer him the total max - would he take it or stay in S. Beach

Carmelo is going to the Rockets, Bull, Lakers or Knicks. Suns are probably on the outside

Granted - its all rumor now but looking like Ariza or Deng at the SF would be likely candidates; Tucker possibly moving on. I am just not sure the 4 position - Frye is going to get a lot of offers I think - maybe a S&T. And I am okay with that. Don't overpay for what PJ brings if another team offers the full MLE. As for Frye, I think there will be options as some team is going to over pay for his services - Thunder, Warriors, Lakers, possibly Blazers. He has good value

This is a tough offseason for Ryan McD - but I don't think they need to do anything drastic. Stay the course - keep building longer term and don't get suckered into bad deals to do something.

I really like Tucker at the 5 mill price point more than Ariza and Deng at 8-10 mill.

I'll take Green, Marcus, and TJ for $0 additional dollars. That looks like the best deal to me.

My take - I think Deng is the best player and would have no problem paying him the 8-10 range, even if closer to the 10 range

Ariza or Tucker. I probably take Tucker at the 5 over Ariza at the 8plus.

But the Suns need an upgrade at one of the forward positions in terms of a guy who can score the ball in the low post or make a tough shot ; also a guy that demands the double. Just not sure Frye or Tucker is that player. Good complimentary but the Suns to me need a guy who can score it.

I was thinking, at worst Suns sign Chandler Parsons. Trade Gerald Green for Ryan Anderson. Match any offer for Eric Bledsoe. Ryan Anderson is definitely an improvement over Frye, but not by much. He doesn't bang on the inside, but he is a more consistent shooter from the outside, and his mid-range jumper is better as well. Him being younger helps a little but not by much, as both players don't rely on athleticism. I'd rather have a big man who can play in the post but there are hardly any free agents on the market who can do that, and I'm unsure if they want to join the Suns over other markets. I really don't wanna lose Gerald Green as he's a dynamic player of our bench, but with drafting TJ Warren, I feel like we're gonna lose Gerald Green after this upcoming season anyway, and I think we're getting fair value for him.

I have no doubt that Deng is the better player, but he has so many miles on him, and he's almost on the wrong side of 30. I just don't think a contract for him is going to be good-value, especially in its latter years.

Just talking Ariza, Tucker and Deng. Tucker is 29, 30 next spring. Ariza is 28 and Deng will hit 30 next April and just a month older than Tucker. So yes, Deng has the miles. But Suns training staff is excellent. Hornacek might have to play the "Popovich" game for limiting minutes, back to back games. But I think I would rather give Deng 3 for 30 than Tucker the full MLE of 5 for 28.

I think the MLE has become a tool for teams to overpay players. And Memphis, OKC, somebody will give Tucker the full MLE and the Suns, to me, shouldn't match. Same with Frye. Be smart Ryan. Don't pull a Sarver and sign mid tier players for long term deals like Childress, Frye, Warrick and than trade for Turkogu.

I am more than willing to let Frye and Tucker walk; not sign Gasol or Deng or Ariza and get scraps at the end on one year deals in lieu of overpaying for Frye and Tucker. PJ was the heart of the team but I think he can replaced. FRye too-.

@WojYahooNBA: Yahoo Sources: Armed with young talent, assets and max contract space, Suns will pursue a LeBron-Carmelo partnership. http://t.co/aDtL46xUGi/s/uj27

I mean, perhaps this isn't a big surprise, but nice to hear we're doing something

Gotta say, our FO may be the very best at keeping tight-lipped. Coro even said we're affirmatively not interested in Melo (haha, i know).
