Sure, Gallinari had some massive games but he moves like a 45yr old man with chronic leg problems - pass, unless it's for the Mook and Tucker, then I'd do it.

I think LMA leaves for NY now that Batums been traded away and Wes is hurt. The Blazers window will slam shut if LMA leaves. Lillard will turn into Arenas, 30-4-6 every night.

Honestly, I'd throw a LOT ($60m over 4) at Paul Millsap. We need a tough, rugged PF who fits next to Len. He's got 3pt range and is in his prime, perfect fit.

I'd then target Danny Green, something like 4yr $9m-$10m per - see if Spurs match with Kawhi getting a max.

Of course everything changes if we trade Bledsoe on draft night - I'd LOVE Russell, he's gonna be a star.

Would love this team opening night:

Knight / Russell
DGreen / Goodwin
Warren / Granger / GGreen (if he takes a discount)
Millsap / Kieff (he's an ideal 6th man)
Len / Wright

I'd love to get Taj Gibson if we can't land a Millsap or Love or LMA, ideal vet as well and a reasonable contract.

Flame away!

A lot of people like Paul Milsap. I don't. He's slightly better than Markieff Morris. I wouldn't be thrilled if Suns got him.

I don't think there's a very good chance Russell slips past Philly.

I still think we a have great chance of signing Sap, agree he is a great fit here. I don't think we have a great shot at Green but that is somewhat irrelevant with Bledsoe still here.

I think we end up with Lyles at #13, making the twins expendable.

Bledsoe/Goodwin
Knight/ Free Agent (Lou Williams?)
Warren/Tucker
Millsap/Lyles
Len/Wright

If we want a good scorer/ball-handler off the bench (where you've got Lou), why not offer Tucker to LAC for Crawford's expiring?

He'd be instant offence and seems like a good chemistry guy, plus he's got history with Bledsoe.

Seriously!?

Image

Millsap is a two time All Star and even comparing their first seasons as full-time starters (both age 25), Millsap beats him in every category except 3s - and that's not even including offensive and defensive rating which he wins as well. FT% is basically a wash and same with assists. Plus Millsap's been doing that for 7 straight seasons and he's only going to be 30 when the season starts.

Image

The only thing Kieff has going for him is that he'll likely be paid half what Millsap would get - but imagine having both.

Kieff off the bench would be ideal covering the 4/5 for 30min a night, but getting him to buy into that Taj Gibson type role would be the tricky part.

Please someone tell me why this won't happen! Please!

At least we wont have to hear the revisionist talk about how we should have kept the Lakers pick when it's outside the lottery.

Offseason Trade and Free Agency Discussion

Post#230 » by Jdiddy701 » Thu Jun 25, 2015 8:33 am

Tastic, if you ask me to take a 14-18 mil contract Millsap will get compared to Markieff's 8 mil contract, I'm taking Keef all day. Adding Milsap doesn't make us that much better. We still wouldn't be in the playoffs. Don't spend money on a guy like that.

At age 30 compared to Keef at 25, I'm taking Keef. Let's not even talk about how clutch Keef is. Give him the ball in the 4th and watch him go.

Having paid close attention to Millsap on defense but don't think anything really stands out. I don't think adding Millsap will do much to our roster. We are still 9th seed with him.

If the Lakers do swindle the Kings, I'd say it would be for #2 and Clarkson, giving them their PG and C. Then, they sign Wade and Rondo:

Rondo
Wade
Bryant
Randle
Cousins

Gross.

That line up would have problems choosing where to sit on the bus, let alone play basketball.

All fair points for sure - but adding Millsap TO Kieff would be dynamite.

That would be a nice small-ball 4/5 combo for sure.

Kieff isn't a leader either, nor does he rebound or defend. Millsap is good at all 3...Adding Millsap doesn't 'remove' Kieff from the team, or it doesn't necessitate it.

Mook though, he can go. I lost every ounce of respect for him at the Hornacek spat, so there was none left when the beatdown happened.

WWWHHHHHHAAAATTTTTT?

Slightly better?
That is why half the league wouldn't mind getting Millsap and nobody wants to hear a word about getting Markieff, let alone his brother: the shooting twins...

David West anyone? He opted out, could be a good Mentor for the Kieff.. if he could be had for cheap i´d do it.. He is the ruff player we need to add and still has something left

Props to the great one

Absolutely, he's the definitive plan B in case we swing-and-miss for a bigger PF stud. You'd have to think he'd highly consider us given we have Granger and Warren already.

I mentioned on the GB board I've love West here for the right price, but it would have to be bigger than what he opted out of - something like $18m over 3yrs? He's probably going to get one last $25m over 3yr from someone.

At this point in his career though he'll be ring chasing you'd have to think. Could see him going to the Spurs or even Mavericks, but we would have some draw as Vossy mentions with the Granger/Warren connection.

Only just realised Earl Watson was the starting PG for Indy when Granger was crushing it in 2009-10, small world.

Also as others have mentioned, I'd love for Granger to be that Grant Hill type defensive leader/voice. He's been an All Star and he's been elite, others need to look up to him and listen to him.

Im happy to give ALL of Marcus Morris's minutes to Granger (surprising I know).
Granger still has some mileage to give... he's also well rested.
He is a terrific catch and shoot guy and a dangerous mid range shooter when open.

David West is interesting...

I think McD will do what he can to grab a star, if he can do that, he will most likely go for West and Suns will fight for the playoffs.
If he fails in bringing in a star, I can see him trading for picks and even younger players.

On the list of teams Aldridge will consider signing with are the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks and Atlanta Hawks, sources said. Aldridge is actually thinking more and more about a free-agent jump to the Lakers, sources told Stein this week.

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/13145694/portland-trail-blazers-growing-belief-forward-lamarcus-aldridge-leave-team-free-agency

We are not a FA destination, obvious looking the last ten offseasons. We need to trade for our own stars...hopefully McDonough makes some miracle tonight.
