Thats most likely a Morey bluff for whatever reason. As you said, there is pretty much no team that could make a trade for the both of them and make it a trade that would make any kind of sense for both teams.
You are right about Sacramento tho, I'm not sure why Philly didn't jump on a "Haliburton/Hield and whatever" type package, or something like that with Sac, there are a bunch of options there becouse they have 2 bigger tradeable contracts (Hield and Barnes) and a bunch of good young guys. Morey is overplaying his hand as usual, and is wasting a prime Embiid year. That's nuts and I'm pissed if I'm Embiid.

Hield, Barnes, Bagley, Thompson works in the trade machine, and is not completely trash from either teams perspective. Although I think Philly would have to add some draft compensation in this case... Philly gets rid of the 2 guys they want to get rid of. They get stronger on the wings and 3 point shooting which is their goal. Bagley is young enough too. Thompson is a throw in to make salaries match. Sac is set in the backcourt with Fox, Haliburton and Mitchell, they get an upgrade on the wing with Simmons and a replacement for Barnes as well. They do not want Hield or Bagley anyways and Barnes is unlikely to resign there imho. Not perfect, but not much else makes sense out there...
(Also, Philly might have too many players for this, but it might only be the covid replacement guys, so I'm not sure here)
