Wish the draft was tonight instead of three Thursdays from now.

Would rather see the draft than this joke of a Finals series...

I don't think Luka will be more valuable than a traditional PG when it comes to facilitating, so this is just a bonus for a wing. He will need to become a knock down three point shooter to even sniff an all-star game. 37% like I predict is borderline but on a winning team he would definitely make a few.

Sorry to bring up an old post, here, but in what universe was Tatum anywhere near Doncic as a prospect, if we're talking total pkg, here?

Doncic is viewed as quite possibly the most gifted Euro player to ever come to the NBA, while Tatum was consider to be the 1(b) to Jackson's 1(a) as SF prospects a year ago, on most accounts.

I think you are confusing Tatum's rookie success with what he was as a prospect; two different things all-together, IMO.

Yeah. The Logician post is revisionist history. Tatum was seen as a poor man's Melo. An inefficient volume scorer who was inefficient in college and was primarily a 1 on 1 scorer. He improved his shooting a TON over the offseason and suddenly became really good in a system with a fantastic coach and a really good team around him. Nobody could have even projected his main strength to improve so rapidly.

Not everyone saw him that way. He was my top guy for us the entire time. But sure, say what you want.

From the coaching thread, a post from jcsunsfan....and keep in mind Kokoskov has coached Mitchell, Hayward, Gobert, Nash, Amare, Shaq, Grant Hill, the championship Pistons, etc...

Read on Twitter

This is a link to a fascinating interview. Some interesting things about Kokoskov.

"Luka is the most talented player I have ever coached. Not the best, but the most talented."
When asked about Luka off the court, he declined to comment. He said he does not cross professional boundaries with players. He will communicate with them and help them, but he keeps the relationship professional.

BBIQ, talent & experience, Doncic is miles ahead of Ayton at the moment in my opinion. Because Ayton hasn't even sniffed what it means to play pro ball. But potential is something that PHX will bank on i believe. And i think their mindset is that Ayton can bring more good to the franchise than anyone else.

Interesting note... Luka said himself that he speaks with Kokoskov at least once per week. So i'm sure he is helping him out off the court aswell :P

If Doncic falls to No 4 we could do this...
1. Trade Ayton (No 1 pick), No 31 pick for KAT.
2. Trade Jackson, No 16 pick, Bucks pick for Doncic (No 4 pick).
3. Trade Knight and 2020 Suns 1st for Dragic.

Dragic / Booker / Doncic / Bender / KAT

DONCIC is going to suck. Someone make this their signature.

He will avg 13 / 4 and shoot about 30% from 3 point land!

Nothing great. I would rather have Ayton and Jackson !

Scott Bordow NBA mock draft 4.0
1. Suns (21-61): C Deandre Ayton, 7-0, 260, Arizona.
Nearly everyone around the league believes the Suns are drafting Ayton despite the hiring of Igor Kokoskov as coach and his obvious familiarity with Slovenian guard Luka Doncic. Their belief is justified. General Manager Ryan McDonough has said center is a “slightly higher” priority and NBA scouts have compared Ayton with Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid and Minnesota’s Karl-Anthony Towns. At this point, if Ayton’s not the pick, it will be a real shocker.

16. Suns (21-61) via Heat: PG Aaron Holiday, 6-1, 185, UCLA.
After drafting Ayton, the Suns get their point guard. Holiday is starting to move up on draft boards. He shot 43 percent from 3-point range at UCLA, has great bloodlines and proved last season that, without Lonzo Ball, he could capably run an offense while getting his own points. The Suns can use Brandon Knight as a placeholder starter until Holiday is ready.

Why was luka a 6th man for most of Real Madrid's season.

Miles?? Maybe experience wise. Watch Barcelona vs Real from Feb on youtube. Luka makes some nice passes but lets be honest, in the NBA he is not dribbling past any defenders without a screen being made. He settles wayyyyy to much on his step back three. His defense against other point guards and bigs is suspect.

Ayton doesn't have talent ???? He's the best college big man we have scene since AD at Kentucky.

Annnd Ayton would have been much better had Ristic not been cloggling the lane most of the time, if U of A had a good PG, and if they didn't play a **** motion offense.

Your statements beside the experience are all debatable

Kerrsed, when you get the time can you make a more detailed sig with him saying Doncic will suck and will average 13 / 4 and shoot about 30% from 3?

I won’t put it on me but will save the pic for future use. And if homeboy is so confident in his preaching then he should wear it (like you said).

Holiday is such a wild card. One of his brothers is really good while the other one completely sucks. Hard to project how he ends up.

His wingspan is supposedly a cause for concern as well.

Luka was Real's nr1 option since december. How you think he got the MVP trophy? Just because he came off the bench in some games doesn't mean he was 6th option. If you are not from europe it's hard to understand how coaches operate here with their lineups. But he was their nr1 guy whole season.

If you mean the specific game when Real lost by 20 or 30 points vs Barca? That was the time when Luka played only 14 mins and he was benched because he had bad 3 weeks.. Like some others said here "he hit a rookie wall".

When did i say Ayton doesn't have talent? He is extremely talented for a 7 footer. I've seen his highlights. But he never faced real opposition and was never under such pressure.

Such a waste of pick at 16. Would be ok with 31, but I think there will be better prospects available even there.
