Edit: If WCS is there, I would be really tempted to take him. I think him and Len guarding the paint would do wonders for our interior defense and rebounding.

What?.....no, we have to draft a 5 year old with potential so he can be as good as Archie after 2 years, because he was only 18 when we drafted him, just think in 5 years he will be only 10!!

Anaheim, Calif. - I was working late last night and into the morning and had ESPN and/or ESPN2 on to listen to the commentary about Wisconsin’s 64-63 overtime victory over Arizona in the NCAA West Regional title game.

Analyst Jay Bilas offered some pointed comments on the play of center Frank Kaminsky, who scored 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the victory.

“Frank Kaminsky was the one player Arizona could not guard,” Bilas said. “Arizona has been one of the two or three best defensive teams in the country. They’ve been able to guard just about anybody.

“And Kaminsky, with his ability to step away, his ability to put the ball on the floor and drive around a bigger guy…He can get a mismatch and take them down in the post…

“Even when he got the ball and didn’t shoot it he was able to pass it out. And they would move the ball and that’s when they got some open shots.

“If it weren’t for Kaminsky, there’s no way that Wisconsin is moving on.”

Yea....F that old ass role player who also put it down on Kentucky and Duke...... Lets pick someone who hasn't done crap..... And thus Steph Curry goes 7th.

Quick question:

Supposing the top 12 drafted are:

Towns
Okafor
Russell
Porzingis
Mudiay
Hezonja
Winslow
WCS
Kaminsky
Stanimal
Turner
Booker

Who do you think McD takes?

Lyles or Payne or Portis or Dekker or Oubre

Basically, if the draft falls this way, our top 'desired' players--Kaminsky, Turner, or Stanimal are gone...Thoughts?

I think if the board fell this way, it would be about the worst possible scenario for McD, but think he would choose Payne.

I suspect McD is probably in love with a prospect outside the top 12. And I'm hoping that is RHJ. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's Montrezl, Oubre, Hunter or Portis. Don't think Payne is a McD type of guard. Lyles screams 'meh' and that's not what McD favours.

I think I may be the last one on the bandwagon but... I'm sticking with Looney.

And I'm back to where I started on this draft: it sucks.

I've warmed up on this draft. I really like the top 8 guys and then think the next 10 or so are all decent prospects. It's funny most years I have my list of guys I love and hate where the suns pick but this year I really don't feel strongly either way on that next 10 group they will choose from. Unless they take a crazy reach at 13 I'm going to be cool with any of that group.

Continue to hear the #Knicks are considering trading w/ Phoenix for Eric Bledsoe & the 13 pick if D'Angelo Russell isn't there at 4.

Trey Lyles - VOTE FOR ME!!!

""It doesn't matter to me if I'm playing inside or out," Lyles said at the combine. "It just matters on the matchup that I have. If it's a small guarding me, then I'll post him up. If it's a big guarding me, I'll face him up."

That could sound like an empty platitude out of the mouth of a different player, but when Lyles says it, it rings true. He knows how to balance his weight and create space in the post. He's comfortable putting the ball on the floor and pulling up from mid-range. Best of all, he seems to have a great head for the game.

There's no metic to fully capture "Basketball IQ," but anyone who watched Lyles at Kentucky last season saw a smart player. He played aggressive without forcing the action. He wasn't afraid to launch an outlet pass to kick-start a fast break. Often times, if felt like he saw the floor two steps ahead of anyone else."

I honestly have no idea...I was going to say Lyles, but I'm not sure.

I like to look at how they were ranked coming out of high school, because depending on their college situation, they could have been behind super studs and didn't get much playing time or played out of position (Lyles), or may have been really raw as a freshman but still are developing.

If you look at the HS rankings for last year, Oubre was 6th, Looney 10th, Lyles 13. Interesting to look at...D'Angelo Russell was 18th.

http://sports.yahoo.com/basketballrecruiting/basketball/recruiting/rankings/rank-rivals150/2014

If you go back to look at previous year HS rankings, Portis was 15th, and Cameron Payne wasn't in the top 150.

http://sports.yahoo.com/basketballrecruiting/basketball/recruiting/rankings/rank-rivals150/2013

If you go back to 2013, Dekker was 13th (Goodwin was 14th and Warren was 17th)

http://sports.yahoo.com/basketballrecruiting/basketball/recruiting/rankings/rank-rivals150/2012

Thinking about it more, I don't think he takes Dekker, partially because he is a junior, and partially because we have Warren, and I don't think Dekker can play 4.

I wouldn't be shocked if he took Payne, especially if he wants to trade Bledsoe. Oubre might be the guy with the most upside, so maybe, but again, he is a 3, and he took Warren last year.

So my bet would be Lyles or Portis...or he could trade down a bit (someone may REALLY want Oubre, Dekker or Payne there, or even Lyles) and he could still get one of those guys.

I definitely wouldn't count out Looney. He definitely is exactly what we need...great rebounder and good 3 pt shooter. I guess it just depends on the asthma...but if not for that, I think he should be the choice.

Why? What has he shown? Did you not watch his weaknesses on video? People say KG was skinny when he came in....yea muscle and bones this dude is just bones!

Kaminsky dominates Okafor, and balls up Kentucky's front line and yet everyone hates and and dismiss he play.....

Actually he has shown quite a bit, being consistent performer in Spain, playing against much higher level of competition than anybody in the NCAA. There isn't a player in this draft without weaknesses and Porzingis might be as good as any of them.

I don't want the pick if Russell isn't there either. Would rather keep Bledsoe at that point.

Man.. I can already hear a stupid Looney Tunes sound clip playing every time Looney scores or does anything productive. Kinda like that annoying "beep beep" sound clip when Barbosa would score. I hated it, lol. Almost made me not want LB to score, and LB was always one of my favorite players.

This is why I am tired of the #13 picks. Ryan mcd needs to do whatever he can do to get a better pick.

That's a wrong way at looking to the statistics. They should have looked at the 13-60+ range statistics, instead of 13-15. After all, all players who are not picked in 1-12 range are available. It's on the GM to pick the best player after that.

This is the same type of statistics that would say that pick 22 is worse than pick 23 because historically better players were picked with pick 23. Which is completely false, pick 22 is always better.
