Two months ago I didn't see any chance that Hayes dropped to 10, and I still think it's unlikely, but now I see the path:
1. Edwards
2. Wiseman
3. Ball
4. Haliburton
5. Advija
6. Okoro
7. Patrick Williams
8. Toppin
9. Okongwu
10. Hayes

This doesn't seem unrealistic to me. I'm not confident that Jones/Bowers/Sarver would select Hayes here, but I would hope they do.

I really hope they would pull the trigger there. Someone with his athleticism and talent could really be something special after going through a CP3 PG class....he's only 19 too so when Paul leaves Hayes would still be very young.

We (hopefully) won't be picking in the lottery again for a while, and we don't need this player to come in and make an immediate impact. We can afford to wait and let this play develop into a foundational piece for once Chris is gone.

I do love Bane, For his high IQ, strong frame, Solid motor and really elite floor spacing potential. But I'm absolutely inclined to agree with you on this. If things pan out, we won't be anywhere near the lottery for the foreseeable future. So in a trade back scenario wherein we are looking at potentially two picks ( along with additional assets coming back), We should target a high upside investment with our primary pick. Our most pressing need being a backup guard/ PGOTF. In this scenario, I have us targeting Tyrell Terry ( Top of our board). Terry checks every box that Jones values. He has an ultra high IQ, Elite shooting with range, underrated playmaking ability, and is a pesky and tenacious defender. Plan B for our PGOTF (If Terry is somehow gone), Would be Kira Lewis I believe.

And then I have us targeting a wing If we can add a frontcourt wing or big IF we acquire a 2nd pick. For that, I have us targeting Xavier Tillman ( 1st choice). And Tyler Bey ( 2nd choice).

I like Vassell the most but I really think that we are going to be taking Saddiq Bey. I think he is the James Jones/Monty Williams type player who can shoot, play good defense and has been well coached. He has the size to play at power forward and will give us another wing who can switch and shot lights out.

This is who I really like for a Big man option with a 2nd pick. He's the best passing big man in the entire draft, And he's an elite positional defender with a high IQ.

Two high value backcourt options if we go with a big or a wing in the first round:

Basically every mock draft has Isaac Okoro to PHX at #10 after the Paul trade. How do we feel about this?

We'll his offense is pretty bad, But he's elite defensively, AND actually has some underrated ball handling and playmaking ability ( think Iguodala). At this point, With our current roster and keeping Cam, I'd absolutely do it to provide another elite multipositional wing defender for us. Although I seriously doubt that it happens, As we're heavily rumored to be intent on trading back. I'm not happy about his shooting concerns, But again, With Paul, Booker, and Cam we should be ok.

Do you know if we interviewed him or anything? I heard of others but can't remember if I heard about him...not that it necessarily means anything since we heard nothing about Cam last year.

Bey is one of those guys where the eye test says great defender but the advanced numbers say otherwise...at least the basic advanced numbers...but he does feel like a James Jones pick with the length, great 3 pt shooting and a very good passer.

I'd be very happy with him.

Don't like Okoro for us at all. Hunter is like 10x better prospect than him. Could live with Bey, absolutely, but not a top choice of mine, certainly.

You're not wrong! It would definitely be shocking given what we know of James Jones propensity for shooters and playmakers. But perhaps not all that strange, IF the pick is specifically being made for the team that we trade back with? As that particular team may have a need/ desire for such a defensive wing? And we'd simply be waiting to see if someone we liked actually drops to us? Then if not, We initiate the trade back scenario that we have lined up as our contingency plan. But my money is definitely on us moving back to acquire additional assets ( veteran player and possibly an additional pick for low cost depth.

Just an opinion, But I could see us perhaps picking up kaminskys' option ( 5 million) and packaging it in a trade along with Diallo and Okobo/ 10th pick to either of these teams:

Perhaps-
Minnesota, The 10 ( Okoro or Nesmith) + Kaminsky/ Diallo/ Okobo for Okogie/ Spellman/ McLaughlin/ 17/33?

Perhaps-
Dallas, Kaminsky/ Diallo/ Okobo/ 10th pick (Okoro or Nesmith) for Jalen Brunson/ Justin Jackson/ WCS/ 18/31?
Or they may just swap equal salary of our package for Delon Wright ( gets them off Wrights deal a yr early). And they get to move up into the lottery, Or have us pick Okoro or Nesmith for them. Drlon Wright would give us a decent backup guard with defensive ability that would still expire in 2022, The same time as Paul's contract. Or perhaps we even just swap it out with Kleber if possible ( matching salaries)? :dontknow:
** Both teams could really use a cheap floor spacing backup 4/5 in Kaminsky. And could also use some size ( Diallo).

Hope you’re right because I don’t love it either. Would rather Vassell or a PG or at least someone who can shoot. Unless you can sell me on Okoro becoming the next Isaac...

The Ringer (O’Connor) and SI (Woo) both have Okoro to PHX based on latest intel
