Still a cool image though!

I didn't watch him play for the Lakers, but 100% (since I live near Portland) I saw him with the blazers a lot. He wasn't the Carmello you think of from 10 years ago. I don't think you're seeing KD and CP3 sing his praises for the sake of memories. He was big time off the bench for Portland. Again, I don't know where he's at right now but if he got 80% of what he had with the Blazers he's still a solid piece.

From the outside, it kinda looks like Monty has him on kind of a short leash and doesnt trust him over our other wings atm. It seemed like he got quick subs immediately after making mistakes during short stints on the floor on multiple occasions to me. I dunno, small sample and probly way off base.

Source: The Sixers have inquired about Will Barton, who is still going through the process of deciding where he will play this season.

Yeah, but he confirmed it would likely be on the road trip, which ends March 5th. So there is a lot of leeway there. And with the "likely" and not "definitely", all bases are certainly covered. lol

You guys continue to diss Flex for no reason. I don’t get it. Just ignore it if you have a problem with his tweets. I was skeptical at first too but he’s done enough for me to trust him. Is he a Woj or Sham, no but still gives information that us fans would not know. Same with Gambo.

I talked to someone who works for the Suns recently (not saying who, don't care if people want to believe it). Flex is legit. The sources he has goes well beyond "he knows Booker's brother".
As you said, if people don't like/trust him, move on. Wasted posts knocking him at this point.

Ish is trash! Ayton is our top 3 . Dude is a stud! Everyone just wants him to make highlight dunks, because they dont understand basketball

I don't understand basketball... just watch it on TV. Sometimes in person. Basketball is fun.

I suspect that Ayton gets crushed because of his lack of effort and heart. It's the little things that he does and doesn't do. You know... like when he doesn't box out or rebound. It would be super cool if he tried harder and pushed the little guys around. Maybe he can anticipate a jump shot and position himself better on the offensive side? To me, it seems like Ayton is always 8 feet from the basket and being boxed out by the opposing teams back-up point guard.

Better screens would be nice... I think it is year 5 for Ayton and he screens like a matador. WOOOSH. "Hey look I'm open!" Oh wait... I set a weak ass screen and the defender is still on you so you can't pass me the ball.

For someone who doesn't understand basketball, can someone explain to me why Ayton looks like he is afraid of contact? It seems odd for someone who is 7 feet 270lb.

I guess it's not just about the dunks... although a dunk every now and then would be an improvement over that dumb ass surprised look he gets when he is wide open under the basket. "whoa... lookie here! There's nobody around me... I better lay it in before somebody finds out... oh... whoops... I missed."

Ayton is good enough, the thing is that he COULD be great... and he isn't... and he doesn't have any plans or ambition to be great. I personally question his heart, work ethic, competitive fire and motivation. Ayton thinks he is good enough which isn't good enough for this basketball fan.

I try putting myself in a player's position when playing rec league ball.
I'm a 'big man' (6'5") and there are some matchups where I am intimidated by who's guarding me or who I guard. Some where I feel super energized and will crash the glass every chance I get or run hard with the offense to exploit people slow to get back.
Other days, I'm super sluggish and don't want to be bothered or feel lost on the court.

Unfortunately, it's not easy to get up for every game and while guys like Tucker and Butler seem to always be ready, other guys won't. DA seems to be the type that needs the motivation. When CP3 joined the team, Ayton started slow and, little by little, improved his production and effort through the year.
With KD coming in, I fully expect us to see 2nd half & Playoff DA from 2021. Knowing who is on his team and what will now be expected of him, that should motivate him more than ever.
Ayton will learn more from KD then he ever did with Paul. I think he will be open to KD's style much more.

Man the snow here in Beaverton/Hillsboro was the most I seen since I been here. Yeah Melo was a nice addition to the Blazers bench. I really don't think Suns need another wing player like him though.

Yeah, but, as you know, it's all about the current 'discussion interest' topic, and heck DA is on contract, for another, what is it, 3 seasons after this? But we are all a bit antsy about who is going to take that last open roster spot, and, well, Ish is probably about as good as we can expect, considering his size, and apparently, a whole-lotta-worry about our bigs, and how they'll match up in a couple of months, and Ish fits 1 of 2 apparent position concerns--PG and 'Bigs'.

That said, I'd love to kick the tires on Stanley Johnson, and see if this career year he was having was just a fluke, or if he could be really, finally, be 'getting it', if you know what I mean...

45% 3PT and EFG% over .600, even if it's just 30 games at 15 mpg...

Figured there would be intense practice. Just to work on chemistry. The team has a LOT of work to do and not much time to do it.
It's why you hear Suns media people talk about how beneficial it'd be to get an 'easy' matchup in round one. To work on chemistry while getting through round one.

Can't say it's not a disappointment. Been looking forward to it since we traded for him assuming it would be the game after AS break. But as long as they build chemistry and he doesn't reaggravate his injury, it is what it is. Hopefully for Sunday against the Bucks, we'll need him.

I'm not disappointed. I don't think I was realistically expecting KD to play in this game. End of Feb/early March sounded more realistic. I am a bit disappointed Payne is questionable still. Seemed like everything was pointing towards his return in this game

I think Payne will end up playing even if he is listed as questionable. I'm just more disappointed because I've been looking forward to it and we've been lacking basketball for the past week.

Meanwhile these billionaires fly across the world multiple times a week leaving a carbon footprint bigger than ill ever leave in 40 life times... yea :D
