I will no longer take any users seriously that suggest trading Bender, Warren, Booker, or Chriss for a player over the age of 25.

Embrace the tank.

Embrace the process.

Enjoy the fact that our young guys all seem to have high character.

A trade sending Bledsoe to the Kings is now more likely then the Kings sending Boogie here.

And I'm OK with that...for the right price.

Closest they've been to the postseason in a while, pressure is on them now to hold onto that spot.

Dragic would probably help them more than Bledsoe, but I just don't see anything they have that either us or Miami would want.

Don't have their pick to offer this year, just a bunch of young bigs, and the rights to son of Bogdan.

They ask him point blank about the fans wanting to see the kids play. I didn't particularly like the end of the interview where he basically said he's comfortable seeing Bender about a quarter a night (12 minutes.)

I'll take a quarter a night over what we've mostly got as of late, which is DNPs. Hopefully though, after a few more weeks, we have traded a couple of vets to clear out playing time in the rotation.

Also... "We're only 5 Gamez out of the playoffs."
Just stop, Ryan. Let it die.

It's already been stated that we have no interest on anyone from the Kings. They can't even trade first rounders for like 5 years.

Bledsoe for Hayward... Hayward is FA. Play Hayward as PG.

Booker + Heat pick 2018 for Bulter

Knight + Len + Tucker for Draymond Green + Looney

Suns
C: Chandler / Bender
F: Green / Chriss / Looney
F: Warren / Bender
G: Butler / Hayward
G: Hayward / Ulis

It's not though. If the Kings don't have enough to get Knight, how the hell would they get Bledsoe? I am okay with us moving Bledsoe, but I see that as very unlikely. I think we end up moving Knight and Tucker this year though. Regardless, any trade with Sac would HAVE to be a 3 team one. I do like Skal on our team though. He'd be an interesting piece. I'd also love to squeeze a future pick out of Sac. No way they end up good with Vlade as GM.

I feel like I'm missing something everytime I look at Smart's stats. I wouldn't trade the Miami pick for him. Miami is going to bomb if they don't hit a couple major home runs in FA. Winslow is a few years away and Whiteside is a paper tiger.

I'm not sure if you are drunk or not.

a.) Hayward is NOT a PG
b.) why trade for Butler when we have Warren
c.) GS would have to renounce Len in order to resign both Curry and Durant....so basically this would be Knight/Tucker for Green/Looney, and THAT is terrible for GS

I love how, after all the bad spending teams had over the summer, our 'bad contracts', aren't so bad anymore.
We have to make sure we make the right moves when trading these guys. We're only going to get one chance at this.

Yea this bothers me too. It's one thing if we were above .500 or playing well. We're 5 games behind a team that is 4 games under .500. It'd be a major setback if we snuck in and instead of being a low to mid lottery team, we'd get the 15th pick. It'd be another bad setback, just like how we missed out on the Wiggins draft.

Hayward would also walk this summer and why would the Bulls trade Butler for Booker? Booker's been awful.

Look, die hard NBA & Suns fans know what is going on here. However, he can't just go on the radio and say, "We suck. We're going to play a bunch of rookies so we can lose and get a high pick." You saw what happened to Hinkie when he flat out said that. Empty arenas and a record that cost him his job. We know what's up. Don't pay attention to too much of McDonough's GM speak.

What bothered me was when he talked about minutes distribution and said he was comfortable with Bender earning only 12 minutes per game for now. I think he should be given more time.

Yes, he says it because he knows some fans are still hoping for it. I agree it's ridiculous but at least I understand. If he is still saying it two months from now it will sound even more ridiculous. You can't make it sound like you are giving up. I probably wouldn't say playoffs though. I'd say we will keep fighting and it looks like our rookies are coming along and can help in that regard.

I get the "GM speak" part of why he says it but I still wish he would stop. I actually wonder if there are "casual" fans who are sitting there saying 'you know I'm going to go to/watch this game because they are only a few games out of the playoffs'. I kind of doubt it. I think rebuilding teams make the mistake of assuming they can appeal to casual fans while insulting the intelligence of the hard core fans and actually do more harm than good. IMO casual fans won't give a **** until this team is actually good; we saw this that 48 win season where attendance was still pretty poor. I think it would be better to cater to the hardcore fan during a rebuild; really emphasise your young guys. IMO the Sixers problem wasn't that they were too honest it was that they kept taking injured young guys so instead of rolling out a young fun team they were playing d-league guys. And even then the really hardcore sixer fans were fine with it and were pissed when Hinke got pushed out.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Marcus Smart is playing 30 minutes per game on a playoff team. Brad Stevens is not crazy.

He is 22 years old and he is a very VERY good defender. If you go to the Celtics board with that offer they probably are gonna say "no, thank you" because they value him a lot.
