Pitino must have really hooked Dickie up with some ladies or something..

He's not an incredible athlete but that Duke game showed how good he can be when he's aggressive. He has the physical tools to be a two-way player which I think is pretty thin in this draft.

Cam Reddish has really sucked. He's getting exposed like Nassir Little.

Here's where I'm at right now:

Tier 1
Zion

Tier 2
Barrett
Culver
Hachimura
Alexander-Walker

Tier 3
Hunter
Clarke
Morant

If we go for someone who projects as a 4, I want a shot blocker/defender who can hit the 3. He can hit the 3, but does not block shots, rebound, and probably isn't a particularly good defender. Not a high steal rate which is usually a good indicator and not a very good rebounder.

Zion, then Morant, are the guys for us imo. If both taken and Barrett is still there fine, but Morant has great athleticism, court vision, and his FT shooting has turned respectable and his projected NBA 3 % is now 35%, which is not good but is still somebody you have to guard. That is really his only weakness right now. His turnovers are a bit high but not compared to his assist totals and usage.

Ran the Tankathon mock.....weird how we have the same chance (Percentage wise) as the Cav's, yet it took me 27 tries to hit #1. Cav's showed up #1 like 6 times. Tankathon is working with the NBA to prepare everyone for the Zion to Cleveland lock as payment for Lebron leaving.

Makes perfect sense, I personally figured, that we'd land at number 2 or 3 for awhile now.....So who do we like at after Zion at 2 or 3?

Or at that point, do we trade it for a premiere vet? And who should we take a long, hard look at if we do decide to trade our pick? :-?

Damn we need Zion for sure!!! But the NBA gifting Cleveland with him would just be all too typical,,,,,, :nonono:

Zion or Morant are my picks. Hachimura is intriguing

I’m already embracing the backlash against taking Barrett but he’s the clear cut number 2 in this draft to me. I don’t care that we already have young guys at his position. Put him next to Booker and you have two high level creators with good size and strength.

I definitely agree, If we Land outside the top 3 0r 4, At that point, I think that you definitely have to with Morant at that point. But say we land at #3 0r 4......Do you at that point, look to trade the pick and move back, and stil hope to get morant from another team, But with added assets? Or do you just draft him, right then and there? :dontknow:

I would draft him at #2. Only Zion above him.

That's kind of the way that I'd be leaning too, Unless I see something profound from Barrett or Reddish before the draft.

This is Arizona third highest rated incoming recruit. Looking like KD out here.

Well, at best, we have a 14% or less than a 7/1 chance in getting him. I wouldn't rely on that.

Honestly, i'd trade our pick if its not #1. Use that to grab a star player. I agree with you on Morant, best PG in the draft and he really isnt that good. Dont need yet another rookie PG trying to lead the team.

Question is, who do we realistically target with the #2 pick, assuming we land there?....aside from " Pie in the Sky dreams," Obviously we don't have enough assets to trade for Durant, pillard, No chance at Davis!!!

So does anybody have any idea who is the most realistic target come draft time if you had to guess?....Also Irving wouldn't come here, is Beal actually a possibility IF we could include a top 3 pick?........Just trying to figure with big time player that our assets could realistically get us close to value wise??

Can you keep questions about who we should pick in the draft thread? We are all watching the game. In my opinion it is WAY too early to know...we have most of conference play still to play.

Sorry about the misunderstanding Bgood, What I was asking about was not who we should draft, But who we should or could trade the #2 pick for..........That's why I mentioned players like Durant, Davis, Damian Lillard, Kyrie irving, etc....

That what I was asking about.....the value of the top 3 pick, added to whatever assets we would put together into a trade for a big time talent, and which premier veteran player would be most realistic for us to target, given the value of the assets that we could have come draft time...

For example, with the assets we currently have, and a possible top 3 pick in the draft, is that enough value for a player with the value of Beal, or Irving, or Lilliard?......

Obviously we don't realistically have enough assets to match value in a trade for a player such as Anthony Davis, Or Durant, I'm sure.....

So basically I'm asking what is the best caliber talent that our total assets( with a possible top 3 pick added in) get it close too?

Sorry for any confusion Bgood.
