I think I'm really going to love watching Ricky play.

Feels like Ayton indirectly slams Holmes and Igor when he says stuff like he's never had anyone to really go at him in practice or he's never had a coach who is really on him.

Who was that fool talking about Mikal not adding weight this summer? Dude's bulked up for sure.

That would be me, bro. That's just camera wizardry. DA looked like David Robinson under that camera light.

Yeah it seems like Ayton and Igor never clicked or communicated well. At least it seems like he's taking well to Monty though.

Phoenix suns bigs, Ayton, Baynes, Saric, Diallo, big Frank, I like it. Excited to see Oubre's energy from jump. A scrappy guard like Tyler Johnson off the bench, no more bitches like Bender, Chris's, Josh and the every year disappearing act that is RIP GIRLFRIEND!!! aka Warren, this feels like a real team.

The vets we had ala Chandler, Ariza, crawford, warren never showed and respect to Igor, seemed like they didnt like him. Hell, Crawford seemed like the only competent and LISTENED to coach down the stretch late in a few games. That has to rub off on the young guys, Igor couldn't reach them. There has to at the very least be a small fire in the heart of all that smoke?!?!

I'm sorry, but weren't you basing your assessment off a picture? You know, taken with a camera? Why weren't the cameras as magical last year?

T&T talked about him bulking up too.

Josh Jackson said he gained 10 lbs of muscle last year. Looked exactly the same and didn't do diddly-squat. Mikal claimed he gained 9 lb of muscle this offseason. Look damn near similar to last year.

Well Josh Jackson came out his rookie year looking like a paperclip contorted into the shape of a man. He could have added ten pounds and still looked too skinny to play. In any case, I don't remember much discussion of Jackson's added weight.

Ultimately, we're just disagreeing about what we see so it's cool, GB.

It's usually not all that noticeable when you add 9 lbs of muscle if you are already lean, particularly on such a long body. Most of it is probably in the core which you wouldn't see.

It looks like Oubre will be our starting SF.

IIRC Monty said something like that our bench has a lot of depth and we have players like Baynes, Jerome and Tyler that can play PG and wings like Mikal and Cam.

Then Monty was asked about what he thinks about giving the ball always to Rubio to start a break or transition play, and he said that if Booker or Kelly get the rebound it would be better to start the break themselves.

A lot of excitement around Rubio and Jerome.

James Jones looked TRULY happy about the PG position. He said a lot of great things about Rubio and Jerome... one of the most important for him is that both are born leaders.

They talked about working Jerome on and off ball in practice. Monty (I think it was Monty) told a story of how Ty won all five of his games one day with Deandre, and then all five the next day without him, with some friendly competitive words being exchanged between them. I'm thinking we might have gotten reeeeeeally lucky with that BOS trade. I bet Jerome starts the season in the rotation as the fourth guard and moves up to third guard as the year goes on, barring injuries. He might even play third guard right off the bat, if all these bits of evidence are to be believed. (Did anyone else catch that podcast where they interviewed his dad, who said that his mindset is to be one of the greats??)

I'm guessing Cam will only be a situational player on the outside looking in, at least to start the year, as the tenth man. Don't see him getting substantial minutes unless there's an injury to Oubre or Mikal. Sure is nice not having to bet on our rookies to win games.

Sure is nice to have veterans in front of rookies so that if they do get playing time it's well deserved.

I have to agree. I liked what I saw from in the offseason playing pick up ball and his shot looked good, his passing looked solid and I liked his ball handling abilities (which was a bit of a surprise). I feel like expectations with Jerome is low because of where he was picked so he really only has one direction to go and that's up.

Not sure about Holmes because it sounded like they went at it every practice according to them both and they were both really pushing it each other so it's probably more of an Igor thing. Even then I think we handled his development just fine last season as evident by his stable production on offense but more importantly, improving defense as the season went along. The focus of getting those vital big man skills(defense, rebounding, high % buckets) right were all there last season when he was playing under Igor to different degrees but I did like that Igor kept him in check and kept the focus throughout the season.

I'm fine with Monty changing things up a bit
