Came here for some Suns talk.

Instead I see "Climate Change". My god man. I get everyone has their opinions, but it would be nice to get away from all the hot button "virtue" topics.

I look at it like this, I'm not waiting on the out of touch, and selfish few (billionaire/trillionaires) to get off their ass to tell me it's time to do something. If that's what we're waiting for, nothing will ever get done. If we waited for the billionaire class to do something about minimum wage, there still wouldn't be a minimum wage. If we waited for the billionaire class to do something about protecting the environment so I have clean water to drink and clean air to breathe, I'd be living in a smog town.

Absolutely agree! I've been deeply hoping their back in forth's in practice (Ayton vs Durant) as well as his dominant influence will ignite a competitive fire in Ayton that was often dormant! being around him so much maybe his mentoring cumulatively along with Paul and Book (all of their cumulative competitive intensity) can mold him into the more dominant big man we've needed him to be?

I honestly can't go that far. It's year 5 and if it's still dormant, I'm not gonna put money on him finding that fire even if it's Prime MJ on the team. I will say this though, the game has just become that much easier for him now that KD is on the team. Double teams will come slower and from further away, he'll have another 7fter next to him that will stretch the floor and not be in his space, it's another guy who arguably has a longer reach than even the long arms of Mikal to cover the team's defensive mistakes and it's another guy that would take the heat from fans/media before it goes to DA. This might be the best thing to have happened to him (aside from getting that max contract)

From the outside, it kinda looks like Monty has him on kind of a short leash and doesnt trust him over our other wings atm. It seemed like he got quick subs immediately after making mistakes during short stints on the floor on multiple occasions to me. I dunno, small sample and probly way off base.

That would explain the limited minutes so far. But it also wouldn’t bode well for his place on the team if Monty doesn’t view him as a plug-and-play contributor - hopefully he’ll have worked out some of the issues over the break to be able to stay on the floor.

Hard to know exactly if it's minutes restrictions or just lack of trust but I would probably just lean the latter. Monty's never worked with TJ before and given TJ has played less than 30 games after being away from the game for over two years, it's probably not a bad thing to be cautious. We also have good options like Ross, Okogie and Craig at the wings so I don't think right now we need to max TJ out on the floor.

Nice of the NBA to let the Suns play the Thunder on second night of back to back for them coming off the All Star break.

That’s fair from the standpoint of in-game decision-making, but I’d think the team also needs to figure out fairly quickly where he fits in for roster construction. The upside is a plus starter who would be worth some investment of time and reps - but if he’s not going to be a positive player this season, he’d figure to be at the top of the list of potential cuts if another potential contributor shakes loose on the buyout market.

Ayton os putting up 23ppg 60% FG and 10 rebounds a game. And you still want him to change to be more aggressive.. when it's just not his personality. Ayton is a chilled dude. Horford, Marc Gasol, Paul Gasol, old Tim Duncan like... he's not Giannis nor Shaq... and he isn't going to become a flopper like Embiid.

I don't foresee another buyout guy with the upside of TJ. Only guy I can think of is Melo who might have the same offensive upside as TJ. Or maybe a guy like Barton could get hot but we already have a Barton type in Ross. TJ has a niche in that he's a low usage, high efficiency scorer who can also rebound, that's pretty unique and worth keeping around even if he doesn't play more than say 10-15mpg. Rotation wings are a scarcity and we've got a decent one in TJ, we just need to work out how he fits.

It's definitely going to help but his time, like with Bridges, where they had to struggle being the guys, and had their struggles has paid, off, as you can see in the stats in his last 10 games with no KD. He has regularly been shooting in the high 60-70-and sometimes 80% range, scoring 20-35 and getting 11-15 rebounds most every night. He did have one really really bad rebounding game that pulled down that avg a lot but still averaging 10+. Already been playing great just that the starters were back instead of having to try and carry things with Bridges and have to be the only guy outside of Bridges the D focused on all, already helped...and got him back to his best...and playing well defensively too.
