Saberestar - I wish I could give you 10 and 1's for the Mora clip lol. I think of this rant every single time McD brings up that word... I realize he would probably never go on their radio show again if they did it but oh my would it be funny if they used this drop next time he brought it up. Heck I would settle for the radio guys simply asking him if he believed making the playoffs would be the best thing for this franchise and maybe bring up what he said when he took over the GM job about the middle being the worst place to be as an NBA franchise.

You mean you don't trust what he says to be true? Is this considered lip service? Double speak?
Can we trade you for two first rounders? :-?

i will try to muster patience with this GM, up to the trade deadline. same goes for Coach Feelgood.... but time will come when both need to be held responsible for their actions/inactions by the softballing Phnx media.

Frank - honest question what would you consider a good deadline for McD? I know you've mentioned cousins before but from all reports it doesn't look like Sac is going to make him available. Do you think there's a young "star" that could be got because I just don't see it. Would you be happy if they were simply able to sell off some vets like Tucker, Chandler, and maybe Bledsoe?

I'd like to think Sarver is kept in the loop on players who we can and can't acquire.
Chicago will aim to compete while they have Wade there. So I don't think, even if we offered Booker and our 2017 unprotected first, that we'd land Butler.
The Kings are in the playoff hunt. No chance they are trading Cousins.

I also don't believe the Clippers will deal Griffin. He's still a big part of that team and he'd be more valuable to them as a trade asset after he gets an insane max deal this summer.

McD is doing what he can. He tried for LeBron and Aldridge and neither worked out. He's either going to severely overpay for a star, via trade, just to get a star, and then, when the team is horrible the following year or 2, he'll get fired. Or, he continues to be patient and picks his free agent/trade/draft battles wisely.

It's really up to Sarver with regards to what the future success of this franchise will look like.
We were upset when trading the Lakers pick and we don't know if that'll even be a good pick. Imagine losing a pick like this years, simply because of our owners impatience.

Definitely. Another thing to keep in mind is that the new CBA rules on extensions are going to make it even harder to acquire a star player via free agency and trade. The best route has always been and still is to home grow your own star players and use trades and free agency to compliment them once they get good.

I am not sure I am a fan of a blow up yet. I would rather wait until I know what pick we have and then blow it up with direction. I tried to think of a scenario that would be both plausible, and "too good" not to pass up before the trade deadline.

After a bit of thought.

Bledsoe and Chriss to Washington for Wall
Knight, Tucker, Warren and a protected future first if needed for George

2016 Finishes with
Wall/Ullis
Booker/Barbosa
George/Bender
Dudley/Bender
Chandler/Len

2017 draft best available (most likely a PG) but if a SG or SF still ok

2017
Insert draft pick into line up working on coaching work on 2018 Free agency.

2018
With the right plan, a good free agent signing, and a little luck, I could see George and Wall both extending. The 2018 free agent would see that as well. Wall, George, Booker, Bender, (2018 Free agent Center or Power Forward)

It has the potential to have 3 stars locked up and rules that will allow for Booker to resign and the Bender shortly after.

2018 Draft around 15 to 20ish
2019 Draft 2 first rounders ours 15 to 20ish and Miamis 10 to 15ish

Might work well for everyone.
We need more “Shazam!” and less“Heartbreak Hotel”.

I don't know about a time frame Week.... but I am about to not care. McDuh just can't afford anymore mistakes, and he needs to pick a true direction.

Why do people think the Bulls are going to trade Butler? They are young just like us with a young star, and another all star they just signed for a couple of years. Wade even said this is Butler's team.

And what does gutting our team for Butler leave us with?

And when people mention "blow it up" that's not usually a term used with a team with the worst record in the league and who has a future core comprised of some of they youngest guys in the league.

We have been blowing it up every year and getting younger and younger with high upside draft picks.

You arent...it's just craziness. Honestly, i'd rather have MCW than Smart, and he could be had for a 2nd.

Marcus Smart is playing 30 minutes per game on a playoff team. Brad Stevens is not crazy.

He is 22 years old and he is a very VERY good defender. If you go to the Celtics board with that offer they probably are gonna say "no, thank you" because they value him a lot.

A guy who is a career 36% shooter is not worth a good C and a potential lotto pick. I'll openly admit that i dont watch the Celtics nor the Bucks last year but:

Smart this season
29.7 mpg - 10.9 PER
9.7/4.0/4.3
1.24 Steals
0.38 Blocks
36.3% from the field

MCW last season
30.5 mpg - 14.0 PER
11.5/5.1/5.2
1.74 Steals
0.76 Blocks
45.2% from the field

After putting up those numbers Williams was traded for Tony Snell. I would really like someone to explain how Smart has SO MUCH more value.

I think people on this forum forget that McD has an actual job. Right now he is not getting it done.

I'm with you bwgood. The next time someone posts a Butler and/or Wall trade scenario they are going on my blocked list.

I would legit trade every vet on our roster for Miles Turner. Help Indy win now.

Bledsoe/Knight/Chandler/Len/Tucker for Turner and garbage filler.

Draft a PG with our lottery pick

Lottery pick/Ulis
Booker/Barbosa
TJ/Dudley
Chriss/Bender
Turner/Sauce

Rebuild the right way. One more year of tanking. One more high pick. Then we sign some free agents and try to compete again.

WTF he's not Paul George. Bledsoe and Len both have quite a bit of value. Even Chandler to some degree.

Ask Indy fans his value and they probably put him right up there with Paul George. He can defend the rim as well as Noel, but he has a post game and sweet 3 point shot. He has the same skill set as Embiid but without the injury history. He's legit.

If the playoffs started today, we'd have the 5th pick and 7th pick.

Errrrr...the 5th pick and Brandon **** Knight. :banghead:

Those are all worthy trades but the other teams wouldn't do them.

You won't find much positivity around anything during that time. Some of us were trying to be optimistic, but it was tough.
