He's a big question mark in my book.
He was supposed to be a top tier player in next years draft, but decided he couldnt wait. In a way he is too young and too old at the same time. Old for a player that should just be entering college, but young as not having that much experience and ZERO college experience, so he will be a huge project, lacking behind others in many developmental departments.
He is better suited as a SG, yet only has the height/size of a PG (6"3;183lbs) Thats only like 3lbs heavier than Young. While he is super athletic, thats what he has been living on. While he has a great wingspan and standing reach, his play on the court really doesnt show it or take advantage of it.
Pretty much he is going to be a huge long term project. He needs to learn the game better, needs to work on his stroke, needs to work on playmaking skills, needs to work on defense.
I was intrigued in him at first (5 star recruit), but i dont think we have the time or the patience that it will take to properly develop him. In my eyes his current ceiling is right around D'Angelo Russell. Using Athleticism to attack the basket, kind of a streaky shooter, will have to transition to being a shoot first PG rather than a SG, if he improves on those aspects you have Russell.

I want Troy Brown.
But 16 seems maybe a little soon, but I doubt he's there at 31.

If he's there at 31 he might be worth a flyer. Then just stash him in the gleague for the entire year.

It's funny...two posts below yours I look to see the mocks Kerrsed posted...not that they have any real idea of what teams are thinking, but of course in two of the mocks, Oboko goes 18th to the Spurs, and in one, 21st to Utah (who obviously is good at targeting prospects)....and in the other two mocks...he falls out of the first round.

I just think there are too many good players at 16 to take him. If he fell to 31 great, but can't see it at 16. And even at 31, it would be hard for me to take him over Shamet or some others who MIGHT fall to there.

I hadn't really looked at Okobo before this week but after doing some research he seems like an intriguing relatively high upside choice. SGA is my preferred PG in this draft if they can't find a vet to trade for but if none of that materializes then I'd be fine with Okobo at 16.

Yeah, I have both of those guys ahead of Holiday, though each is more of a gamble.
I can't get over Jevon Carter. I don't understand why he's not being considered for the first round. I get that he's only 6'1", but so is Pat Bev. 6.6 AST to 2.6 TO; 39% from college 3 and 86% from the line, so it's not like his offense is a negative.... what am I missing here?
I take Jevon at #31 pretty much no matter what if we don't trade the pick. Assuming neither Shai nor Smith drops to #16, I'm more inclined to deal that pick unless Okobo tore it up in our workout.

You like him more than a guy like Skake Milton?

Oh yeah. Shake's got good size, but he underperformed athletically at the combine, and I didn't see anything that stood out to me from his clips that made me think this is an NBA player for sure. Carter shut him down in 5-on-5 at the combine.
Carter will give you elite defense. Unclear what Shake will give you at the next level.

Re: The #16 and #31 Discussion Thread
One person that could be interesting is Devonte' Graham. Sure he is a bit undersized, but still a hell of a defender, great facilitator, and very effective at scoring. Downside? OLD! Already 23 Years old, so no super upside ceiling. Already has a built in repertoire with Jackson as well.

Points, Assists, rebounds, DEFENSE, and already developed and seasoned at 23 years old, seems like he would be a solid 2nd round pick for us (Late 2nd).

I'll defer to darealjuice on that one. He probably watched every single one of his games.

He's got a Van Fleet comparison (Which i know plenty of people around here were/are interested in), but he's an inch and a half taller than Fred and also about 6 months younger as well.

Well since Mitchell Robinson hasnt been heard from, his stock on mocks has been dropping. But i still believe that he got a promise already and probably from the Lakers.
Kevin Huerter Stock has really risen. Was considered a mid 2nd round pick and almost went back to college, now most mocks have him going in the 20's.

Maybe Donte Divincenzo's stock has risen...it basically started shooting up near the end of the tourney and especially in the championship game.

I think that's where the buzz began, but that he really impressed at the combine. And once it was rumored that Ainge had an interest, that gave further credibility to his ascension.
Milton and Shamet seem to have been dropping. Khyri seems to be dropping in several mocks. Shai and Zhaire a bit as well. Aaron Holiday seems to have moved up a bit.

huerter is projected as Kyle korver type...
But if he has high confidence which suggest he does based on he is willing to take on defendera of all sizes... He could be a poor man'a Klay.

I think that's a tough question because from about 15 to 40 there's no consensus on the order of those players. Guy vary wildly from draft site to draft site in that range.
