Yeah, it is nice, but you can't say he isn't letting guys get to the rim at will. Also, per 36...ORTG, DRTG

Cool! 5th year Len on a better team coming off the bench playing against the other teams bench for 20 minutes was slightly better than Aytons first 23 games in the NBA.

I'm just saying, people were whining about Len a lot last year. But Ayton is playing similarly with worse defense, rebounding (at least per 36) and shot blocking. Still great for a rookie to get a double double, but it doesn't make him a good defensive player.

It's not all his fault of course, but I'm sure a lot of people who didn't watch him in college expect him not to step aside to give teams layups.

No one said he was a good defensive player, im just fighting against the narrative that many people here are trying to throw out that this game....these losses....its all Aytons doing. Out of 10 negative comments about players or a play during the game, 9 will be about Ayton, the other one or so will be about either Jackson or Igor. Its stupid. Holmes lets Fox go right past him to the rim (TWICE IN A ROW) and he just stands there watching. Not a damn thing is said. Ayton does it and you have 5 posters calling him out for it.

Melton and Holmes are the only bright spots

OH look its Ayton

Paypal just withdrew from Suns jersey sponsorship due to gross team mismanagement. Fortunately a new corporate sponsor jumped right in.

Man... can't Elon Musk just buy the team off Sarver with the change in his pocket and then let someone who knows what their doing just run things? He wouldn't even know the money was missing.

Holmes is a backup that no one expected anything from. Of course people are going to criticize Ayton more.

But him playing injured wasn't going to do us any good. It just prolongs and we can't gradually improve...and his #s suffer. TJ missing is about as important.

Booker just being on the court helps. The gravity he commands towards defenses has an underrated effect on the rest of the team. I don't think he should play hurt at all. Just saying his impact on this team is huge. I like Warren and think he's having a great year but we'll see how the team plays when he's back and Booker is still out. I think we'll see Warren's numbers dip a bit when he has the best defenders keying in on him instead.

Also, Igor needs to do something like this...

lol who's the power forward?

By far our best lineup for now is Booker/Bridges/Ariza/Warren/Ayton so I think you just move Warren to PF and start Bridges at the 3.

Don't you hope the T Wolves keep Tyus Jones though?

He's a nice player, but I don't see him ever getting a bigger role in Minnesota. He actually requested a trade last summer because of his role and Thibs tried to talk him out of it by promising him more minutes. Minnesota currently has 4 point guards on their roster.

Melton has earned the next start at pg, okobo has struggled outside of the one game he had 19. but its clear neither are ready to take on a significant role

I don't think people are blaming Ayton on these losses, but are pointing out how bad is he on certain ends of the game because he's a #1 pick and expectations are high, therefore everyone is watching him closely, in comparison to Holmes. The lack of energy that he plays with is frustrating, and his mental blanks are annoying but that's expected from a rookie so he gets a pass for that. It's just frustrating to see how super soft he is but I'm hoping he learns to be more aggressive over time.

It doesn't matter. You still take the better odds when you are this bad. Get used to seeing Booker and TJ on the injury report.

I think Archie Goodwin is still on our G league team. Let's bring him up!

I agree, he has had a nice game. He's not really a PG though, and more of a combo guard. His biggest problem even in G league has been turnovers. And shooting is usually a problem, but if he can make shots, his defense is sorely needed.

Yeah, no excuse that Holmes fouls out and Ayton has no fouls. Not even the ticky tack ones.

Is 4.4 assists ok for our PG? I mean Melton was putting up 17/7/7/1.5 in his 5 games in the G-League.

Im just scared Evans will put us back in the Mike James situation. Scoring with little else, always looking out for himself first...and second.

The best thing about having the worst record is your movement down is more limited. Still probably get a top 3 or 4 pick...at worst 5. If you finish 3rd worst, you could drop to 7 or 8.

Not that I want them to finish with the worst record.
