Sure, we realize that, but it's weird that if you look at "All Players" it has a team name next to all the top players (keepers) except for Desert Fox's.

Was looking into this, and I don´t understand what´s happened. Desertfox missed the keepers deadline, but he wasn't the only one I had to input them manually, so not sure why he´s the only one showing his as FA.

Probably some Yahoo loophole, but let´s stick to "available players" when selecting, please

You wouldn't be able to poach them anyway. It would just turn this into a messy draft when someone picked an unavailable player and the mistake was found out 5 picks later.

He was the main guy on my board. I had a backup plan but not one I really wanted to use.

I didn't trust the Kings to start him over Whiteside and was worried he'd get 20 minutes a game.

I wanted to keep him but I have Trae, Kyrie, Fox, Ingram, and Brown all as guys who drop over 20 ppg. I realised if Kyrie stays remotely healthy that there's a good likelihood I'll win the points category, meaning Trez's points are wasted, and he would only have been contributing FG% and blocks with some rebounds... stats that are available year round. As an end of roster guy and late round source of points he's usable.

Whiteside being signed by the Kings scared me off Richaun but imo Richaun is the better player. I just don't feel confident he will get so many minutes even if he wins the starting job.

I think Holmes will be the main guy. He improved drastically last year and I think Hassan with his minimum 1 year contract is just insurance. He will play, but I don't think he fits into Gentry's offense that well..he's not great at running the floor.

I also like Holmes for dynasty because he's only 27.

I'm not sure. Nurkic usurped Whiteside's minutes because Nurkic>>>Whiteside but even though Holmes is better than Whiteside, I don't think the difference between Holmes and Whiteside is very drastic. That being said, right now we're in the equivalent range of the last two rounds of a 12 team redraft league, so the value/pick is still good.

Perhaps, but my justification was also because it's a dynasty league and Holmes is 27 and will contribute now and likely later..Whiteside is 31, no team wants him since he got a 1 year minimum. I don't think teams like playing him much because he just chases blocks. He does put up good #s for fantasy when he's playing, but I think coaches don't like playing him a lot if they can help it due to his lack of offense, laziness on team defense, etc.

Definitely agree with this logic and that is why I was waffling so much. His age was a plus. The real problem is I did not see how I could keep Holmes on my team next year as it would have been difficult for him to break into my top 7. I felt I needed a quality starter to let Ball develop or I would be driving the tank one more year. I really hope I can move up in the rankings this year just a wee bit. A healthy Zion and Curry will help and hoping for quality minutes from MPJ and Herro.

Yeah, it's hard to stash too many young guys, especially rookies, and your team doesn't have a lot of room to do much, and playing them doesn't help. Last year I took Culver, Reddish and Goga in the draft and none were any good, and I just couldn't justify keeping anyone...I barely kept Reddish over a couple other guys...but even he is on a deep team and will have to emerge as the best between him, Huerter and Hunter to turn into a worthy keeper.

How about for next year, allowing teams to keep one rookie they drafted, that doesn't count towards the keeper limit?
