Wouldn't be surprised if the Lakers fire up the tank this season.

Kobe wont allow that.
1.) Kobe wont go down without a fight.
2.) getting a high lotto pick would pass the torch of popularity from Kobe to the new kid.
3.) IF the Lakers dont hold on to Kobe after this season, the LAST thing Kobe would want to do is reward the franchise with is a kid to take his place.

Kobe will scratch and claw this team to 37+ wins. they wont make the playoffs, but we wont be talking about them as a team that tanked for the rebuild.

And they'll be rewarded with a high pick (a la the Bulls getting Rose at 1.7%) and everyone will call the NBA fixed again

Two big star studded games tonight on ESPN. Everyone is talking about Kentucky and their great class, but I wouldn't be surprised if Mich St. beat them tonight. They are a veteran team with experience and a likely lottery pick (Gary Harris). The only Kentucky guys with college experience lost in the first round of the NIT last year. Julius Randle looked like a stud the other night though.

Then Duke vs Kansas....Parker vs Wiggins.

Florida also plays Wisconsin, and that features two guys that could go late lottery or mid first round in Sam Dekker and Chris Walker. It's on ESPN2.

There is a pretty decent chance 1 or 2 future Suns are playing in these three games tonight.

It's going to be a fun night for sure!

@chadfordinsider: Tons of NBA GMs & scouts here in Chicago. Many teams going 4 to 5 scouts deep here. 16 potential 1st round picks on floor tonight.

Probably won't see this happen again until March.

Randle is A beast so far.
And he is built like Lebron James as a teen ager...

Do they screen for PEDs at college?

Another PF to keep your eye on is Noah Vonleh for Indiana. He is projected mid first round right now.

Long forward
Incredible motor
Will be a warrior in the paint
Excellent rebounder
Solid ball handler with a decent perimeter game

He had a pretty good first game, with 11 pts, 14 boards and 3 blocks.

I'm excited to see Harris vs the Harrison twins.

Harris looking extremely solid. Young is the only guy looking good for Kentucky. These are both guys we could probably/possibly get in the late lottery. Young probably fits our needs more, but I do like Harris too.

Randle is playing absolutely horrible in this Kentucky game. He has been a turnover machine, looks really bad on defense too, constantly out of position. One half of basketball is obviously no way to judge talent, but I sure dont like his demeanor.

Also trying to keep an eye on the Harrison brothers - obviously we will end up with one of them.

Randle is carrying Kentucky right now. Nobody can stop him.

Poythress has 7 offensive rebounds so far! The offensive rebounding power we would have with Poythress at the 3, surrounded by Plumlee and Bledsoe would be awesome.

And... Randle just might've cost Kentucky the game by not boxing out Dawson...

Randle was pretty crazy. Just think, at halftime, he didn't have much for stats, and had like 6 turnovers, and then he ended up with 27pts, 13 boards, and 7 turnovers, so suffice to say, he had a great second half.

Marcus Smart had a pretty crazy stat line in his game, including 9 steals and 4 threes.

Parker is gonna be great in the NBA. His work ethic, attitude combined with his skills is just straight up unfair.

Yeah just wanted to say 'can we please have the second pick and take parker?' Impressed.

Yeah, he does look good. It is funny though, how much the preconceived hype impacts the reactions, narrative, tweets. James Young for Kentucky had kind of a similar first half that Parker did for Duke tonight, but all the talk has revolved around Randle and Parker when they do or don't do things.

James Young might be a nice consolation prize for us if we end up with like the 10th pick.

1st pick would be nice, but that's a lot of pressure. If you have the 2nd pick, you can't be laughed at for picking whoever doesn't get picked first, if that first player ends up being a huge bust.

Parker looks like he should go first, but Wiggins will continue to get hyped up.
