There's a lot of speculation that if Bosh leaves Miami, LeBron will stay and have Melo join him. But I just can't quite follow that reasoning. The Heat would be in the EXACT same position as last year if they did that. They'd have LeBron/Melo/and a broken Wade. They'd just end up losing size with Carmelo there. I mean, LeBron is smarter than to go back to that exact same situation, right?

Also, if Melo and Bron are demanding the max, I feel like Miami can't pay them both. But that's just a guess (I don't know Miami's money situation that well, especially with their new signings).

Bottom line: there's one team capable of signing both Melo and Bron to max deals and contending now and in the future that still has reasonable depth. And they better know what team that is.

Coro says what we've been saying - that if we don't get LeBron, the best option is probably to stick with what we've got and continue to develop our young guys.

One thing that just occurred to me, however, is that we probably don't make the playoffs next year with this squad, minus Channing. Hadn't really considered that before. A lot of teams in the west that were in the lotto last season should improve. Age could catch up to the Mavs and Grizz, opening a window for us. But I suspect we'll really suffer from Frye's loss.

Best case scenario: Wolves finish above us, Lakers aren't so terrible that we don't get their pick, and we have three picks between #5 and #18 as a result. Get ready!!! http://www.nbadraft.net/2015mock_draft

Ryan seems smart enough that just because Frye leaves you overpay for Tucker. I like PJ - but at the right price - which is closer to Warrick, maybe Dudley range at the high end

Every team needs a dirt worker, and we had one that could hit the corner three at a good percentage, and some fans don't want that back?

Ray Ray said that things are about to get bumpy and if LeBron falls through- McD moves on from Plan B

I think the team will be a better than this last year. Ryan will make some moves - improve the roster.

There are trades to be made still . players to sign. GAsol hasn't signed yet; Deng hasn't signed yet, Ariza hasn't signed yet; Monroe, Bledsoe.

Once James and Anthony make their moves, everything falls into place

I actually think we still make the playoffs next year . Remember , Bledsoe was out for 39 games last year and we missed the games by what, 1 game ?

Alex Len should get more minutes this year along with Goodwin , and remember , we added 2 more pieces with Warren and Ennis. We have a good looking team as is. Plus let's see if the Suns pick up anymore pieces either in trades or FA.

But I'm okay if NOBODY else is added this offseason

I love how they have Philly taking ANOTHER center in this mock. I realize he's BPA but it's hard to believe they'd go that route again.

Are we really looking at next year's draft already? I'm going to channel my inner BH: what the f*ck is wrong with you people! Didn't you learn from counting out the Suns last year. Sure teams may have gotten better on paper, but that is paper.

They don't start taking team needs into account until after the lotto.

Lotsa bigs and wings. Few PGs. Good. The game is overloaded at the point position right now, thin at 2 and 5.

We'll still be an 6-8th seed team next year. You can't expect do much on the West coast without length and toughness. I sort of like the Ryan Anderson idea...perhaps even better than Love because he can score and still rebound without all the max player hubbub. I'd rather have a clutch swing player with a solid defensive frontcourt. You can get a way with a softer C or PF but not both.

If those guys don't take a leap next year as you mentioned, and our team comes back mostly intact, it will be VERY tough to get a 6-8 seed unless some other teams above us face serious injuries.

Yup. Especially with the Pelicans making their way around now. They might be scary if they keep Ryan Anderson around to spread the floor for Davis.
I think another surprise trade is going to pop up soon.

I didn't say I didn't want him back - I said I didn't want the Suns to pay the MLE for Tucker. His skills are limited - hustler, good defender, plays hard, can hit the corner three - but for salary cap - he is not worth the MLE. AND, if a team is willing to pay him the MLE - good for PJ.

Like I said, you get him for something between what Warrick and Dudley got which was 4 years between 16 and 20m - that works for me for PJ.

Exactly. I love our team! The only way I love our team more, is if we get Lebron. Lebron or bust...or maybe one of those famous McD lopsided trade in our favor. :D

One thing about a trade though: I think we would need to give up Bled or Dragic to get back Love (or Horford, if it's possible). But I don't think Love would commit to staying without Bled and Dragic on the team. Hence why it may only be a viable option if LeBron signs with us.

I do think trading Dragic might be wise in any case. I think his production will likely decrease next year due to Channing's absence. He's older than the rest of our core. Next contract will be costly. Sell high.

Damn if Bledsoe and errrr tucker resigns and that's it, we literally are worse this year than last.

Granted there are still some decent fa/rfa but the list is getting smaller. And there is still time.

I swear I'm going to explode if I hear Ryan Mcd say the suns are staying the course if they strike out with lebron. Staying the course is for losers. We are going to be hearing " staying the course" for the next 10 years. Every year is going to be, "wait till next year, when there are star FAs." Staying the course doesn't work.

I'm really trying to stay positive but it's getting harder with every passing hour.

I'm sure other teams are saying things like this too.

Dallas fans: We were the 8th seed, but with Tyson Chandler protecting the rim like he did in our championship season, we will definitely improve

Memphis fans: We had the best record in the league with a healthy Marc Gasol, so we should be competing for the top seed this year.

GS fans: With Iguodala not missing a month, we should be able to get into the top 4 in the west

Clippers fans: Paul missed about 3 weeks, and Jordan made huge strides last year. With Hawes being able to stretch the floor, that will help Blake a lot because the paint won't be so crowded. Jordan Farmer should give us a better backup pg too.

Portland fans: We were near the top of the standings early, but lost a little steam near the end with Aldridge injured, but with more time together and McCollum back, coach Stotts should make bigger strides in year two.

OKC fans: With Westbrook healthy all year, we should be able to get that #1 seed back like we had two years ago before his injury in the playoffs

Pelicans fans: With AD's progress, he will likely make a big jump in his second year. Asik will finally give us that rim protection and interior D we need to help out AD, and finally with a healthy Anderson we can stretch the floor. We had so many injuries last year that we should easily make the playoffs this year.

And who's to say Bledsoe will be healthy all year?

Make no mistake about it, the west isn't getting any easier this year, and losing Frye could REALLY hurt Dragic's game.
