He is not the PG I think I would want. Still holding out for Rubio next year. Smart is tough, plays good defense, but his lack of shooting as said, with JJ already would be problematic
Secondarily, it would have to be a sign and trade - something like a three team deal
Boston: Asik and a pick from the Bulls
Bulls: TJ Warren
Suns: Marcus Smart
I don't see this as an option. I have read that the Pelicans are interested in Rodney Hood. Wonder who they think they can sluff off on Cleveland - Solomon Hill? Mirotic has one year left and he seems a great fit with Randle and AD.
Yes this would be a horrible trade ... giving up TJ Warren who has a decent true shooting percentage for a Smart with a career .480 true shooting percentage. Someone please start posting barf pics anytime Marcus Smart is brought up in a Suns trade.
I was just thinking Boston doesn’t need Warren and won’t take Dudley Daniels and pick so may need another team.
I don’t think I want Smart. Hold off a year - maybe band-aid it withthe guys you have. Teodosic maybe
I could see the value in adding a fourth PG if there's an injury, but as of right now, I'm happy with Knight-Shaq-Okobo. Shaq has continued to affirm his value with SL play. Okobo has shown that he can handle the position from a physical standpoint and has shown flashes as well.
If we suffer an injury, I suspect Canaan is the first guy we'd call.
If we're looking to open up a roster spot, I suspect it's for a backup center like Alan Williams or Jack Cooley - either of whom would be much more effective than Tyson.
... I'm also not in favor of trading TJ when none of our other options for starting forwards are nearly so proven (Chriss, Bender, JJ, Bridges). We need to make those guys earn their minutes.
