Further, I believe there is no other league in the world where you are fouled at the 3pt line, but still score at the basket, and it counts :

In addition I just recently learned that you have 3 steps in basketball because of the gather rule :

There is something wrong with all this.

He was killing them inside, driving on a few consecutive plays fully aware nobody can stop him without commiting a foul. He's just taking full advantage of the no D rules in RS. I would honestly just let him shoot 20 3s and try to take away his driving game, which also means his teammates are more involved.
Westbrook was terrible in the first half, yet somehow finished with 27pts. Stat padding at it's best.
His inconsistent shooting and shot selection from range seems to be his only weakness. Once he gets inside he's like a kid in a candy store with the options he has because of his finishing and passing ability.
I would certainly try and coax him into shooting more from range as a strategy but I think he's smart enough to realise that and will change things up
It will require team effort, but I'm amused that in the best league in the world a player can drive to the hoop whenever he likes and no one can stop him. And he's not that fast like say Lebron, so you don't have the time to react. Just comparing the leagues EL looks much more tactical and physical, so what he's doing is not possible over there to this extend. Anyway, Mavs will probably make the playoffs, so we'll see if any team will come with a good strategy to defend him.
In the EuroLeague you just can put a big player in the middle of the paint, it's easier to defend. There are not 3 seconds on defense.
In the NBA you need to be always close to a rival player (an arm of distance at most) so you have to help and recover pretty quickly. You have to think and stay alert constantly.
And the size of the court is bigger in the NBA, so that gives a bit more space to the offensive player and makes it more difficult for defenders to help and clog the lane.

That's true and I guess main reasons Doncic said it's easier in NBA. Still the players are more athletic, so you would think they will be able to react and clog the lane after all. It's more about fundamentals probably, like not buying into every fake move and staying in front of him.

I always figured Doncic would be a bit better in the NBA with more spacing to operate in, with people spreading the floor, allowing more easy drives, and fewer people all over him at the 3 pt line.

Very little chance of that imo, both are extremely competitive and want to win at all costs and can play off ball.
Not having to do everything and having someone else create for once would be welcomed by both and would help them stay fresh throughout the season.

Nice to hear RJ be positive about Ayton's development. People do always say 7ft'ers take longer to develop and we are quick to forget that here because of how advanced Ayton is in some respects. getting to Luka level will be tough/probably impossible but Ayton has room to grow for sure, and maybe more room thank Luka right now.

Booker plays well with Rubio. I can't see Luka really hating Booker..he seems pretty good natured. Booker does too. I think he would hate not being the best player on the team though, but I think they could theoretically play really well together. If Booker really hogged the ball and didn't pass to Luka I could see Luka being a little irritated I guess. I don't see Luka not passing as many assists as he already averages.
Booker would probably enjoy the immense improvement in his %s...I mean look what Rubio was doing for him...Luka would do a lot more. They could be a very tough 1-2 punch offensively.

Yeah, he definitely probably has more room to grow than Luka right now, considering where Luka is out. He's probably top 3 or 4 in MVP voting if it were to occur today.

Looking pretty good on both so far, especially the Hawks. To a lesser extent, would be nice to see the Bulls beat the Blazers and the Bucks beat the Jazz. Probably the Lakers to beat the Spurs as well.

To me Sacramento is a bigger threat than Minny, Spurs or Blazers.
But every loss is welcome ofc.

Man, Jarrett Allen is a beast. 22 points on 9/10 shooting and 21 rebounds...and still a few minutes left in the 4th.

Minnesota really outscored Atlanta in the 3rd (by 13) and took the lead.

Embiid just had zero points in a loss in case anyone was still upset about Booker’s poor outing yesterday

That's nuts. He had 3 opportunities to get on the score board at the line and couldn't even hit 1 of 3 lol
