I would prefer Reggie Jackson, but not sure about how much he will get. He probably is out of our range.

If we are sinking so low to grab a guy like Napier, might as well just grab IT instead. If you need scoring, he can score, you need facilitating, he can do that too. He sucks on defense, but so does Napier, so might as well grab the guy who can produce better elsewhere, which is IT.

Napier is my guess. Moore or Forbes are good options. Plenty of backup bigs available...Noel, WCS, Damian Jones, etc.

Frank Lee wrote:Whose the best Big left? After Ayton, we don’t have anyone over 6’9” save a rook. Nerlens ? OQuinn ? I’m thinking Baynes is looking for a longer term.. when soon, guys will take a 1 + 1 and like it. We need some size, IMO

Best bigs left start with Whiteside. Im guessing he will cost way too much, want a starting role, and will probably end up in Sactown. CBS's list of the top 100 FA's shows these C's still without deals:

Ibaka
Gasol
Baynes
Saric
Giles
Whiteside
Noel
WCS
Len
Cousins
Boucher
Diallo
Vonleh
Tolliver
Biyombo

Paul, Payne, (Okobo)
Booker, Carter
Bridges, Nader,
Johnson, Crowder
Ayton, Saric, Smith

With Saric playing some PF, Cam some SF, and Carter some PG. Just need a SG/SF cover and perhaps a veteran upgrade replacing Okobo (Teague?).

Also regarding the BAE, it's an exception, so you only get to use it if you're over the cap. So in saying we might keep it for next year only works if we operate as an over the cap team next year too (which is likely but no guarantee).

Smith is a 4 who can play spot minutes at the 5 depending on match up. Crowder is a 3/4.

Soooo....lets NOW revisit the trade. Which combo is better? Rubio/Oubre or CP3/Crowder ???? And for those of you sticking with Rubio/Oubre, honestly, does it look as bad now?

IT comes with baggage though. Napier would know his role and IT may get frustrated not playing as much as he feels he should. I don't want Napier either though. Is Forbes still available or did he sign somewhere?

Wouldn't it be more like Rubio/Oubre/FA vs CP3/Crowder?

We still would have had room without the trade to sign someone with our cap space after retaining Dario I think.

I'll take any of those 3 guards or Jordan McLaughlin, who was solid this past year. Sign a big with the minimum if they think it's necessary, but Saric worked well as a 5 backing up Ayton, so I don't see it as necessary with Jalen Smith their as 3rd string C.

Rich Paul should pay Noel $1M per year for the rest of his life after turning down that Dallas offer

Depends on who our guard is after the Paul contract and if he stays healthy...I imagine with as well as Rubio was playing, we could have re-signed him if need be. Technically we might still be able to, but I don't know if we will have the cap space. We also would have had more cap space to sign someone else now since we didn't keep Baynes anyway, like Crowder...and also could have traded Oubre for someone or used the cap space next summer.

If Paul is healthy, we will be better the next two years at least, though....or should be.
