A little more than I thought a month ago but this market was hotter than anyone expected.
I like the deal and he's a great culture guy who has a place in the nba with his shooting and D.

Lowry for Vujevic (still young enough to match their core?)

Van Vleet
Powell
OG
Siakam
Vujevic

Magic have Bamba and Birch at the C, and get a year of Lowry to develop Fultz into a starter and Cole into a capable backup.

The one thing they forgot to mention, both new additions are significantly better defensively.

Something the Suns have negated prior to the last 2 seasons.

Suns need offense and defense, that has been clear from past failures.

If Ibaka goes to Brooklyn, I feel like the Clips or Raptors, whoever doesn't sign Gasol, will sign Baynes.

If it plays out that way, And we do a sign n' trade with Baynes to one of those teams, is there a team preference or package return that you'd hope or push for ? With respect to our current remaining roster needs?

I'm guessing all our 3 year deals have team option third years- we are creating a 2 year window and then having everything come off the books in 2022.

With only Booker, Johnson and Smith on the books, plus holds on Ayton and Bridges, and no first round rookie contract hold, we can find tune our roster with some pretty decent cap space before reupping Ayton and Bridges.

Suns twitter is out of control right now. Everything that has happened since trading for Paul is perfect from every tweet I have read. And Suns are championship caliber team. This is getting a little out of control. There is always a player very team regrets signing. Happens every year to every team. I get it, it’s all new and exciting but from experience, people need to take a bit of caution right now.

Get excited for sure! But wait for the results.
I am such a lucky NBA fan. 8647 My favorite team went from the most greedy and racist owner to the most ego driven dumbass owner in all of sports fdt.

I was thinking more of Indiana for the package they were offering for Kemba (Turner & McDermott). Turner fits the timeline a little better at only 24yrs old.

Lowry/Brogdan/Warren/?????/Sabonis (Use Oladipo to get a PF in trade; Send him back to Orlando for Gordon)

VanVleet/Powell/OG/Siakam/Turner

Why would they sign and trade?

This whole S&T thing doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me anyway since we renounced him. I didn't think you could sign someone and go over the cap if you renounced them. I thought you had to leave their cap hold on the books to do that.

Then others talking about signing him outright.

I don't know, maybe we didn't renounce him or I'm missing something.

Sweet Lou = professional scorer . They didn’t get Rondo , they traded Shamet so probably not an option

My guess - maybe Moore and that’s it plus Saric

Week is right thought - inthe nba, a player like Paul can be a difference maker

What would you prefer Carter 3/11.5 or Melton 4/28?

I loved melton and HATED that trade but looking at it through that lense makes me pause.

I knew I was going to like Carter when I saw this last summer

C'mon, they are not going to trade Lowry. They are a second round playoff team. Besides, Lowry is a $31 million expiring (they just gave him a 1 year extension last year) and their plan is to go after Giannis next summer. They are not gonna scrap that for Turner and McBuckets or Vucevic.

Suns never renounced Baynes bird rights.

Oh ok. I guess that makes sense..they didn't need to since they were operating over the cap anyway.

I think the only circumstance a team would S&T something for Baynes is if they've already used their MLE. Or if they were under the cap and spent all their money and he wanted more than the Room Exception (or they already spent that too). Or if a team was in the tax and he wanted more than the tax payer exception.

Otherwise I don't know why someone would S&T someone for him unless they simply didn't want his contract any more..and in that case, it doesn't seem like we would likely want it either. Unless they have like 4-5 point guards.
