So they are lawless?! When black people fight, they are lawless, when white people fight or blow crap up, they are just going through stages :-?

White people love labeling black people behavior so they can treat them with disrespect and re-enforce their racists views!! Tired of this crap.

What? I didn't call anyone a thug. But... the definition of ruffian is a violent OR lawless person. With what the Morris bros did, it appeared to be violent. Which means... it kinda fits the definition of a ruffian.

White, Black, Asian, Latino ... it doesn't matter. This type of behavior is just plain wrong. Doesn't matter if it is a suit and tie bilking people out of retirement savings or someone breaking into your house. Nor does it matter if its a person who beats their wife/girlfriend or attacks another person at recreation basketball game. These actions are outside the acceptable norm and we should be beyond this type of nonsense as human beings. Everyone on this board should be able to recognize right and wrong. The Morris brother should be able as well. They should take it upon themselves to be even held at higher standards since they are role models for young children. Unfortunately we are too lax and allow criminal behavior to slide which encourages even more. So yes they are thugs and criminals.

Again 3 for 3 on this board, although I think one was in jest! Make the word fit even though the guy isn't a hoodlum, vicious criminal, or lawless person.

The guy is a professional basketball player with a hot temper, not a thug. But go ahead and continue to demean the black man......our country has a history of it!!

No, No! You misread what I said. A man (of any color) is a thug when he beats the crap out of another person and puts them in the hospital. Just to be crystal clear ... here are my examples of thugs ... click on the assault option ... you'll see lots of white thugs ... http://www.mcso.org/Mugshot/#

Can we still call white athletes, thugs? :D

Try that drunk loud mouth WR for the Eagles who was looking to fight any N word he could find. Or Ben Rothlisberger... People continue to call him a thug.

If it was an in game thing, I'd call him a goon, which is more of a hockey term, but still fits the bill. Outside the game, if they did or one of them beat someone to the hospital, I'd just call them morons, not thugs. I really don't care what color they are. I don't reserve the word thug for people of color. Goon, thug, it's all the same to me. But a professional athlete getting into a fight is just stupid. You are a professional for cripes sakes, start acting like one.

Darn it, I fell into it again, sorry.

I don't have any good trades. The one I came up with, everyone knocked it down, saying that it was impossible.

This situation we are in could hinder many trade ideas, for if we sit MOs, we will be very thin from the bench, and will have to rely on both IT and Green to bail us out from time to time. If we trade one of those....ouch, we better be getting a solid contributor.

I use the term thug if a player is acting like a thug. There's no racial intent behind it at all and to suggest so is ridiculous. Richie Incognito is a thug. Logan Mankins is a thug. Cortland Finnegan is a thug. Ndamukong Suh is a thug. Jared Allen is a thug. Albert Haynesworth was a thug. Milan Lucic is a thug. Zdeno Chara is a thug. Brad Marchand is a thug. Dan Carcillo is a thug. Matt Barnes is a thug. Patrick Kaleta is a thug. John Scott is a thug. Chris Pronger was a thug. Blake Griffin is a thug. Kobe Bryant is a thug. Bruce Bowen was a thug. Bill Laimbeer was a thug. Zinedine Zidane is a thug. Asamoah Gyan is a thug. Luis Suarez is a thug. AJ Pierzynski is a thug. Vladimir Putin is a thug. Bill De Blasio is a thug. Richard Trumka is a thug. People in the Italian mafia are thugs. People in the Irish mafia are thugs. And many, many, many more. Don't wanna be called a thug? Don't act like it, then.

I find it annoying and infuriating that some people have taken a word that literally can apply to anyone who acts like it and have pigeon-holed it into thinking that the use of the word automatically implies racial meaning.

Sickening. Utterly sickening that some people think that way.

.....go on with your trade thread.

SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

man BH... pretty good 'Thug List' there. Forgot about a few of those bad eggs.

I think McDo and Co would love to make a big splashy move, but the waters are too calm. Of the few players that have been offered up, BLowpez probably tops the list... I'd like him here, but unless NJ takes IT, it is not happening. There are others out there could be had, but again, when we start the offers with ISO-man IT and his sidekick Chucker Green, the available list dwindles.

You want a significant move, say so long to Dragic. Unclear on the MoBro value now.

Here is my short list.... but uncertain on how to obtain
Furkan Aldemir / Goodwin+ 2nd or maybe 1st
Mbah a Moute / Green+2nd
Ersan Illysova / IT + 1st

McDo likely will be in on a three teamer, sliding in to accommodate a bigger move elsewhere, while gleaning some young talent.

Just don't see the big trade coming our way. Hardly see a small one. I still expect NJ to buy out KG and then who knows...? Might be the best thing we can do/get

It would have to be something like this from the ESPN trade machine. And granted for the Suns this is bascally cash dump of the Morris Twin and Thomas for next yea. Saving them $18m from next years cap.

Nets: why do you do this? WEll, it allows you to start to revamp roster with young players. Garnett is expiring but they are so far over the cap - they can't do anything. Maybe even throw in a first rond pick as the Nets don't have many. I think they would do this more than the Suns

Suns: salary cap dump and you hope Plumlee can play PF.

Don't hate it - but would free up cap space for this summer that's for sure

I have warmed up to the Lopez idea these past few weeks. He has played great since coming back from injury and has really showed that he can play the PF spot. He has Amare like range, can Amare like rebound, but also give you a couple blocks per game. But first and foremost our medical team would have to give him a very thorough examination. If he passes, go for it. It would be real nice to cock-block OKC's attempts to get him, as i think if he was their starting C we would be screwed. Westbrook/Waiters/Durant/Ibaka/Lopez would be DEADLY for our playoff dreams.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=op9ahcl

Suns get Lopez/ATL 1st
Hornets get MoBros
Nets get Thomas/Stephenson/Plumlee

As for the others you listed, I had to Google Furkan Aldemir just to find out who he was. I'd pass.

Mbah a Moute is staying in Philly. He is mentoring his fellow Cameroon native Joel Embiid.

And i'd pass on James Franco as well. He has been a major disappointment. He had 1 or 2 decent years, but thats about it.

If we were looking for another big in addition to Lopez, i'd trade Greens expiring to Denver (Since they are in fire-sale mode) for Hickson.

Bledsoe/Ennis
Dragic/Goodwin/Dragic
Tucker/Bullock/Warren
Lopez/Hickson
Len/Wright

Wouldn't surprise me if Mook is sent packing for a 2nd or an expiring with a better attitude.

I appreciate they work better together, but this isn't Happy Days and they are not the Fonz.

Sooner or later they need to mature and realise they have to carve out a name for themselves in this league and they can't expect the other to be there next to them every game.

Loads of teams could use a solid 3/4 off the bench to stretch the D.

These are all small trades (a few of the names have been mentioned already obviously) and they all work in the Trade Machine:

Mook straight up for Jerebko
Solid, team-first guy who's also a handy $4.5m expiring. DET gets a young 3 who may even start there ahead of Singler.

Mook and Plumlee for Hawes
LAC probably takes this to get out of Hawes' deal, but he isn't that bad and would be a nice compliment to Wright in that second unit with his passing/outside shot. Also kinda cheap when you think about it.

Mook and a 2nd for Jason Smith and Cleanthony Early
Smith is an expiring and has a nice 15-18 foot shot, also underrated shot-blocker. Early I doubt they move, Jax's first pick I guess.

Mook and Plumlee and a 2nd for KJ McDaniels and Henry Sims (exp)
I love KJM, would be perfect at the 3 for us down the line. Signed a 1yr deal so unsure if 76ers will want to pay him or rather trade him. Sims is a handy 4th big, expiring too.

Mook and Plumlee for James Johnson, Lucas Nogueira and Greg Stiemsma (exp, waive him)
TOR could definitely use him at the 3, we could definitely use Johnson's toughness and D as backup at the 4. Nog is a solid long term prospect and Stiemsma would either be waived or be the new Shav...

Mook and Green for Ryan Anderson
I like this one. Limits our heat-check chucker off the bench to just Thomas, and Anderson would be ideal either starting at the 4 or being first big off the bench. Pelicans do it to improve their depth and athleticism.

Mook and Plumlee for Kanter
This one...Not sure on. I think UTA would do it, as Kanter is a restricted FA and UTA won't want to pay him the money he'll likely want as Gobert fits better next to Favors somehow. Basically he'd be a rental to the end of the season I suspect.

Anyway. There's my lunchbreak gone haha

Not sure those teams would go for those trades, but I would, overall, I think. Not sure what will come out of all of this with Mook's situation, but it doesn't look good. So until this is resolved (which honestly, I don't know a whole lot about), doubt any team trades for him.

And @JMac, how can you be so upset over the "Thug" thing, yet basically call Roethlisberger one, when he was never convicted with a crime. And as was seen with the Ray Rice incident, the law will go after those who actually commit a crime. So getting upset about the "Thug" reference being used as some "race" motivated remark (which I didn't see the correlation that you did, tbh), then using it to describe a guy that was never convicted; regardless of what you want to believe about his situation, without firm proof that he actually did what he was accused of, I just think that's a bit hypocritical to me, don't you think? :-?

J Mac, as another black man I can see your frustration, but I think you are looking at it the wrong way. You are kind of doing reverse racism... you are associating the word THUG with only black people and you shouldnt. I have no doubt that there are peole who post on here that do have preconceived notions about other races (NO DOUBT... SOME), but calling people who act like thugs, a thug is not always an attack on color. This kind of behavior should be beneath them and it clearly was not. MEN TALK AND FOOLS FIGHT.... if all the reported rumors are true and this is what happened, then chasing a guy down outside and beating his A$$... is thuggish behavior and just stupid.

Guys we've already had enough of the racism debate on this board, do we have to re-hash it EVERY time?

Going to bring the red pen out the next time we have to re-do this stupid 'debate' again, it's ridiculous.
