Both with 2 assists. The latter probably should have played more in this game.

Well Brown had 30 minutes less to suck up the minuses so yeah. But i agree Brown>Weems imo.

He's a truly unique player that will be an all star by 2020. I had hoped for a 14 point game out of him against one of best defense in the league and yet he goes off for 24 points. God I love this guy he's so young too.

It's because he was drafted so high. Fans have higher expectations of him. I agree with you, he's making good progress, but he's still a long ways away from being a good NBA player and the progress is slow.

That soon? I thought maybe Marion or Amare.

It's time for the Booker/Warren/Len show in PHX.

And then Simmons after? :D

Simmons, Dragan, Skal. All those guys fit well with the team moving forward and have pretty high ceilings.

You want to know why we are so down on Len? Really? Lets just put it this way, my nickname for him is Period. Why? Because he only shows up once a month. We saw that Len tonight, and wont see a game like this from him for another 25-30 days. PERIOD!

Game 44: The Booker Watch

The only thing good going for the Suns is Devin Booker. TJ Warren, unfortunately doesn't play enough.

Where this organization would be without this 19 year old rookie would be scary, a very dark place. Devin Booker should be starting for the next 20 years for us.

Either Knight as 6th man or trade once Bledsoe is back.

You're probably right. That draft was just SOOO bad though. It's not apples to apples. Booker or Warren, even though underrated in their drafts, might be the #1 overall picks in Len's draft. It's just not fair to hold Len to somehow be better than Booker or Warren simply due to the pick number. Warren and Booker would go much higher in their own drafts if they were re-drafted today.

Besides, there are top 5 picks EVERY YEAR that are worse than Len imo. We'll see. But I expect he ends up a 12-14 point, 8-10 rebound guy as a starter, with good rim protection. That would put him as above average as a 5th pick historically. Maybe I'm too optimistic though. Picks are simply not as valuable as many on this board think. They're never sure things, although they are very important.

Yeah. It's a good problem to have actually now that Booker is playing so well. I agree though, but the price has to be right for Knight. We can't just give him away. I'd like to find a way to move Knight in some sort of deal to land Dunn if possible. That would greatly depend on if he falls in the draft and the team that has the pick.

You must not like watching young bigs in the NBA. He plays plenty well when he sees minutes. His problem is a coach's insistence on playing a worse guy than him huge minutes, along with his own foul issues. Both are not uncommon problems for a 22 year old big man.

Hell, you probably would've hated Jimmy Butler too. Where is this expectation that 22 year olds should be consistent performers coming from? It just isn't usual in the NBA. Some guys are able to do that, but it's not common at all.

I like him and all, but let's not pretend like he scored 24 against Kawhi. Kawhi only guarded him for a part of that game.

I'm still encouraged by Goodwin. He's ONLY 21. And when he gets minutes, he can be relied upon to score. It ain't pretty, but going to the line 10 times is encouraging.

Booker will be a STUD. Warren will be a star.

Defense is still a major concern. Right now i have absolutely no faith in our back court defensive capabilities. Not sure if it's he coach or personnel...but i have seen a pitiful number of games where the opposition's backcourt scored 40% of the points and shouldnt have scored more than 20%.

Definitely a good game to show off the youth on this roster. I feel like this is the type of tank that fans are hoping for; blowout losses, but the young guys get the bulk of the playing time.

Devin Booker: More proof that this kid is the possible steal of this draft, Devin played smart and composed despite shouldering the bulk of the scoring load for the Suns. Played patiently and took what the D gave him, shooting 50% from the field and still managing to get to the line. He's definitely not polished enough to actually be a #1 scoring option quite yet, but with more experience I think he has a legit shot of being that eventually. Oh, and his defense was pretty bad, but leeeeeets just ignore that for now . Overall a really good game from the Holy Book, despite being a biiit subpar from three.

Alex Len Had a decent game, scoring in a multitude of different ways, but I feel like he was simply on the court a lot of the time, setting screens but not aggressively calling for the ball as he should. It also stings to see him outplayed by Marjanovic besides for that SICK dunk. Also, Len had 4 Asts tonight. Not bad.

TJ Warren Another really high efficiency game for Tony Buckets. 8/13 from the field including 2/2 from three spells a good scoring night, even though he didn't get to the line. I'm really liking his 1 dribble pull-up/floater, seems to always go in. As per usual in a negative sense though, is his lack of rebounding, only tallying 1. That's not really in his game, but you would still like to see a bit more. Got into a bit of foul trouble, which limited his game a bit, but he still played 30 more minutes than last time.

Archie Goodwin So, Archie got to line, like always, but he actually hit his free throws this time!!! I still hate how the fouls he draws feel like the defense is bailing him out whenever he drives to the rim, because his finishing and passing in those situations are really lacking. What's the point of driving to rim if you can't do anything when you get there?! Still, he shot pretty well from three considering 2 of those shots were end of shot clock/quarter heaves. Not to mention His 20 points were mostly empty, but a 20 point game is still a 20 point game. He deserves credit

I wish we could see more games like this when considering the tanking effort. It's nice to see the young guys playing hard and with purpose juxtaposed to the paltry efforts from everyone else. And it can really serve the development of the young guns nicely, specifically with the growing role of Devin Booker.
Living off borrowed time the clock ticks faster...

LMAO I was actually just thinking of this while I hit the gym. I was gonna post something along the lines of... who was the last rookie to put up 56 points in a two game span.
Right now Booker is playing very elite basketball for his age.
Len also had a good game and I liked the two dunks he had on that elephant ear player.
