Qwigglez wrote:Oh and this Teague trade rumor. Teague will be expiring after the following season. He'll be 29 next offseason, why would he stay with the Sixers? Unless they offer him the max and there are no other teams coming close to that then I don't see it. The trade doesn't make sense on Philly's side I completely get it for the Hawks though.
Knight fits with the Sixers core, and will still have 4 more years left on his contract. I think Knight + 4 for Okafor is a win-win for both sides.

Personally i think if the debate is Knight/Okafor or Noel vs Teague/Okafor or Noel then the #4 is WAY to much to make up the difference. Yes, when comparing Teague to Knight, Teague may have a edge, but not THAT big of an edge.

Purely in the constraints of a Teague for Noel/Okafor trade, replacing Knight/#4 SHOULD net something along the lines of either Noel/Okafor AND either Saric/Covington.....Use Tucker or our #28 to offset value if needed.

Or for that matter.....Knight/#13 for Okafor/Late First. But in all likelyhood, the end game for the Sixers is the #4. If the Suns went out and traded Knight/#4 for Teague we'd all be crapping bricks for weeks. So why should those two net the same value as Teague in a trade for the same player?

^I hear ya.
Honestly, maybe the Sixers consider 13th pick, Miami 2018 1st, and Bledsoe for Okafor. We retain our #4 pick, draft Dunn/Murray, trade Knight and #28 to the Kings for #8 and draft Jaylen Brown.
We would then have our core consisting of 3 teenagers and a 21 year old.

I'd rather Myles Turner over Jahlil Okafor.

I think Turner is untouchable but I'd agree.

Okafor had a few games where he had 3+ blocks.

Without Noel, I think Okafor can become a 2 bpg type of center....

He is under rated here because he cant shoot 3s.... I want my center scoring inside and dominating... attracting defenses to open up shooters...

"Ryan McDonough (Suns GM) took the fall for the Isaiah Thomas trade, but he never wanted to trade him. Hornacek kept pushing Ryan to trade him."

Kinda inclined to agree with it because that was the most lolwtf value trade in McD's tenure. It made no sense.

I'm glad we traded Mook. My least favorite Suns player to watch that I can remember. Suns fans wanted IT traded and were ok with the trade. Lots of crow feathers in the mouths of posters here. I loved IT and wanted him here. Two extraordinarily different trades.

Still no desire to add Okafor. He'll only take shots away from TJ, who, imo, will be a more efficient scorer throughout their careers. We need defense around Booker and TJ. You can talk about Jahlil's blocks, but I think it's pretty easy to see that he will never be as good a defender as Alex. Stats change from year to year - advanced stats as much as any other. But if you watch the games, you can see the difference.

Jokic has all this hype - but you know, the only significant advantage he has over Alex is the outside shooting. If Alex ever got steady with that J, he'd be considered the superior player. He might not, but right now, Suns fans are demonstrating a routine tendency to undervalue their own players - as they did when IT was here. That's what disappointment will do, I guess. Trading for Okafor would not be a good move.

Players I'd be ok drafting - J. Murray, D. Murray, Chriss, Sabonis, B. Johnson, Ellenson, Diallo, Onuaku, Valentine, D. Bembry, Qi, Ulis, LeVert, Felder, Cornelie, M. Richardson.

I didn't have a problem with them doing the IT trade at the time. I just wished after they dealt Goran and IT they should have just stopped there not did the knight deal and just went super young right then. It was the perfect moment for them to go back to the original plan before they overachieved that first year.

Who knows maybe knight is healthy and plays better this year and the Lakers are a little better and that pick next year ends up being a mediocre asset. The suns still might "win" this trade but simply in principle it was a foolish deal at the time.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

He also said that McD wanted to keep Marcus, but Horny wanted him gone regardless of whether LMA signed or not. If they had waited to pull the trigger on the Marcus trade until after LMA made his decision, the whole year would have been markedly different. McD then went on to take the heat from the Morri while Jeff looked like the good guy.

I doubt McD makes that mistake again. He is going to stick to his own instincts.

I doubt McD wanted to keep Mook because he loved him as a player. He just knew the "twin dynamics" and wanted to go a different route. Horny wanted him gone immediately. This all gives me a little more confidence in McD. I was a Horny fan, but it looks like I was wrong.

This sounds like the Minnesota "10 years of hell model" started after our own 6 years of hell model. No thank you.

Firstly, Okafor will not draw the trade value of a solid All-Star when he gets traded. The Steven Kyler tweet said yesterday it will take more than Okafor to get the #3, so even if you account for posturing, the deal for Oak will likely be straight for a pick, without other major positive players. It certainly won't include A near all-star player, and two lotto picks. I think it may be time to pump the brakes on Okafor.

CHI rumored leak on YardBarker shows PHI looking for a top 6 pick. If we want Okafor badly, which I am not fully positive they do, I think it will be for a straight pick.

I agree withe that, but put Knight in this trade open minutes for booker, and possible bring a new pick (24 plus 28?), and in this area probaly have very good prospects. Okafor for me is number one choice, without a doubt.

Trading for Okafor and having him work with Tyson to become an adequate defender is our best shot at acquiring a "star". He's already a 18-7 guy at twenty years old and could likely be under team control for 8-9 years along with Devin Booker. If Eric and TJ stay healthy we could have something good for the first time in a long time.

Who needs a dinosaur like Jah when we have Alex The GOAT Len? He is a two- way player AND stretches the floor, also no character concerns he rescued his friend from drowning. He will put Jokic to shame and make a claim for being the best center from his class. You just watch

at this point I don't care about the Noel vs Jah arguments, I just want McD to nab one of them. I'd be happy with either as long as we don't get swindled on the deal.

It seems like some Suns fans want to get dump Knight. Put aside the Okafor, Noel, and Saric talk, is there a deal to be had for just Knight?

We've got late 1sts and some interesting bench pieces to discuss.

Those are kind of the main attractions, you know? Once you move those guys off the table, interest declines quickly.
