With so few games, stuff can change quickly on one night. I lost 9 points one day and 5.5 the next in the last two days. It will be interesting to see how much the teams with major injuries can make up when guys get back.
Thats how i am usually too. In years past i have played every player every chance i got, thus allowing me to take a commanding lead straight out the gate. I felt it also helped me in a way that some people would be demoralized and kinda give up on their teams about halfway into the season. This year im stratagizing a little more and looking at each individual game and seeing if i think that certain players will or will not preform well on that night. It also makes it nicer when i see 2 of the guys ahead of me have played more games than i, and also the 2 guys behind me. Lets me know that my team is working correctly.
Yeah, I did that last year but it started to bite me at times (like I benched Jonas V before an 18 rebound performance). This year because I have injuries and because I am not sure who will break out and don't have a good feel for a lot of the guy's roles on their teams, I've been playing them, but it some cases, it has really hurt me.
But I did it like you last year and was hovering around 6th to 8th most of the year but then some teams ran out of games, and I rose to 3rd at the very end as my guys continued to help me move up.
I also think I made a mistake in getting too worried about assists. I was so far behind in assists (but was 1st in FG and FT%) that I dumped some bigs (Olynyk being one) for guards that get like 4 assists, and they killed my fg%, and I really didn't pick up ground in assists that much.
Also, Jameer Nelson sucks. I thought a vet like that would fit right in on the Mavs and get the ball to the right guys for assists and have wide open threes with D's focusing Dirk and Monta. Instead he is shooting about 30% and averaging about 3 apg. He averaged 6 assists and 2 3s last year while the Magic were playing rookies and young guys and he was sitting a lot, so I don't know why he is playing so bad, but Devin Harris is definitely outplaying him.
