With two minutes left I can't help but watch Damian Lillard. Every freaking time he is nails.

Anyone seen Hawks this year?
They are very well coached... probably up there as one of the better systems/coaching direction in the league.

He's the one I wanted when we fired Hunter.

I look at the Hawks roster and wonder how is this team 26-8 without Smith and J. Johnson. I guess they were holding them back and now with a new team and a good coach the hawks are the real deal.

Watching the Hawks play is a treat. Their all about ball movement and unselfish basketball.

Exact opposite of the Suns.

Yes indeed. Bright FO too. Millsap is a guy I've wanted on the Suns for a very long time.

Probably because Budenholzer worked under Pops for years. I predicted they would be high, as they were decent last year without their best player and Teague has been improving. Millsap is solid (and Budenholzer had him work on his 3 to help stretch the floor last year) and Korver the best shooter in the league, or if not the best, right up there with Curry.

Man, I didn't see the end of that Pistons/Spurs game, but reading the play by play, I wish I would have. I would have gone nuts. http://espn.go.com/nba/playbyplay?gameI ... 3&period=4 If we beat Minnesota, we will be tied going to play SA next.

For those who have forgotten, Budenholzer was very close to getting the Suns job after D'Antoni quit. He was interviewed twice before Kerr and David Griffin unfortunately chose Porter over him and Gentry, who didn't even get an interview.

The guys who were interviewed were Vinny Del Negro, Mark Jackson, Brian Shaw, Hornacek, Elston Turner, Porter, Budenholzer, and Tyrone Corbin.

The finalists were Turner/Corbin/Budenholzer/Porter.

They settled on the wrong guy, as we all remember.

Not to knock Bud but I don't know that he would have had a different fate than Porter.
The personnel was all about run and gun.

Last year's draft wasn't as shallow as people thought. Several big guys are already making an impact on their team. Len, Noel, Adams, Plumlee, Gobert, Dieng, Olynyk.

What a crazy year. The Pistons are easily one of the worst teams in the league, and then they trade Josh Smith and win 7 straight, knocking off good teams like the Spurs. Then they run into Atlanta, and the Hawks are dominating them (of course, even though the Pistons are down almost 20 at halftime, the craziness of how they are playing, maybe they come back but the Hawks are playing so crazy good too, that they likely don't allow that to happen).

I actually thought the Hawks would be really good this year, and predicted them to finish 3rd in the east before the season, and not far from first. But the way they are playing now still surprises me, because they are crushing tough western conference teams too.

^ interesting Bw that during the win streak, I read that Drummond and Monroe have only played 16 minutes together (could have been here on realgm). Trading Josh Smith allows both big guys to have the space and the opportunity they need to maximize their impact - now, they each have sufficient courttime to be effective surrounded by the right complementary pieces.

Does anyone else think this situation is similar to us with Goran/ Bledsoe and now IT?

Sure I do! Let' it known a cpl times, caught hell for it from some guys.
Alhtough IT is no Josh Smith in any way shape or form, and Goran is too much of a nice guy to pout about it publicly, I do believe that this could factor into his decision of resigning here this summer, á la Monroe/Pistons.

*edit

I also wanted to mention (around the NBA) that no one in their right mind will want to face Memphis. Jeff Green is a clear upgrade at the wing which they sorely needed for 3 yrs now. If (big if) he can play at a good level consistantly enough they are as scary as Houston/GS or any other "sexy" team. His numbers might suffer a bit, but he could negate some of that by having cleaner/better looks as he will only be supplementary on their offense, not the main guy - which he is not, and will never be.

West just got thougher - thanks Ainge!
