Brooklyn plays Minnesota next, so unfortunately at least one of them lose. Fortunately, one of them wins.

I hope Brooklyn wins. More breathing room for us. And the pick watch thread over at the Celts board gets really classy when BKN wins

When I'm feeling down I realize how Nets fans have it much worse because they have almost nothing to look forward except to win out of spite for being taken to the cleaners

Brooklyn swept us right? So technically it's a 3-game lead given the tiebreaker. They have to finish a game worse.

Re: Tank Fest Update Around the League
I'd rather Len and Booker continue showing All-Star potential (and it winning us games) and drop a spot.
I can't believe there was really only 1 person in the whole organisation who saw the obvious thing and that was to develop whoever could be transformational talent for the next 5-10 years.
Hopefully Brooklyn keep ahead and we get the best of Len and Booker and add Simmons and a lottery pick (with Warren back too)! That would be unbelievable, given it's been basically a complete accident to get to this point.

Are you sure h2h determines draft lottery order? Because it might be a coin flip, but perhaps that is only if they split.

They just split the number combinations between them. Here is the rule.
In the event that teams finish with the same record, each tied team receives the average of the total number of combinations for the positions that they occupy. In 2007, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Portland Trail Blazers tied for the sixth worst record. The average of the 6th and 7th positions in the lottery was taken, resulting in each team getting 53 combinations (the average of 63 and 43). Should the average number not be an integer, a coin flip is then used to determine which team or teams receive the extra combination(s). The result of the coin flip is also used to determine who receives the earlier pick in the event that neither of the tied teams wins one of the first three picks via the lottery.

It's incredible, they don't have their own pick.

Are they kidding, maybe they have a backroom deal with Boston, if they benefit each other, they might get something in return down the track.

Well they did have an OT game last night...a pretty late one, and they might just think it's a sunk cost. It doesn't really matter where they finish. At least it was against Minnesota. I'd rather they get further ahead of us too. I surely don't want to drop to 5. Hopefully Brooklyn doesn't have any more b2b games.
Of course I just did a simulation on tankathon and we got 5th, while Brooklyn (Boston) got first. And Philly dropped all the way to 4th....man would they be pissed.
Finally did one after a bunch of tries, where we moved to 2, but of course Washington moved to 3.

There is clearly something going on the behind the scenes. Definitely some tampering. I wouldn't put it past Ainge.

Re: Tank Fest Update Around the League
Not wishing injury to anyone, but now that it has happened, I wouldn't be too sad if Beal had to miss their next 5 games...
They have a 3 game roadtrip on the west, against Portland, Utah and Denver with the second game of the 2b2 in Denver, then a game against Detroit and Chicago. This strech could put them out of serious playoff contention if they go like 1-4 without Beal.

# waiting for the next chapter

What's so incredible about it? Should they be hellbent on finishing with the 4th worst record instead of the 3rd worst record because they don't have their pick?

Young and Lopez are not old players, it is just strange to rest guys who are under 30...but well, the Wolves won and it is good for us too.

Re: Tank Fest Update Around the League
Brooklyn plays Toronto next. But after that they should definitely win won of the next 3, and maybe two and possibly all three because they have Philly twice and Milwaukee at home.
