They currently have 6 PFs. Milsap, Faried, Arthur, Hernangomez, Lyles, Lydon. Arthur has no value to us. He just has to be included for salary, and right now Aldrich gets the same money for fewer years and is commanding a first just to dump. Mudiay has some potential but has not shown much to make him all that valuable. Neither has Lyles for that matter.

To me you get a late 1st, a project who is likely to bust in Mudiay, and a 2nd project in Lyles, while taking on Arthur. That isn't all that much imo. It is 2+ years from their respective drafts. Where they were drafted no longer determines their value--their stats do, and Bledsoe has a lot more value than any of those guys.

I like Lyles, but we have plenty of PFs who we need to develop, and Arthur could play a bit as he is a good 3 pt shooter until the rest develop.

Lyles was one and done on that UK team with Booker and Ulis right? That might be a young guy they could bring in and not mess with chemistry much. Mudiay, Lyles and a protected pick.

Yeah, I really like Lyles, but at this point I don't think we really need him or have the room to play him much. I guess the connection to Booker can be good, but I am not sure if too many little connections or cliques amongst a team is for the best either....not that it would necessarily happen but it could.

We are not in play for him. That's a pipe dream. He will want to go to a more competitive team and not a rebuilding one. If the Lakers sign George, maybe there, but good chance he stays in Cleveland too.

That's not what some national pundits are saying. Not likely but possible, imo.

What national pundits? I hope you're not talking Steve Kyler. I'm just using common sense. I'm pretty sure he will still want to compete for championships while in his prime.

There's no spacing. That team would be awful. Would have to hope to win games 95-94.

Bledsoe not all that great of a shooter either. I guess anything helps, but he shoots 33.5% from 3 compared to Rubio's 30.6% last year...for their careers it's 33.4% to 31.5%. Not that I really want to trade for Rubio though.

It's not just his 3p% though. Like he can't shoot from anywhere.

To me, this means Rose wants to be close to home and is willing to take a big pay cut to make it happen.
This could be interesting for the Cavs for sure.

I would rather have Lyles than Len. But I won't move Bledsoe to Denver for anything less than Murray until Boogie is officially signed with another team.

So, basically, I would hold on to Bledsoe until next off season. Lol

Yeah. He can't shoot and he can't finish.

I'd guess that if Jackson didn't fall and we took Fox, it would have been Bled for Andre

Yuck. I'm ok with getting something in return for Bled, and Fox would have been a pick, but Drummond for Bled is disgusting. I hate that our name keeps getting tied with him.

Im kind of split on Drummond. His free throw shooting is a real issue and makes him hard to play late in games. But man his rebounding and shot blocking could really come in handy with bender and Chriss.

Alex Len = 1.3 BPG (I know he is RFA)
Andre Drummond = 1.1 BPG

We also have 11.5 RPG Chandler for rebounding.

Not worth the risk and money.

Drummond is not a good shot blocker at all (worse than Big Sauce) and his defense overall is worse than 60 years old Tyson Chandler. We already signed a rebounding machine this summer.

To be fair, this was before we retained Big Sauce. Our offseason would have looked much different if we pulled off this trade. So saying "we already signed rebounding" doesn't really mean much. That being said, I agree, I think the way we went bout this worked out the best for us. I want ZERO part of Drummond.

Yeah. Drummond's salary is scary. I am not a fan of guys who are that poor of shooters, particularly from the line. That said, he does have the age and upside we might consider. Absolutely dominant on boards. Probably the likeliest area of growth would be on defense. Drummond should be a perrenial DPOY candidate. Instead, he's a horrid defender.

I am personally against that trade. I would rather get picks for Bled or guys on rookie deals. But I can at least see the potential fit here.

The problem is there are a ton of great PGs, so the teams who would have interest are limited. If we can't dump Knight on anybody without giving up a pick, my hope is Bledsoe gets traded and he rehabilitates his value. We should be able to get a top 2 or 3 PG in next year's draft (Miami pick) to replace Bled with how big man heavy it is. Also there are some interesting FA's next summer that might fit depending on price.

He just isn't a good defender though. His teams have consistently been better defensively when he is off the floor. There is potential there though. Nevertheless, I am not sold he would learn defense under Watson if he hasn't been able to under Van Gundy.

You're right on that and when I posted that I thought he was a little better shot blocker than he actually is. Man he's totally one of those guys who physically should be a good defender but might not have the instincts to ever put it all together.

I think we're better off moving forward with what we have rather than going after Drummond. I like watching Alan Williams play. I think JJ could help us take better advantage of Tyson. In no rush to move Bled; if his deal expires, it expires. So overall, not interested at this point.
