Draft Rivers or Waiters at #13 and Harkless at #16. Top 3 pick next year. We'd have assets and capspace next summer.

I posted something close to that on the trade board.

Gortat for Dalembert/Morris/#14/#16.

Houston then trades Lowry/Scola to LA for Gasol.

Dragic/Martin/?????/Gasol/Gortat would be a scary team.

It doesn't sound like the Suns have any interest in moving Gortat but I guarantee we could pick up one of their firsts, Dalembert, and brother Morris. If they swung Scola, Lowery and their other pick to LA for Gasol, that would be a serious lineup. I dont think we could get both picks, tho.

Also, I think the FO is looking to move Gortat at the deadline next season when our season goes to s%!&. That way we can look like we are trying to keep Nash, trying to maintain competitiveness.

Gortat's value will only get worse so trading him at the deadline doesn't make much sense. If we could get a young player on a good contract like Morris' bro and a lotto pick I think we'd do it. We know they want another pick. Imagine getting one for Gortat, buying one along with #13. That would be amazing. So much ammo for the following summer.

Rumor has it the Blazers may draft Weber State PG Damian Lillard with the No. 6 pick in the draft.
Lillard is the consensus best-PG in the draft, and according to Oregonian writer John Canzano, "[the Blazers] wouldn't chance trying to get him at No. 11." In his fourth year at Weber State, Lillard averaged 24.5 points (46.7 percent FGs, 40.9 percent 3-pointers), 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals.

Canzano then goes on to say:

JohnCanzanoBFT: You have to watch Phoenix in this Lillard thing. They're at No. 13, and might want to leap the Blazers to get him at No. 9-10.via Twitter

Chad ford did agree with him on Lillard at #6:

Chad Ford: Hearing similar RT @JohnCanzanoBFT: NBA GM tells me he thinks Blazers take Lillard at No. 6, & wouldn't chance trying to get him at No. 11. via Twitter

@chadfordinsider: More on Royce White. Now hearing more definitely promise is from Celtics at 21. via Twitter

I figured Boston would draft him if he was available. He seems like a Celtics type of Player.

I want Lillard on the suns more than any other prospect. He's the kind of guy I think you can swing for the fences on. I really think he'll be an impact player.

I like him too, but the low level of competition he enjoyed definitely inflated his stats. I think I read somewhere that the #5 pick is available via trade so if we really loved him we could swoop in and grab him there? I wonder what we would have to give up though.

Now you guys want to talk about Lillard, but no one commented on this post way before Chad Ford and Canzano :-?

Chad Ford now has Warriors taking Dion Waiters. Urgh. If that lousy franchise screw us again I`ll be seriously pissed off.

They have Klay and Curry in the backcourt. Chad Ford is blowing smoke or he doesn't know anything.

Crap he looks smooooooth (His shooting stroke). He looks qucik and explosive! Had a Jordan move in there with the ball wrap around.

My wish list with Nash, Dragic or Williams

Ross
Lamb
PJ3
Waiters
Rivers

without Draic, Nash, Williams

Lillard
Waiters
Rivers
PJ3

You're so funny. This is the second draft thread. We've discussed every prospect to death already.

I hear ya, but my point was discussing players that are a possibility next week, because of things we are hearing NOW..... So I read up on Portland possible picks (oregonian, real gm, and blazer's edge) and I shared the info (my conclusion) for discussion on that REAL possibility. So I was ahead of the game, but I recieved no feedback on my post... Now it is a topic of discussion, but WHATEVA

Here is a write up on ROSS being the best shooting guard. It rates all of the top guards and explains why. Just thought it would be interesting.....
