We don't 'run' an offense. We just run.

Replace Plumlee with a guy who can put up 10/10 and play D and we are a top 4 team in the west.

We need to offer Green (or Marcus) & Plumlee for Koufos. If they don't wanna trade Koufos, then keep Plumlee and ask for a future 1st rd pick instead.

BOOM:

Phoenix also sends some picks to Denver or one of our young talents.

Sacramento gets Faried and Dragic for their headache. Not a bad return.

I'm back on the "Bring Greg Monroe to Phoenix" bandwagon. He put up 27 pts, 18 rebounds and 6 assists vs the Mavs today. His team's won like 6 in a row and he's been playing real well.

If him and Drummond can co-exist, then I think its pretty obvious that him and Len can co-exist.

Len has more range than Drummond. Len actually has a good shot from that 15-18 ft jumper area.

Monroe's just as bad defensively as Kieff but Monroe's a WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY better rebounder and more consistent than Kieff.

I'd give him the max or close to it especially since it would be the rookie max contract not the big one. Big men like don't grow on trees.

Len + Monroe = no more rebounding problems for the Suns

Imagine the ball movement on that team, would anyone even pass the ball?

I was against Monroe coming to the Suns, but am now on the fence. With that being said, there is a problem. Word is that Detroit is looking to re-sign Monroe. Monroe's main issue with Detroit was Josh Smith. He told the FO that they couldnt co-exsist, and looking at how the Pistons have preformed since they cut him, it looks like he was right.

Anyways, Detroit cut Smith to appease Monroe (and took a big financial loss doing so). They plan on keeping Monroe, and would be smart to, as Drummonds defense helps cover Monroes lack of it.

I'd make Monroe an offer that he can't refuse. Plus we can maybe brainwash him like we did with IT.

Interesting that Orlando fans already want to trade Frye.

I know he had some fan girls on this forum who shed a tear or two when he left

Damn.

I just checked the standings and Currently the Lakers are the 4th worst team in the league. Ima be pissed if they end up keeping that pick this season. Knowing them, they will do an on-the-fly rebuild and Julius Randle & Whoever they draft will become beasts, allowing them to make the play-offs next season (giving us a non-lotto pick).

Can't see the Lakers making the playoffs for a while. And given the youth we already have (and can't find minutes for) on our team, I'd be happy to take a top 5 pick next year as opposed to this year.

...Regarding the Lakers pick...
Lakers have a big chance to be a bottom 3-4 team...
They wont make any roster changes and I can see Bryant resting every 3rd week or so...
That Lakers pick is as likely to stay with the Lakers as it is to go to the Suns in the next 2 seasons.

...Regarding Monroe...
With Pistons looking MUCH better as a team as well as Van Gundy having a big say on player acquisition and personnel.
Monroe will likely be offered a MAX contract and he will likely say yes to it, Monroe and Drummond fit each other and I think Van Gundy has or will convince Monroe by seasons end to stay.

...Regarding Suns future...
As long as Suns rely on "hot" shooting, they will falter in the Playoffs... barring Bledsoe or Dragic turning it a couple of levels up, as in being unstoppable players, which they are currently are not.
When the shot is off... you see them struggle to maintain a lead against bottom rung teams and the Suns aren't exactly defensive juggernauts as a team either.
McD/Babby/Sarver and Hornacek will have conflicting agendas by trade deadline... trading off impact players for future pieces VS trading off any piece for a legit playoff run this season.

The Monroe ship has sailed. The are 7-0 with some impressive wins since releasing Smith.
His value has gone up and Detroit doesn't release Smith unless they have full intent on keeping Monroe at any cost.

Brook Lopez
paul milsap
Al jeffereson
David West
Greg Smith
Brandon Wright
Tyson Chandller
Omar Asik
Nick Collison
Amir Johnson
Kevin Saraphin

here is the FA shopping list for next yr. I do not expect a significant deal to go down this season as
we keep chalking up the Wuglies :banghead:  I guess I am becoming tolerable to this ChuckWagon play.

I could see Greg Smith being of interest

In effort to secure the '15 LAL pick, add an effective back-up (play & cost) PF, help grease the re-signing Dragic wheels and open up cap space for free agency this summer (Suns won't have much room as it stands now)....

(near the deadline)

-Isaiah Thomas
-The T-Wolves protected pick (yes...it's two 2nds in all likelihood)

For

-Steve Nash 9.7 million dollar expiring
-Ed Davis (2 years @ 1 million)
-Lakers remove protection on this year's pick

The IT signing ends up getting them Davis, securing the high lotto LAL pick at its highest point and opening up more cap space for a FA season that has more of what this team needs for the long run, unlike last year. I also believe that if the Suns don't get the LAL pick this year, it'll be a middle 1st rounder next year.

This could hurt the Suns chances for a playoff spot this year, but personally I wouldn't mind that...I'm looking more towards the future. I'd also like to see Tyler Ennis get significant and consistent minutes at PG. The way things are looking, Ennis might be the Suns ONLY PG. The current three have hardly looked point guard-ish at all.

Return to Phoenix Suns
