Like a few days ago that he was talking to his Kings Source about it, and it sounded like there were still ongoing talks.

For as much as Gambo has been wrong, he has also been right. He knows that McD runs a tight ship and has found sources elsewhere to get his info, and good on him to do so.

Right now, its a ray of light atleast.

It doesn't make sense for a lot of reasons. He talked about depending on what happens in the next games up to the trade deadline, that will determine if we are buyers or sellers. So then we lose 3 straight and are suddenly buyers?

Anyway, the Kings are loaded in the frontcourt, even without Cousins so they would want Bledsoe, Booker, Warren and picks. We would want to keep Bled for sure to help keep Cousins. Obviously we would want to keep Booker. But with no Booker, there is no way the trade goes down. They might take Knight, but not instead of Booker, but with him and Warren. Then we would. Anyway, they don't need Len or our rookies as they have Skal, WCS, big Greek, Koufos, etc.

Gambo definitely has some credibility, he was the first to report the Gortat trade and also the ONLY one to report the Steve Nash to LAL trade on the 4th of July as it happened couple years ago.

I'm OK giving up Len. Easy choice.
I'm OK giving up our #1 this year. I'm not in love with anyone in this draft class and we already have enough rookies.
I'm OK giving up Knight.
I'm even OK giving up a Miami pick.
TJ hurts the most. I still believe in him. He has showed so much potential. BUT...something just isn't right with him.

I have my doubts about Boogie, but pairing him with Bledsoe, Booker and Chandler makes us an instant free agent destination. We might actually be able to land a decent name this offseason.

Barbosa and Tucker are solid veteran players.

Chriss, Bender, Ulis still mean we have a future (plus Booker of course).

I'm sure Obama and Trump would play well together for one allstar game too.

Come on man! The Olympics are a different story. It's Dream Team USA smashing a bunch of scrubs for a gold medal. Not much drama or stress there.

As much as I dislike Gambo's personality in the radio.. he does have credibility and he is correct about the talks between Kings/Suns.. however, It's nothing more than talks .. there is three players the Suns will not trade to the Kings for Boogie.. that's Bledsoe, Booker and Chriss.. everyone else will be on the table including our first this upcoming year and Miami's picks.. From what I'm being told, the Kings have been told by Cousins agent that if traded, Phoenix AND Washington are a prefer destination for his client becouse of Bledsoe and Wall (which is not a secret)...

Let me make this clear as it can be, there is talks between both teams.. but it's very unclear what he Suns have proposed or what the Kings have asked for. But a representative within the Suns org has said, its most likely going to take Alex Len, TJ Warren, Dragen Bender and our first in this upcoming draft..that's just the players he mentioned without even taking into consideration if the salaries matches..

Okay, I'm out for a while unless something breaks

Ray ray, what do you think the chances are this gets done? Is McD under pressure to make a splash in his last contract year?

Thanks for the info ray!

I like Bender a lot so that would be a tough pill to swallow if we ended up dealing him. :(

Like I mentioned in the trade thread, we taking Boogie AND Butler. :D

Everyone thinks we gotta trade every pick until 2050. Nah... Bender/2017 1st and Heat 1st is a legit offer. Warren and Len is the cherry on top. Boston has picks, but they don't got players (assets) to trade.

The thing with Boston is we are right on that level when it comes to trad-able assets. I keep seeing people mention the Brooklyn pick, but even the Celtic fans will tell you (and have been telling people), just because they have that pick doesnt mean they would be willing to trade that pick. I mean its currently the #1 pick in the draft.

Ive been reading all these Cousins to Suns threads all over RealGM, and the same thing keeps getting brought up, Celtics could make a better offer. And in those same threads, you see Celtic fans say, yeah, we probably could, but we wont, as that #1 draft pick aint going anywhere. So once you take that draft pick out of their trad-able assets, i think we have them beat, as i think we would trade the #2 pick, no problem.

It's unsure to be honest... the Kings are not completely sold on trading Cousins.. but they're also not sure if he's the answer since they haven't made the playoffs with him .. But the Kings poor decisions making and lack of drafting quality players from college hasn't help Cousins.. so let's not put it ALL on him... In addition, the Kings haven't made the playoffs since 2006 .. meanwhile the Suns haven't made it since 2010.. both organizations are desperate to make a splash.

There isn't a big man in the NBA this very movement that is better than Demarcus Cousins when he's on his A game.. Some within the Suns FO believe that if the trade happens now, they'll make the playoffs and possibly push the #1 seed in the first round.

They could have simply drafted him. It's possible they have some buyer's remorse, but they traded that pick for Bogdan and a much later one, which they used to draft a C despite already having the best C in the NBA. I don't think they are necessarily after Chriss just b/c he's a hometown kid and a great prospect.

They probably want our picks so they can draft their own guys who fit their system/plan, and/or guys they could not have gotten like TJ and Bender.

Absolutely easy decision if Cousins was available.

Pay the price - Len, Warren, Bender, Knight, Tucker, Chriss, Dudley, Ulis, Williams, Jones, Phoenix, Phoenix, Miami, Miami.

50% of that for Cousins / 50% of that for Butler.

Bledsoe, Booker, Butler, Cousins, Chandler and $20m for the bench.

We'd be the next best team behind GSW and Cleveland, and younger.

If we can get Cousins for a lopsided deal we have to do it, but I still feel like, absent Vlade acting like a moron (and I fully believe he is a moron as a GM), the best way for us to build is to continue to add to our core with younger guys. I would rather keep TJ, draft Ball or Fultz, and keep our picks/Chriss/Bender. This trade has to be measured relative to what is given up.

I am not sure a team of

Bledsoe
Booker
Tucker
Chriss (if he's left)
Cousins

has a chance in hell of contending. I think a team of

Bledsoe, plus Fultz/Ball
Booker
Warren
Chriss and Bender
Len or another center

has a chance to contend down the line. We'd have extra picks to plug holes without eating up cap space, and the cap space to go out and sign a star if one does decide to leave his current team in FA.

I agree Cousins on his own will not change the franchise (especially if we're trading alot), you need a 2nd just like Boston, Miami, Cleveland had to add 2 when they were terrible.

Cousins would have to sacrifice the 6 Year Super Max which is worth about $60m more than what we could offer at next contract, though it may not be his choice to be traded.

I am all in, if you can get 1, you can get 2. The only difference between Cleveland and us is their top 2 players.

Make the playoffs is an enormous stretch, and push the 1 seed is a complete joke. This can't be serious. And your first post is exactly what Gambo said and we know there has been talk about him wanting to play with Wall and maybe Bledsoe. Give us some new stuff if you have it. Would be greatly appreciated! :D

Question. Boogie was paired with Rudy Gay who is arguably much better than Booker. Do we think that Bledsoe makes the difference and finally gets Boogie to the playoffs?

What doesn't make sense is Sacramento sending Cousins to us, helping us win 5 extra games and giving them pick 11 instead of pick 3 this draft.

Surely they'd be better off doing the deal post season to ensure they got a top 3 pick to get Fultz / Ball / Smith.
