Will we extend Bridges or will Sarver not pay 4 players big money for 1 or 2 years?

I'm thinking they aren't messing around. If he isn't 100%, there are no advantages of playing him. Let him rest.
I know it's year 3 but maybe that '2nd year wall' is what we're dealing with.
Guessing he won't play tomorrow either and he'll basically have missed about a week and a half before he goes back out there (practice aside)

I mean, for what it's worth, I would say that the Lakers are at least cowardly tanking like some of these other teams. Even when they sat both AD and Lebron, they were still trying to win games, and have been. And both are back today in a pretty meaningless game if they aren't going for 6th, so the optics are that they aren't sandbagging, even though it's only because they know Denver will probably let Portland win tomorrow

Honestly I'd rather have Payne than Rubio as a backup PG. Holmes would be super nice off the pine though.

Someone haven't been watching the past 2 years. Vogel got him playing terrific defense again.

He has also typically not been great after long layoffs if I remember correctly.

They are not really tanking. It's definitely not out of the realm of possibility that the Lakers win tomorrow and Portland loses to Denver. It's too bad Portland has the tie breaker over the Lakers.

Monty considering resting some guys...not really a fan of that, would rather make Utah have to win

Bring on Lakers.

We have 50% of our rotation up for extensions so they're going to earn it.

Denver might start shooting in the wrong basket before they allow themselves to win and have to face the Lakers round 1 :)

I don't see utah losing tomorrow so I don't mind the suns resting but I also don't understand why they would have the guys play today if they weren't going to play tomorrow. Today's win alone doesn't matter at all.

Portland is super hot though. If they were healthy all year they'd probably have 5-7 more wins. Now I know this doesn't help my case for this game but Denver may not like Portland as a matchup either, and there is a little bit of potential karma in play if you intentionally lose to an opponent, showing you want to lose to them and matchup up with them in the first round.

However, the Clips may have a very hard time losing to the Thunder, which means Denver would drop to 4th if they lose and I'm sure they'd prefer a road of Dallas/Utah and then an LA team. Of course the Lakers may lose and they also may lose a play in game.

Utah could lose, never know. But it looks like we're playing 5 playoff games this year.

I can definitely see Utah losing tomorrow in Sacramento. I can’t wait to watch it (if we win tomorrow).

So are we pretty much just waiting to see the play-in game between the Dubs and Lakers to see who we draw?

GS and Memphis play tomorrow and the winner is the 8 and plays the Lakers.

A play in for the play in

East has the same thing with Wash and Charlotte playing for 8 tomorrow.

I kind of hope Washington plays Brooklyn in the first round. Westbrook against 2 of his former teammates. Obviously I don't think Washington would have much of a chance, but they've played a lot better when Beal and Westbrook play and it also seems like Brooklyn doesn't play as well when all 3 of their stars play, as opposed to two of them. Someone always seems to shoot very poorly.

Would be cosmic justice if the Jazz win, Clippers tank the Thunder game, and Lakers lose the first play in game anyway, leaving us avoiding the Lakers and Clippers until the WCF. I would crap myself.

Washington would be the toughest of anyone they could potentially face round 1. The Wiz had the first 6 weeks or so of the season destroyed by covid and injuries and have been pretty decent since and really good the past month. Now I'd still expect Brooklyn to win.
