Why trade him now though (for a pick THIS late)? He will have a lot more value in the middle of next season. I think we still might be trading him for McCollum though.

I keep thinking one of you is gonna surprise us with good news. And then nothing. Disappointing night after trying to rush home from work.

That's actually probably a good thing. As much as some people wanted to trade Gortat, the guy had to work HARD to go from the 57th pick or whatever to being a top 10-15 center in this league...he probably is the perfect guy to mentor Len, but obviously we better trade him for something before losing him for nothing.

So we aren't going to get McCollum/Caldwell-Pope or whoever?

Hmm...I really hope that we don't just watch Gortat leave as a FA after this season to replace him with Len.

No way...they are completely rebuilding...they don't want a vet....they are going super young...with Gerald Wallace as the mentor. I just wonder if they will trade Rondo eventually though.

Gortat hates being in Phoenix though. He'll probably tell Len "Get out as soon as you can"

I'm sure Gortat will LOVE showing someone else the ropes on a team he won't be on next year.

Things not looking great, right now, IMO. More bummed out, so far this year, than with the Marshall pick last year. Just felt like more interesting moves would be happening for the Suns.

You don't keep Gortat, you trade him for assets. Then you pick up someone like O'Neal to show Len the ropes. Start Len right away and let him develop. Bring O'Neal off the bench if Len is struggling badly.
