No I don't think Tucker would be worth it if we have lebron. Just let Warren be the back up SF for whatever limited minutes he would get. It would be a waste to spend around 4 million a year on tucker for the 20 or so minutes he would get a game.

Would he even get those minutes if Melo came? We'd have LBJ, Melo, Morris and Warren all capable of playing the three. No need for PJ.

PJ's cap hold is $1.1M, Green and Len make $3.5M each.

According to Dave King at Brightside PJ's cap-hold is 2.8m unless I saw it wrong.

If that number is right, who would you prefer to keep between Len, Tucker, and Green?

Just realized the need to incorporate the Coro factor. Of course we want to keep Tucker, under any circumstances! It's like we wouldn't match an offer for him! A sign-and-trade, maybe, if the offer's good enough...

Ah. Yeah. Numbers.

Seriously, I'd be sad to see those two go. Worth it, obviously, but still.

Bledsoe/Ennis
Dragic/Goodwin
Melo/Tucker/Warren
Lebron/Markieff
Plumlee

Suddenly, our bench lacks size and shooting. A shooter at a discount we might be able to procure. But a 5? Hard to find decent ones willing to play for the minimum.

Ray Allen for vet min and Kaman/Hill/Okafor for room exception. Boom.

Green. We need spacing. Can't have Dragic be our only reliable 3pt threat.

Yea I don't think so I just said that as like a max but its a complete waste of money to pay him for that. And I really do like PJ and hope we keep him when the Lebron thing doesn't work out

Shamsports: $1,148,163

Shamsports is correct. That article uses the 250% previous salary cap hold for Larry Bird free agents coming off a rookie scale(this is what is being used for Bledsoe's cap hold). Tucker is an Early Bird free agent not coming off a rookie scale contract so his cap hold is 130% his previous contract which is the number Shamsports has.

Edit: Actually that article is even more wrong, looks like they are using 250% of Tucker's QO not his previous year.

The good news is we'll have a over 2 weeks to sort things out. FA starts July 1, but teams can't sign players until I believe July 8. Then the Suns would have 10 days to match. I can't imagine LeBron or Melo want to drag this out and will likely announce where they are signing before July 8th, meaning we'll have a clear picture before Tucker is even able to sign an offer sheet from another team.

Tucker's a FA right?

And Len is a former #5 pick and Green just had a breakout season and he's on a 1 year contract.

Should be incredibly easy to send those guys away.

(much like the Chicago sports quiz from SNL)

A. The Shot refers to:

1. MJ's shot against Cleveland in 1989.
2. Ray Allen's shot against the Spurs in 2013
3. Tim Thomas's shot against the Lakers in 2006.
4. Robert Horry throwing a towel at Danny Ainge's face in 1997

Correct Answer: 3, but 4 is also acceptable

B. The Most Valuable Jersey in Suns Collector's History:

1. Charles Barkley
2. Walter Davis
3. Elliot Perry
4. Alando Tucker

Correct Answer: 3, only if you have the matching high socks.

In all seriousness I doubt it happens, but who knows.

The Shot could also refer to Rex Chapman in Game 4 against Seattle in 1997 or Raja Bell in Game 6 against the Clippers in 2006. Just sayin.

Yet The Shot Heard around the world is ignored? :o

The Shot is Gar Heard's shot in Game 5 of '76 finals that sent the game into 3rd OT. The others rank below!

Yeah, the Suns would probably get a pick or two for these guys. Creating the cap space is the easy part of the plan :)

Ray Allen to replace Green? Yeah I could do that. There are other shooters in the world.

Hill's a real knucklehead, and I'd hate to add him.

Between PJ, GG, and Len, I keep Len. I know he didn't show much last year, but I think he's got the hardest attribute to duplicate - length that would frustrate the likes of Duncan. Kaman's a real interesting suggestion though. I'd add Varejao to the list, depending on the market for his services.

letsgosuns wrote:That story is very exciting, especially because of who wrote it. Wojnarowksi is probably the number one NBA insider in the media at this point. This might become the most exciting free agency period in the history of the Suns franchise. The Suns legitimately are the only team in the league that can offer a max to Lebron and another superstar while still having a team that is ten deep with a roster of really good players. The lineup possibilities are ridiculous.

Bledsoe/Ennis
Dragic/Green/Goodwin
Lebron/Marcus Morris/Warren
Carmelo/Markieff Morris
Plumlee/Len

Or if not Carmelo, then Bosh like the article said. There is not another team in the league that can offer this opportunity to James unless all players involved take big pay cuts. This is awesome.

Maybe it wont, probably it won't happen, but about damn time the media got on board to announce that Phoenix is the BEST option for all major FA's!!

90% chance that LeBron stays in Miami. Wade and Bosh probably too. Don't know where Love and Carmelo will go but I hope somewhere in the east. It will suck if teams like Clippers, Warriors or Rockets gets even better.

If by miracle we somehow land Bron and Melo, Melo is going to have his work cut out for him guarding the pfs of the west. I think we'd want to bring in a big body that can bang down low to try to wear them out. Can kief play that roll?

Melo wouldn't have to guard PFs, LeBron can.

This is like playing the lotto for Suns' fans. Wojo has announced that Robert Sarver has bought a ticket in the Lebron Sweepstakes; even though we know the odds are against us, the report allows us to fantasize on our possible winnings until James has officially signed with Miami.

But wasn't that a problem for them in the finals against san Antonio? They had no big man depth and were forced to have bron guard 4s. The spurs bigs basically got whatever they wanted down low
