Suns have to hit a minimum salary number before the start of the season. Would you rather we waste cap space on free agents who are looking for multi-year deals?
Acquiring Amare and his contract would give us the option to be a player in next year's free agency period. Or we could trade him for a disgruntled star before the trade deadline. We don't need draft picks for this deal to make sense.
I think jumping the gun on minimum salary. Nothing really has happened in free agency or the trade market yet. Players cannot even sign a contract until Thursday I believe.
So, at this point, a bit premature to think the Suns will not increase salary. Bledsoe alone would probably do the trick.
