Maybe. They really need to get Jordan or they are in trouble. Phil said he wanted Melo to play the 4.

Anthony should be at the 4, with Jordan at the 5. That's at least a decent core, all they would need is to find a top notch PG or SG in the next draft, develop the Latvian and maybe they could be a playoff contender in 2016.

I just really feel that LMA is going to the Rockets. I just can't see him turning down the chance to play with Harden and D12 especially with the Rockets playing in the West Finals last season.

What could their Center plan possibly be? A trade for a Tier 1 center? DeAndre Jordan? I think all of the good free agent centers are signed and locked into contracts... unless it is the PHI centers. Henry Sims? Embiid?

Kanter? Lopez (who LA played w/ in Portland)? There are a couple decent guys still out there.

I don't know about that, but some guy was saying on the GB that they are already a top 3 team in the west. I asked them how come they were a 6 seed and if OKC had been healthy they might have been even a worse seed. He then told me I didn't understand basketball.

To be honest though I did think SA was playing like a top 3 team at the end of the year, but I don't think that can continue much longer, especially with Cleveland and OKC at full strength.

I'm not saying we get him, I'm asking about his place with the Knicks if Phil wants Melo at the 4
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Bledsoe/Ish/Goodwin
Knight/Booker
Tucker/Warren
LMA/West
Chandler/Len

Seems like a pretty decent team if you ask me. Wouldn't be as strong with Amare but still pretty good too.

I don't see how we get LMA and Chandler without giving up Tucker and the twins. We may even have to ship Len.

I doubt that he goes to Houston simply because one of the most commonly reported things that we've heard about him is that he didn't like being in Lillard's shadow in Portland. He would be completely buried in Harden's shadow in Houston. He would be Chris Bosh.

Kendall Marshall just announced his availability. That should close LMA for Dallas.

People here won't like it, but I'd be fine with Marshall as the backup. Would prefer Mo Williams for shooting reasons though.

Well he could eventually play with Melo or with a center or with both. That is what he said before the draft. I quoted it in one of the threads.

You have to have at least a three man rotation at the bigs and KP is unlikely to be ready to start any time soon. I still wouldn't mind getting him, especially if we need to send out Bledsoe to get LaMarcus.

I wish the cap had the big jump this year.

Tucker, Marcus Morris and Reggie Bullock plus Cleveland's 1st rounder next, and a Suns future 1st rounder in 2016 or 2017, done and done.

Still need to add more salary. Granger, Goodwin, McNeal, Leuer all need to go to get to 15-17 mill

Did you hear he didn't like that? I heard that Lillard gets all the commercials and endorsements though, so I guess it makes sense.

Yeah, he'd definitely be the face of our franchise. We'd just be solid all around too.

Does he love shooting 3s though? I know he can, but that's all Houston wants. Scoring at the rim and 3s. He plays a lot of midrange, as does Warren, so our spacing could be problematic at times, but we don't emphasize it nearly to the extent that Houston does.

Supposedly he doesn't want to be a second or third fiddle like he could be in Houston. Who knows really.

If you see McD make a salary dump out of nowhere today, that's a goooooooooooooood sign.

I keep checking twitter for any inkling of a bigger move.

Detroit picking up Baynes was a good sign :).

I don't think Bledsoe is going anywhere if LMA chose the Suns, that would be like the ultimate dick move, having him at the recruitment pitch and then sending him away, would instantly sour the LMA-Suns relationship.

P.J. Tucker, having played with LMA in college, should have been at the recruitment pitch, that he wasn't speaks volumes to me. He's a goner along with the lesser Morris along with some picks thrown in if LMA were to choose Phoenix......still unlikely.

Even the best chess players lose sometimes.

If LMA was so gung ho on going to the Spurs, why even hold any meetings>?

As crappy as it is to say, LMA could just be using us amongst other teams to leverage a higher market value for himself. Though, to me that doesn't make much sense as he easily commands max money.

Portland has no problem giving him max money now, apparently, in the form of 5 years, approx. 110 million. And everyone else is glad to give him 4-80. But that doesn't allow him to take advantage of the crazy spike in cap for the next season. So he wants teams to do a one year with a handshake that they will give him max after that. At that point, max will be crazy high, probably about 5-174 in Portland's case. They aren't willing to agree to that at this point. But, allegedly, San Antonio (and I would assume the Suns as well) would do something along those lines (although they can only do four after next season). Although it wouldn't be max, it would be enough to beat Portland's current max offer (110) over that time frame.

This all according to the aforementioned post from the Blazers forum.
