I doubt Whiteside leaves Miami unless there's a big meltdown over there where they miss the playoffs or get swept in the firstround and they all point fingers at each other etc. and Wade demands his loyalty contract.

But if he did leave, I bet he'd go to another big market, the Lakers or the Knicks. He just seems like that kind of guy. And if he wanted to go to a good team with a great coach who'd bring out the best in him, he'd go to the Mavs.

I'm glad he got it repaired instead of removed.

There has to be a deal that gets Oladipo on this team. He's playing really poorly this year but I think he can turn it around.

On Jan 15, a Knight/Kieff package for the Dipo and fillers?

I don't think pairing Knight with a negative trade value guy like Kieff is a good idea. If you're going to move Knight, move him for the best value; don't cripple the trade by attaching Kieff, you know?

Looks like it may have been worse than originally expected it to be.

I wonder if he will be ready for start of training camp.

They can't afford him with Wade being a FA. Chandler would make sense for them and would pair up well with Dragic. We might end up with Mcbob for Chandler and archie at the end but that's a risk I would be willing to take. If he walks then he walks at least we moved Chandler that makes no sense for our roster especially with bledsoe out for season.

Then we bring DJ Khaled here to phoenix to make sure Whiteside resigns with us. I'm sure they can find other stuff to do then jet ski in Arizona.

Yeah, it was just a random thought. I like the blockbusters deals.

I don't think so. The media/Suns likely assumed Bledsoe would remove the meniscus again to come back sooner since he did it last time, but there isn't really a point this season. Repairing it takes a year to recover but it's better for the player.

I sincerely believe that Bledsoe could come back before. I think this turbulent time can wear his image, and speed recovery would not be ideal

Just surprised, I suppose. From the tape it looked like a bruised knee or something. This season has really gone up in smoke. I don't remember this much of a free fall in about a month timeframe.

Phoenix can apply for the Disabled Player Exception with the Eric Bledsoe injury. If granted the exception will be worth $5.46m.

Phoenix must apply by the 15th of January. If granted they can acquire (trade/FA/claim) players who are in the last year of their contract.

What if they have an option but this is the last guaranteed year?

Theoretically, if we had it we might be able to do Kieff for Lawson and Jones without including Tucker (either because he sucks offensively and isn't a fit in Houston who values spacing, or because we don't want to for some reason).

But really, I'm just curious, because it's a pretty limited pool of guys who are in their final years, and in most trades we have enough of a mix of salaries to make them work without the exception. If it can be used on option guys it opens up the pool a lot more.
