If you want to make him feel good.....No way. If you didn't learn anything with Durant leaving, then I don't know what to say. But hey, I guess you rather drive your Lamborghini on Main St in Oklahoma rather than Rodeo Dr in Beverly Hills.

Dipo and Adams or LA :-? I'll take that bet 8-)

If he leaves to go to LA it will likely be because he was born and grew up there and was a fan of the Lakers and always dreamed of playing for them and feels he can fill in Kobe's shoes. I think it's more that than driving his Lamborghini in Beverly Hills.

I haven't spoken to Westbrook personally, but I know many multi-millionaire athletes and celebrities and trust me, its about driving your Lamborghini in Beverly Hills.

Next time one of my friends (or a friend of a friend) has a movie premiere in LA, you and I will go BW, then you will understand. You can take pictures of all of the celebrities and athletes on the Red Carpet and post here.

How about this? The next time Kevin Hart or Jamie Foxx comes to town and do a show, we will go via tix from them and you can meet them at the after party and I am sure some Suns' players will be there

Well of course there are a lot of celebrities and athletes in Beverly Hills and at those places. But there are a lot of them that are not there as well. I don't doubt that those with money are the ones who go and are invited. Of course they would go. Most people would.

Basketball seems to be Westbrook's focus though. He puts in the work. He may go to LA because he loves it there and spent the first 19 years of his life there. It would be hard not to. It's home. But if the consensus is that he is going to go there anyway, than how much is someone going to give up for him?

Nothing! He will walk, because word is Russell isn't promising anything.

Yeah, I think most of the OKC FO thinks he will walk but still won't trade him unless it's an overpay (say they won't trade him unless it's a massive overpay).

Rex chapman proclaims devin booker is going to be a good player. Hold the phone!!!!!!!!!!!! Hes a clown.

Ahh, I should've realized that "Suns have some players" meant "Devin Booker is good".

Even worse "insight" than I originally miss quoted.

You guys are in trouble. Nobody not named the Lakers are trading for him and the Lakers won't because he is a FA next year.

We just lost a top-3 player in the NBA and we're replacing him with Andre Roberson. Anyone who thinks we're not in some level of trouble needs to have their head examined.

But the fact that you lumped a guy traded well before his RFA, a guy traded in the middle of his RFA season, and a guy who walked in free agency together in "selling your stock before it has zero value" doesn't give me a ton of confidence in that opinion.

There are offers on the table for him, whether you think "nobody not named the Lakers are trading for him" or not. But they'll only trade him if he says he's gone. He's not exactly one to hide his feelings. They'll know if he's seriously considering other teams in FA.

Yeah, I wouldn't listen to that. I think there is a pretty good chance Russ stays.

FWIW, as someone who's followed Russ closely, I think the reason they're keeping him is bc there's a decent shot he stays. I'm not over confident in it, but I always thought he could either way if KD stayed or left. He's got his own team now, and he's never been a guy to be big into media. If (big if) Presti puts a solid team around him I'd feel decent about him staying, which is a big part of why I don't see him traded.

Also, agree with dbrandon, I'd love Tucker.

Edit: Also, random note but you guys are going to be fun to watch this year if summer league is any indication. Gonna have to catch more Suns games.

They won't trade him because they can't. Talk is cheap, how are you going to get someone to pay retail on an item that' has been discontinued let alone a mark up? They need to do what Minny did with Love.

If we want Westbrook... and this is the type of moment McMully has been setting himself up for... play the UCLA trump card. Trade Bled and Tucker + ? for Love, then make a strong play in free agency with Watson leading the charge. Appeal to the inner Bruin.

I think Phnx is enough of a social step up. Its not LA, but its certainly not OKC either.

If he won't commit either way, it's tough to trade him unless you get a key piece, young players with serious potential or picks likely to be in the lottery. Otherwise I don't think it's worth it if they really don't know what his plans are. Just opening up cap space can now be pretty valuable after the spending spree and the cap projection being lower with a better FA class next year.

I can see LA from the growing up their standpoint, but if he really wants to compete during the prime of his career and have a chance of being on a good team it doesn't make sense, and if you look at the rest of the teams, outside of Boston it doesn't make sense because no one else though he has mentioned NY as being a place he really likes a few times.

He doesn't really seem like a Brad Stevens type of player either.

I guess if the Lakers offered Russell and a first rounder this year it would be something to really consider. But I also know they are really high on Cameron Payne.

So we are putting zero stock into Woj's report now? It was merely front office spin?

The front office put that out there to field offers and try to pretend they have some leverage.

I guess I am not sure what report you are talking about. Sean Marks article? That didn't say much. Maybe I am missing one, but the last thing I saw Woj say was
Speculation will be rampant from now until next summer as to the superstars future, but the Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski is giving the Thunder a better chance than most are to keep this superstar.

“I don’t think he’s dying to leave [Oklahoma City],” he told Colin Cowherd on the Herd this afternoon. “Anybody who would potentially trade for him would have to know that he’d re-sign with them before they would give up all of those assets.”

“His mindset right now is on the team that they have; can we add pieces in the short term, can we add pieces in free agency, etc. That doesn’t mean he isn’t leaving next year, but his attitude isn’t ‘aw man, Kevin left I’m screwed, I need to get out of here’. I’ve been told Russell is determined to lead the team they have and he likes the town and bringing in Oladipo and Steven Adams. Those are his guys.”

“I think he’s embracing this. He can go out next summer and get a $200 million extension from Oklahoma City. They will not in the short term be putting him out in trade talks.”

That’s quite a lot to digest, but at the moment the all-seeing and all-knowing Woj believes that Westbrook likes his chances with the Thunder this season, especially if they can grab one more major piece and the team will also let the situation play itself out until next summer when he can cash in wherever he goes.
