Re: NBA Draft and NCAA Basketball
Ben Simmons is playing genuine PG on both ends so maybe it's possible with Doncic.
If Booker and Doncic is even passable on defense it could be one of the GOAT backcourts.

Offensively it probably works. Defense would be the question. It would be worth a look though.

Doncic is 18. He is a decent athlete. He is one of the smartest basketball players I have ever seen, especially at 18. He is Danny Ainge, Larry Bird, Kobe, smart. There is no reason to believe that he cannot improve his defense. We have seen this over and over again. Teams fall in love with mega athletes with no brain and they fail. Alex Len is an example. Players who are even poor athletes that are smart seem to be able to stick around in the league. You take a player like Doncic who is a good athlete but not great, extremely smart, and mega skilled. Well, now you are in the Steph Curry, Larry Bird, category.
I would be thrilled to to have Doncic, Ayton, or Bamba.

Here's a good read about Davon Reed's former teammate Bruce Brown Jr. ESPN has him at #12 in their top-100.

Re: NBA Draft and NCAA Basketball
Lots of prospects and some likely lottery picks on ESPN tonight.
7PM ET Duke vs Michigan St (Marvin Bagley III and Trevon Duval vs Miles Bridges and Jaren Jackson Jr)...maybe 4 lottery picks
9:30PM ET Kentucky vs Kansas (Kentucky has a few guys projected to go first round...Kevin Knox maybe lottery, and Hamido Diallo - SG and Nick Richards - C, both mid to late first)

I think donic can be a fine defender I just think at his size the little quick pgs would give him or booker trouble. Now theres a question of how much that matters because those lightning quick guys give damn near everyone trouble and you could offset it by posting up those little guys on o.
Since this year is a wash the suns should probably give booker a look at pg simply to see how it looks defensively in case they are staring at the possibility of taking donic next summer.

I think if we end up with Doncic he should probably be the point guard if it's between him and Booker. I mean they would both handle it but it's probably just probably more natural for Doncic and he's probably less turnover prone.

I agree offensively donic is the more natural distributor and while they would share duties he is probably the defaco pg. But someone will need to guard the opposing pg and thats what gets tricky. I'd see how booker does trying to guard 1s a little this season.

Yeah, I was kind of thinking Jackson could perhaps switch onto guards if he is playing but then you may not want Booker trying to guard Durant, Kawhi or George.

Re: NBA Draft and NCAA Basketball
Booker has the tools to guard PGs (size, quickness). He did have a couple of good defensive games already.
He actually is a better on ball defender, as he often gets lost when playing off-ball. If he is a passable defender against ballhandlers and Doncic and Jackson can cover the opponents wings, we should have enough defensive power to win games with our offense (if that makes any sense)

I think we are stuck in the 5th position.(in reverse)
We can't outtank Kings, Mavs, Bulls and Hawks. If we win like 30 games this season, even the Nets may be higher than us and make us 6th.

Re: NBA Draft and NCAA Basketball
Anyone see what happened with Bagley's eye? I was driving home at the time and haven't found videos, bummed he's out the rest of the game right when I start watching though.
Jaren Jackson had an impressive first half stat line, 4 turnovers is way too many though. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up ranked towards the end of season, his length and apparent ability to shoot the 3 are going to be tantalizing come draft time. Not extremely high on anyone else in this game, although Duval has been a better distributor than I expected so far even though that shot is pretty bad.

I missed the Bagley eye poke unfortunately. Heard the commentators mention it was friendly fire?
Grayson Allen has been having a helluva game.

Just Euros or anyone international? I mean a bunch in the top 5 have other than maybe Darko and Bargnani, but those guys were not killing it in Euro leagues, at least from what I remember.
But the Gasol brothers, Dirk, AK47, Arvydas Sabonis, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Peja Stojakovic, Dominique Wilkins, Boris Diaw, Goran Dragic, Vlade Divac, Toni Kukoc, Detlef Schrempf, Drazen Petrovic, Sarunas Marciulionis
There are a bunch more, like Bogdanovics and many more
Now if you mean international in general,
If you include South America, Manu Ginobili, Barbosa
If you include Africa, Hakeem Olajuwon, Dikembe Mutombo
If you include China, Yao Ming
Most of the below came over for college:
If you include Australian, Ben Simmons, Andrew Bogut,
If you include Canada, Steve Nash, Wiggins
If you include Jamaica, Patrick Ewing
If you include the Virgin Islands, Tim Duncan
I'm sure I'm missing a ton too.

Re: NBA Draft and NCAA Basketball
Jaren Jackson is a scout's dream PF similar to Porzingis, Isaac, Chriss, Bender (PFs taken with high picks since 2015):
Length, athletic, young, blocks shots, outside shooting.
Whether he has a star factor probably depends on whether he can expand his offensive game to be a 18+ ppg scorer.
Basically the same write up as the others.

I thought the EC teams would beat up on each other, but I also thought the Magic, Pacers, Knicks and Nets would be worse. The Nets tonight are hanging with Boston and don't have D Lo, or Lin for that matter.
The thing is, if we finish 5th, we have a good chance of jumping top 3. But if anyone behind us jumps and we don't (like Sac did this year), we could drop to 6th, which would really suck. At least there are a couple of likely good players there, and Williams would probably be the pick if he plays well because there are a bunch of 3/4s and that's the last thing we need. Or we could go for Sexton if he impresses this year, or maybe even Duval, but it might be too high for him and could get him with Heat pick.
Even though I want to beat the Lakers, it's somewhat good for tank purposes that we lost twice to one of the WC bottom feeders. I don't know how we will do against the Kings and Mavs and how many times we play them.
I imagine we beat the Bulls almost for sure and probably the Hawks, but they will get better with Budenholzer as the season goes on I think.

Wow, Duval with 10 assists and 6 steals against top tier competition? Bad shooting night 7-20 though, 0-3 from 3 and 3-7 from line. Can't have that.
