Not sure who this guy is but 10k followers
@DJJazzyJody: The Phoenix Suns are expected to make Gordon Hayward a significant offer, possibly a max deal, but Utah Jazz will match, per sources.

LeBron's defense wasn't a problem, it was the Spurs that had to adjust to him by going smaller and starting Diaw.

Yeah, as I've said all along they have no reason not to match a max. Far fewer reasons than we have for not matching a Bledsoe max.

Re: 2014 Official FA Thread 2
Hopefully all this Lebron and Melo talk will spike Love's interest with Phoenix. All we need from Mr. Love is just a public statement saying he wants to play for just phoenix. With that we'll have all the leverage and be able to get away with a trade that does not include dragic or bledsoe. With bled, dragic, love, plumlee and one of hell of a deep talented bench that has to be very appealing to lebron or melo.
I keep trying to tell myself that neither lebron or melo is going to happen but the fact that it is possible has my mind wondering...

Re: 2014 Official FA Thread 2
If possible (which it is) I'd much rather pair Lebron with Love. I think Love would be more willing to play off the ball more than Melo. And with 3 players who would need the ball in there hands (Bledsoe, Dragic, Lebron) adding another ball dominate player like Melo would be tough. I can see it now, Love rebound and outlet to Bledsoe and the alleyoop to Lebron on the other end. If we got Lebron I'd be willing to over pay for Love too. Keeping the core of Bledsoe, Dragic, and ideally Kief.

Re: 2014 Official FA Thread 2
The Suns have about 23 million dollars committed to Dragic, Green, Len, The Morris Brothers, Plumlee, and Goodwin for next season. The Salary Cap is projected to 63.2 million. Eric Bledsoe's cap hold is 6.57 million according to Bright Side of the Sun. So the Suns have about 33 plus million to spend on free agents if they renounce the rights to Frye and Tucker. The Wojnarowski article states the max contracts for Lebron and Carmelo are 20.7 million and 22.4 million respectively. So the Suns need to clear about ten million dollars. That can be done by trading Green and the Morris brothers. You still keep Dragic, Plumlee, Goodwin, Len, and then re-sign Bledsoe.
I also think there are other options to clear cap space as well, such as trading Dragic and the Morris brothers. That would clear the necessary cap space. That would also leave the Suns with a more traditional backcourt in Bledsoe and Green rather than a two point guard system. Gerald Green spotting up from three and running the break with Lebron, Carmelo, and Bledsoe would be amazing. Even Plumlee runs the break well. It would be so awesome.
Dragic and the Morris brothers are up for new contracts after this season. Therefore, I think they would be the ones to go because there is no way to pay Lebron, Carmelo, and Bledsoe, and then pay Dragic and the Morris brothers what they want. Gambo has already said regardless of who the Suns sign, they are eventually going to have to choose between Bledsoe and Dragic because the team is not willing to pay both of them big money. I also think most Suns fans would be okay with trading Dragic if it meant he was getting replaced by Lebron and Carmelo. No doubt.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all about this Lebron & Melo idea, but I might be higher on Lebron & Bosh for less money/drama. Bosh would cost less and allow us to keep more pieces intact while still having good chemistry with Lebron.

if Gordon Hayward is getting a max deal it's a sure sign the market is going to be insane this offseason. Gonna be some crazy head scratching contracts handed out.JJ13 wrote:Not sure who this guy is but 10k followers

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Seriously. A max contract for a guy that shoots 41% fg and 30% 3pts. What a joke.

Gambo is a realist. Lebron to phx isn't happening. But it's not like we didn't try.
But he does say...

Jesus.... Can't a guy just take a nap and wake up in the same world? My two least favorite players, possibly at the expense of my fav.....
I don't know what to think about this recent batch of shroomer rumors. Careful not to getting played as leverage for the players... Much like what Kobe did.
And no **** about Hayward .... The new CBA designed by the owners to protect the owners from the owners is getting corrupted by the owners. They are blindly following the BigThreeTheory where teams have 75 -80 % of their salary tied up in 3 guys, a few at the mid range and 7 or 8 at the min or on rook deals.
Ironically, a model created by players seems to be the yellow brick road to Oz. Just watch out for the poppy fields, as once you go down that path it's going to take more than three heels clicks to get back home

Well I think his first tweet meant that the Suns are not going to romance him in the sense of selling something false. They are just going to say here is our roster. We give you a fantastic shot at winning and you get to add Carmelo or Bosh.

Same here. Mostly because Parsons, IMO, can play better off the ball, and would fit better with our group of guys. Also, because he won't demand as much money as Hayward, and because the Rockets are less likely to match.

Re: 2014 Official FA Thread 2
This is frustrating as a Suns fan. We can all sit here and look at the possibility of trotting a starting five of Bledsoe/Dragic/Lebron/Melo/Plumlee, and we all understand how great that team would be. And to think all three would be getting paid like they deserve. It's amazing that Lebron and Melo could get together, with that offer on the table, and say, "We can do better".
In reality, they can't. And if they pass on an opportunity like this because our "market" isn't big enough, it's a decision I think they'd both regret.

I'd Iike Hayward but not at the max or anything close to that.
