http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=2btdzuw

Suns get:
Rashard Lewis
Brandon Bass

Magic get:
Jrich
Turk

Suns do it because they have a glut of wings and no power forwards. They get a stretch four to play alongside Fropez and a traditional four to play alongside Frye. Magic do it because they have a glut of bigs and not enough offensive spark from the perimeter, and they're getting a player who has already shown he can thrive in their system.

same idea as:

Suns get:
Antawn Jamison
Anderson Varejao

Cavs get:
Jrich
Turk

Cavs do it because they have a glut of bigs and not enough offensive spark from the perimeter. They're possibly the worst team in the league: their whole team is built on role players for LeBron. They need players who can do something with the ball, particularly swingmen.

Jrich, Arenas, Reddick hah! If there is place for all and 40$ mil/year to spend for one position.

Who will start at Center for Cavs? Rookie Hollins?

Adding more....

League sources confirmed that Smith has talked with the Phoenix Suns, Portland Trail Blazers, and Denver Nuggets. Orlando has had discussions with the Suns about a deal that would bring Hedo Turkoglu back to Florida. Lon Babby, the president of basketball operations in Phoenix, allegedly didn't make the trip to Dallas recently so that he could continue working the phones.

I would love to have Rashard Lewis and Marcin Gortat for JRich and Hedo, but Shards contract is terrible and would leave the Suns with the same roster for another three years.

I don't want Lewis on this team.

Especially if it comes at Richardson's expense(WTF?!)

Hedo for Gortat and Bass works.

I could see the Suns pulling for Shard though. And if it wasn't for his contract, I would be interested. D'Antoni would fantasize about this lineup:
Nash
Dudley
Pietrus
Shard
Frye

A barrage of threes coming at you in all directions like BOOM!!1!
But really, Suns wouldn't have a bad lineup.
Nash/Dragic
Dudley/Childress
Hill/Pietrus
Shard/Frye/Warrick
Lopez/Gortat

Still doesn't fix the problem of rebounding...

If this was Shard of like...2 years ago, then maybe I'd be like "yeaaaah boiiiiii".

But the guy has declined in every statistical category for 3 straight seasons now!

The Magic and Wizards are discussing a blockbuster trade that would send Gilbert Arenas to Orlando, a person with knowledge of the talks confirmed to CBSSports.com Friday.

The person characterized the talks as “serious,” with definite interest on both sides to make the deal happen.

UPDATE: League sources say a third team is involved, with the Suns possibly contributing Hedo Turkoglu to the equation. The Magic, trying to make a bold move to close the gap with Boston and Miami, would wind up with Arenas and Turkoglu, who would return to the team he led to the NBA Finals before a frustrating year in Toronto. Magic center Marcin Gortat is "100 percent involved," though it's unclear whether the Magic would be sending out Rashard Lewis, Vince Carter, or both.

In my opinion, the best realistic possible trade :

GORTAT + DUHON or BASS for Hedo.

The worst trade:

LEWIS + PIETRUS for Hedo + J. Rich

Whatever, I want Hedo in Orlando!!!!!!

Hedo for Gortat and another piece is "okay" I guess, although it still doesn't give us a power forward. Cue the "let's play two centers together and it will be amazing!" posts. It really, really won't be.

My god, why would anyone want Lewis here?? Sometimes some of you really amaze me. We have enough of that. We need a good tough PF!!! I don't want no more no-defense, 3 shooting bigs, please. Specially at 20+ mil per year.

Return to Phoenix Suns
