Yup.

Teams are calling for him, so we can at least get some value for him, instead of him retiring after next year and us getting nothing. It all depends on the trade and how it will effect our future. Nash/Lopez for Smith, without a doubt i do it in a heartbeat.

Me thinks you guys are over thinking this 'no trade' situation

Consider a few assumptions/rumored facts....

Nobody wants childress.... nobody wants Carter.... nobody wants warrick... we do not really want to trade Lopez... Hill would rather retire than be traded.... We wont trade Nash till next yr....we wont trade Dudley ... we wont trade Gortat.... Nor Frye or Dragic.... I think we like Pietrus and will not be undersold.... and damn... are we protecting our draft picks ?

I assume we are not inclined to take on others' problem contracts w/o unloading ours, while at least improving the roster.

I do not think many good deals have come our way and we have found no one receptive in our offers. We do not have expendable talent as we are reasonably invested in 6 or 7 young guys, that even if dealt will not yield significant improvement, yet all will/can be back next yr.

As far as playoffs a concerned. Do not underestimate the value of experience to the younger fellows. They all had a taste last yr... get another one this yr and it will only increase their appetites.

Don't and won't be doing a deal with Atlanta sending Nash there. Possibly a deal for Smith or Williams though.

Atlanta sending Bibby, Evans, Jordan Crawford to Washington for Hinrich and Armstrong. There's here new PG and center.

With this deal, it REALLY (over $65 mil without Jamal Crawford) puts Atlanta in tax next year, without being able to resign Jamal Crawford and Smith looking for a payday. With this deal, the Hawks need to get more salary off the books next year. Maybe Lopez and VC for Smith/fillers. Lopez is really cheap and VC is only $4mil buyout.

It was his own proposal, not something that's actually being discussed.

Here are some players I'd like to get here (with any combo of VC/Pietrus/Chill/Warrick/Dragic/Lopez)

Felton
Nene
Martin
Diaw
Gerald Wallace
S Jackson
Ty Thomas
Josh Smith
Milsap
J Thompson

As you can see, I have Felton on this list. He's shown he can play our style in New York. He'd be a perfect replacement for Dragic as our back-up and potential starter (when Nash is gone). That way we stay the same up tempo push it type team.

As for the rest, they are all 4's except Jackson and Wallace. If we do a deal for him, I'd want Diaw and or Thomas with either of them.

I don't think that Hilton Armstrong is the center the Hawks need.

Lol... if Kerrsed's trade proposals on a regular basis went through, the league would implode out of terrible-ness.

If we're going to trade Nash, we need to at least unload some contracts with him.

just read four pages of horrific trade proposals. Utah would never trade Favors, that was the whole point of them trading anyone either way. You can never have too many bigs - especially really young athletic ones.

Nash isn't going anywhere. Period. Surely you all know the reason for Sarver's existence: money. Trading Nash would lost a lot of money for him. Nash has said he isn't leaving, Gentry has said it, Babby has said it, Sarver has said it; yet somehow people keep using his name in trade proposals?

Nobody wants Jchill, not even us. Not even the olympians. It's too bad, he hustles and can slash, but the guy needs to learn how to shoot.

Lopez is worth dick.

The ONLY trade piece we have is Vince Carter. But if we can't net a very good player in return (Josh Smith being the only one that is available), then there will not be a trade. His expiring is incredibly valuable to us either way, so there's no rush.

Elton Brand is not leaving Philly either. Collins will make sure of that.

Not ideally but he is better suited to play center next to Horford than Pachulia is. The real plus for them was getting the better suited PG for their team than Bibby. It'll be interesting to see if they do any more trades. If they don't they should be or will be this summer trying to rid themselves of salary.

I would trade Childress for O'Neal as long as we didn't give up any picks. Could possibly rejuvenate Jermaine but the big prize is his contract expiring a lot sooner then Childress. Though I wouldn't mind not doing it either.

Honestly...do you really go all in for CARMELO ANTHONY? Come on now...

Either Melo adapts and they do well, Mike adapts and they do well, or neither adapt and they all fail horribly.

I said before - yeah, I get that NY needs another star. i just don't see how Melo is the one. They needed a star SG, not a small forward who plays one on one and stops ball movement.

We'll see - glad they kept Fields, and Walker is a fav of mine and he'll get more time

Do you guys think if the Suns didn't beat the Jazz twice last week and instead they murdered us by twenty both games that they wouldnt have traded D-Will?

Dump Pietrus or VC... VC is a ball stopper who kills the offense and Pietrus' 5 mil next year is too much for him. If you have to take back a scrub like Jermaine O'Niel then do it.

I miss Kerr. :(

Nash is not retiring, has said he doesnt' see why he would want to or need to, and if he doesn't resign here he would do a sign and trade - I have no doubt of that

That said, if the Suns got a good enough offer, yes, as we've all said a hundred times. But no-one appears to making that offer
