7'9" wing span? That's the same as Rudy Gobert, supposedly the longest ever measured in the NBA.

I don't get it, with a wingspan and height like that, why not go play soccer and be a goal keeper? Its gonna be nearly impossible to score on someone with that size and that kind of length.

If we could trade the Morris twins for the Harrison twins, would anyone here oblige?

I'd rather keep the Morris twins and try to trade everyone else for the Harrison twins. Don't know what to do about center, though. Ideally we'd want Brook Lopez backed up by Robin Lopez, but I don't think we'll have the assets to get them.

Ford's Mock

2Julius RandlePhoenix Suns
COLLEGE: KentuckyAGE: 18HT: 6-9WT: 225POS: PF

Suns' forecast record: 22-60 | 19.9 percent to win lottery

Analysis: Like the 76ers, the Suns feel they have their big man (Alex Len) and their point guard (Eric Bledsoe) of the future. Randle would be a perfect complement to Len on the front line. He's the type of versatile 4 that most teams covet. He possesses virtually every attribute scouts look for in a prospect. The Suns have two other first-round picks (Nos. 18, 25) to fill out the team and are also optimistic about the long-term future of Archie Goodwin. While I don't like the baseline talent quite as much as I like Philly's, the Suns could end up easily rivaling Philly as the best young team in the NBA in another year.

18Jerami GrantPhoenix Suns
COLLEGE: SyracuseAGE: 19HT: 6-8WT: 203POS: SF

Wolves' forecast record: 40-42

Analysis: If the Suns can grab a power forward with their first pick, they can move toward a small forward with their second pick. Marcus Morris and Gerald Green will be the only two 3s left on the roster after this season, and Grant exudes much more potential.

25Aaron HarrisonPhoenix Suns
COLLEGE: KentuckyAGE: 18HT: 6-5WT: 210POS: SG

Pacers' forecast record: 54-28

Analysis: The Suns drafted one Kentucky shooting guard, Archie Goodwin, this summer. Will they make it two in a row next year? Aaron often gets overshadowed by his twin brother, Andrew, but it's mostly because Andrew is considered a point while Aaron plays a less pivotal position. He has talent and could add another big scoring threat to the Suns' backcourt.

Thanks, bwgood.

I am curious to see would McDonough go after Randle or Parker if we pick second.

I'm not too keen on Randle at this time. I don't like his desire to be a perimeter player and I'm not confident in his size to play in the post. I'm worried he'll end up as a more athletic Antawn Jamison. Obviously i will gladly change my position on him if he proves otherwise during the season at UK.

Very exciting year of college basketball ahead of us.

It`s interesting Ford has Wayne Selden going 19th, right after our (Minny) pick. If that`s the case I`d rather draft him than Jeramy Grant.

Team with Bledsoe, Goodwin, Selden, Randle and Len would flat out be the most athletic team in the NBA.

Nice find bwgood - cheers

Figured we may as well sticky this badboy, save for every time someone sees a nice player in college and posts 'we should draft him' in a new thread.

Also 'updated' the title...Anyone has any big issue let me know and I'll remove the T word :D

I personally like it. Tankapalooza, sounds appropriate and original.

Cannot wait for NCAA season to start.

I just hope we won't hear a bunch of crying if we start winning games this season. I don't think I can handle another season of anti-fans, complaining about our team winning games.

It`s one thing winning games with veterans and finishing 9th/10th with 35-40 wins and something different if we win with Archie Goodwin, Alex Len, Eric Bledsoe, Morris twins etc. I would obviously be delighted with latter and I am just pleased our FO is finally rebuilding properly.

Just because some people also happen to understand the business of basketball doesnt make us crying anti-fans. Please grow up. The Suns are trying to rebuild in an attempt to be a legit contender in a few years...not just using any stop-gap measure to win just enough to eek into the playoffs to pacify myopic fans like yourself. You can't just keep applying temporary solutions to a permanent problem if you want a real shot at winning it all.

Grow up? Are you f*cking kidding me? The team isn't in the business of purposely losing games, which is what "tanking" is.

I just can't handle another year of people hating on the team for winning or trying to win. I'm fine with the team having to go through the rebuilding process, and I totally understand that through that process we might lose many games.but I will always want us to win every game we play, and I won't celebrate losses like many of the anti-fans did here last season. Rooting for a team to lose is one thing, but if that team is not an enemy of your team, you are an anti-fan.

Heck, I hope we make the playoffs, shouldn't we all hope this? :o

I'd rather not rush a rebuild or make moves that make us good enough to make the playoffs as a 7/8 seed every year with no hope of moving up. Being stuck like the Bucks or Hawks as a perennial 4 and out team would be torture. If it only takes one or two more years of this then it will be worth it.

But if the team plays well enough to make the playoffs, then what? Are they supposed to purposely not play guys to miss the playoffs, just so it doesn't seem rushed?

I feel we have a bunch of hungry guys, really wanting to prove themselves, and possibly a coach as well. If they gel together, who knows what will happen? But I'm certainly not going to hope they lose just to have better odds at winning the lotto. I'd much rather have one of our current guys have a breakout year.

The way I look at it, Goran is solid, Gortat will be playing for a contract, Bledsoe the same and also to prove he is a starter, the Morris twin eithe have to step up or solidify their deep bench roles, Tucker always plays his hardest, Goodwin wants to prove himself and show that last year did not define him, and Len has to prove why some thought of him as the top pick. Overall, our main rotational guys all have something to prove, and we got rid of almost all of our dead weight. I'm becoming more and more optimistic about this season.

Who are you arguing with, RDG? I am sure we all want the Suns to win as much as they can and make playoffs because it would mean our young guys are studs but chances for that in the stacked West this season are slim to none, let`s be real. Goodwin and Len are still kids, ffs.

I would be pleased with our young players properly developing and building chemistry upcoming season. Draft another (or two) stud(s) next summer and we can talk about upgrading roster for playoffs push.

1. This thread is the Tankapalooza thread... so people coming here and then being offended by fans cheering on losses or complaining about wins... simply make another thread... maybe call it "The Fringe Playoff run thread"... or "the threadmill thread".

And vice versa, fans who are pro-tanking complaining over there should simply just exit and go this thread.

2. If the Suns are winning because Archie Goodwin and Alex Len have become stars... then I'm all for the Suns making moves to build around these 2.... I'll support the team winning, because atleast I know the Suns have a bright future.

If the Suns are winning against rival teams for top 4 picks because Gortat is playing for a big contract and decides to be a 15/10 center for the sake of a long contract on another team... and/or Dragic is playing majority of minutes and sacrificing the younger guys like Goodwin's development..... well F%$K THAT!....

I'm Pro-Future for the Suns.... this isnt about 2014 or 2015 Suns team... I want a legit top 4 WCF team in 2016 and beyond... or 2015 depending on the development of the players.

This upcoming season is potentially a decade defining season for the Suns...

If they can develop Archie Goodwin and Alex Len, despite the team losing.... and then adding another stud player from the 2014 draft..... it WILL set up the Suns for the next decade...

As some said... this team is not 1-2 pieces away from being "rebuilt"... they are just starting.... they dont have an all-star on the team.. just potentials... the team has ten folds the reward if they rebuild properly as opposed to signing players to win 45 games and fade.... championship teams dont do that....

they either go all out or lay low and wait until they can GO ALL OUT.
