I don't like players chatting and cracking jokes with opposing players during a game. Period.

Don't want to start this again - but nobody mentions how Eric tried to draw some fouls in the last couple of minutes yesterday and therefore, turning the ball over...just saying.

After the game the Suns players quickly went to their bench while one player was talking with his buddies from Oklahoma, guess who? lol

After all, it was an intense match with Tucker getting his nose busted, the quite awful refereeing and Westbrook celebrating after each silly shot he made...I wished he would be a little more "old school" in that regard and stay with his team after a tough battle like this.

Whatever, I hope he wins us the last five games and I will not criticize him again (this year). :D
Prediction for this season: Spurs beat Heat 4:2 in the finals (the revenge of Pop)
I don't like it, but it is highly possible this season with IND and OKC struggling

Yup. He got to the basket, but you can't expect to get calls during the last few minutes. He's got to finish and consider a "and 1" a bonus.

That could be helpful later in the summer...maybe we can use Bledsoe to recruit FAs to PHX.

Where were your comments after Friday's game against Portland. Did he go to the bench fast enough for you or did he show some sportsmanship by congratulating the other team for its efforts?

Just more juvenile nit picking from the clueless.

The only one thing I don't like about Bledsoe ... his knee injuries. He's a great defender. His offensive game is not quite yet polished and hence he is turnover prone. I believe those TO numbers go down as the entire team matures. If the team is held together by the front office with only minimal changes (one big name free agent is fine) then I fully expect his offensive number to improve and TO drop as the players become familiar with each other.

- he has this "too cool" demeanor and lacks some urgency and passion in certain situations
- he pouts and looks like a spoiled brat very often (on the court and bench)
- when we play well he engages and shows his potential, when we suck he disappears
- he jokes and chats with opponents, even if we are getting blown out (Miami/LeBron for example)
- he settles for jumpers way too often - his strength is attacking the rim

Man, you're difficult to please.

I'm just going to address the point in bold. Bledsoe's biggest problem is that he plays out of control too often. Actually, I think that he needs to utilize his pull-up (off-the-dribble) jumper more, especially in transition. Too often, he forces the drive, tries too hard to draw contact, and ends up turning the ball over rather than just shooting the pull-up jumper, with the Oklahoma City game constituting a prime example (he passed on the pull-up jumper a number of times and instead ended up forcing drives that resulted in turnovers or misses).

That said, he's still raw and he still brings quite a bit to the table. He may never be a great point guard, but he could be an All-Star if his knees hold up.

And he's learning. He played one year of college basketball and he'd never before been a full-time starter in the NBA. When you possess Bledsoe's kind of explosiveness, there's a very fine line between taking advantage of it and forcing it.

I haven't watched many games... listened to far more, but has the Bled played up to his defensive terror label?

He really hasn't. He was supposed to be this defensive menace, the next Raja Bell but honestly he isn't that great defensively. Even his on ball, one on one defense hasn't been anything too impressive.

I had very high expectations for Bledsoe defensively.

He's good defensively; he can provide some pressure and activity, and some disruption. However, some media members tired to portray him as this defensive terror based on his steals per 36 minutes numbers from last season, which is a pretty daft way to judge defensive ability.

The Suns' main problem defensively is that they possess no shot-blocking when Plumlee isn't on the floor, and Plumlee is something of an offensive liability, meaning that you don't want him playing huge minutes.

Things I don't like about Bledsoe...

All im saying is I can't name a starting point guard with better defense not named Chris Paul right now.

... Avery Bradley is better than both. He's not a point guard offensively, but he often guards them.

Great post.
I agree with you about a ton of things that you have said ....but at the same time, with all of his imperfections,Bledsoe is a GREAT player. He is not Durant, or even Dragic right now, but he is the best player we can have right now in the NBA because we have no choices to adquire a better one. And I think he is woth more than 10M per year...probably 12-13M per year is fair enough for both sides.

Then the standards for greatness have slipped to absurdly low levels.

Bledsoe is a good player. He's not great, but he does possess All-Star potential. If the Suns are confident in the future of his knees, then they should do whatever it takes to retain him because the current NBA game is built for players like him and for a two-point guard offense.

Russel Westbrook, Rajon Rondo, Patrick Beverly but yea that's probably it. Bledsoe is definitely top 5 for his position.

And set Beverly a screen and he becomes Beasley on defence

Things I don't like about Eric Bledsoe:

1. He doesn't have a long-term contract to play basketball for the Phoenix Suns.

Some of the posters on this board are over thinking this. Eric Bledsoe is a 24 year old, top 16 point guard in the NBA who has the potential to crack the top 5 of that list in the next 4-6 years. Yes, it's going to cost Robert Sarver a lot of money to keep him around - because players with his skill set and athletic abilities get paid lots of money.

No reason for that but if you need to call somebody clueless go ahead.

Question - are you in love with Eric Bledsoe or why can't some of us criticize him without you defending him at all cost?

By the way - tonight he plays like dogpoo. There, I said it. Goran does all the work so far.

If he plays well he WILL GET PRAISED, if he plays like tonight I will call him out.
I WANT him to play well cause I want to see playoff basketball, alright?

UPDATE:
great third quarter by Eric, 12 points and a nice block - that's the way he needs to play, focused and agressive. First half was just turrible but if he keeps it up we should win this.

To answer your question, no I am not in love with him - I love my wife of 30+ years. No one is defending him at all costs. Your criticism for the most part is pointless and juvenile and just giving occasional feint praise does not make it right.
