Ridiculous not to be playing Warren at this point of the season. Makes no sense at all

14 from 35 FGA and 6 turnovers?

If that's great, what's bad?

Markieff 15 pts, 9 rebs, 5 TO
Marcus 19 pts, 12 Rebs.

I'll take that everyday.

Our players played good. Portland just a better team.

He makes that a lot vs plays with length. Just too good.

Of course he does... he's a elite player... but against kieff is just absolutely easy for him.

There is nothing else to say about this game. Suns played hard, Bledsoe shot terribly, but the real loser is Hornacek. This guy does not have a clue in his head that this season does not mean anything. Maybe he thinks he is on the hot seat and has to win these games or is going to get fired. Why else would you not play your young players more? Seriously, can any person on this board justify playing Warren ZERO MINUTES? What the hell is going on. Tucker is a horrendous offensive player. Warren is a better scorer as a rookie than Tucker will ever be. This is not the Suns time. Their time will be in the coming seasons. However that is never going to happen if Hornacek keeps making these boneheaded decisions and plays Green and Tucker instead of Warren.

Damn, Bledsoe looked like he was about to die from exhaustion in the fourth there. Playing nearly 40 minutes after recovering from stomach flu has to be brutal, especially when you're expected to do nearly all of the playmaking and also play tough defense on a guy like Lillard.

Knight eating some of those minutes and bolstering the Suns during scoring lulls would have been pretty nice this game, but it's whatever. If you can't play, you can't play, no sense slaying his ankle even more at this point in the season. Games like this really make you yearn for that scoring punch off the bench, though.

I've always been a pretty big Morris twins believer which puts me at odds with a lot of people on this board but I do like seeing them continue to put in good games. Marcus is playing like 4/5ths of Chandler Parsons for 1/3 of the price. Those contracts are murder.

Obviously I'd still be open to trading them if they had to be moved to bring in a good player but man, hard to say no to that value, lol.

Show casing Marcus Morris... 44 minutes when you have Warren, Tucker who can play.

The Suns just couldn't hit a shot in the fourth. They were getting good looks, just not knocking them down. Also, too many offensive rebounds (again) were keeping the Blazers in the game - they Suns couldn't put the Blazers away when Portland were struggling because of that.

Overall the Suns played pretty well. Bledsoe struggled shooting the ball, but was amazing defensively (team defense in the second half was great).

Going 1-15 during that stretch in the forth, while not converting open shots and fast break opportunities is what caused us the game. Can't get too upset about a loss where shots we usually convert aren't falling, the intensity and grit was there so overall a satisfying effort.

This is the second game in a row that Goodwin was not playing during crunch time and the Suns lost. He is probably the best player on the team now at drawing fouls. When you cannot hit a shot, you need someone that can drive to the hoop and score or get fouled. When he came out of the game, the Suns were winning 73-70. I guess Hornacek thinks the young guys are not ready even though the so called veterans KEEP ON LOSING.

Honestly I've been one of the biggest critics of the Morris brothers this season, but these past few games they have been great.

Keiff was getting the type of looks he likes to get on offense, but just couldn't knock them down. Can't really fault him for his defense on Aldridge either - he had one bucket in the paint (I believe of an offensive rebound). That fadeaway buzzer beater from the top of the key, and those turnarounds over Len's double team were just ridiculous. The only thing he really could have done better was completely deny L.A. the ball, which is almost impossible given Aldridge's size advantage.

Marcus defended well, and his defense has been tremendous lately. His impact over this recent stretch of ball games can not be overstated.

The reason we lost can't really be pinned down to one or two guys, but the fact that we don't have a go-to guy when we hit scoring droughts (like we have over the past games), we don't have a Lamarcus Aldridge, or Boogie etc. the type of guys who can take over games when needed.

Agreed. We are showcasing Marcus. Everyone knows Markieff can ball, he's been doing it all season. No one knows Marcus's abilities.

Last two games have shown what is really lacking.
Kings used Cousins all the way when they needed him.
Blazers used Aldridge.
Suns have no option beside Morris, but he can only do so much.

Yes, it is very clear that Markieff / Len frontcourt is not there yet defensively. Len has made a good progression this year, but he has to improve a lot to be an offensive threat and a good to great defensive center. Hopefully he adds bulk over the summer and improves his shot, his midrange's game the last few games have been horrible.
Markieff has improved too, but no way he can defend one on one players like Aldridge or Griffin, he is not big/long enough to bothers them. But at least he is rebounding better and offensively he is very very good now.

3 pages of game thread? Ok.

Man, it's been just a tough season. With all those buzzer beaters, close losses. Now we seem to figured out the defense, but can't score. We miss Dragic's fastbreak points dearly. There were a couple possessions on the break in the 4th quarter that we just couldn't convert because of bad spacing/bad decisions. We move the ball OK, but not getting easy baskets. Gotta reward our defense with easy baskets.

I get the frustration, but within the organization they're thinking if they win this one, and they beat okc, they're still in the hunt. I know it's not happening, but that's what NBA teams think like. They always believe they can win.

So I don't mind the playing time tonight. When we lose on Sunday, we'll see the young guys play the rest of the season. I promise.

Unless you are "building up" the twins as trade fodder for the summer. I am convinced that Philly and Phoenix have already talked about it as part of the Knight/LA Pick trade. I am expecting some sort of deal between Philly and Phoenix this summer.
